/* Entertainment Industry Hires Virus Writers */ By: Karog As you all know by now the entertainment industry has made claims to crack down on file sharing users by pressing lawsuits against them. That can be avoided by simply setting up proxies. There will be less then 100 lawsuits next year, they all will make the news headlines to scare file sharing users. Currently file sharing user's traffic has dropped 10 to 15 percent on common file sharing applications. So far 10 to 15 percent of users stopped sharing files. After those news reports on lawsuits it will drop a total of 20 - 30 percent. That is simple psychology. If people fear to share files then they will not. What humans do no understand or control very good they usually fear it. Since most users do not know how not to get caught they will stop. Music, movies, software, and porno is shared online for free. This actually has always happened but never this popular and easy. Alright they figured around 30% of people will stop. And the others are untouchable because they are using proxies or they live in another country that is not stupid enough to make laws for the virtual world. The entertainment companies staff has done some research, they have found out many pirates songs, movies and software are real copies on irc servers. Have you ever installed all the codecs you can then download a 600MB fake movie? Yeh, I hate when that happens, the companies put those fake files out. They also will take away a few bytes from programs to corrupt them etc. Anyways their research showed irc warez is generally real. Any one who shares fake files can get klined off the server. So it was almost like every one on underground irc servers where untouchable. Then they started writing viruses to constantly alter most file sharing server mirc scripts. Their main goal was to stop the "TMD INVISION" script. The viruses will constantly alter your settings so you cannot share files. Since the virus does not harm system files it has not yet been picked up by common virus scanners. These viruses are usually attached to pirated programs on file sharing networks. Here’s a tip, if your searching for bobo.exe and you find 2 results, with the same version, the same author, but a 200KB difference on of them has a virus attached. Anyways here is why I agree with file sharing. If a band sucks you can find out with out blowing off your money, if they are good you can go out and buy their cd if you want to. The EI is mad because foreign music sales has increased since napster. Also I download music and movies. Since movies are usually very low quality online and if they are good I wait for a month then I buy the dvd. I hate going out to watch movies in public, theirs always some one behind me kicking my chair or making noises.
