The Free Flow of Information

The Hacker Ethic Icon ("The Icon") is a symbolic representation of an idea. Much like the Peace Sign or Anarchy symbol. The Icon represents the conerstone of the Hacker Ethic "All Information Should be Free."

The Icon is loosley based upon the winged wand of Hermes. Hermes was the messenger of the gods, and therefore the bearer of Information. Also, Hermes in his day was the patron god of thieves. In this day and age Thievery is somtimes and unfortunatly needed to help increase the Free Flow of Information.
