Infragard Website- http://www.infragardatlanta.org (steering@infragardatlanta.org)
This chapter has around 385 members (2004). They also get "donations" from the following corporations- Home Depot, Cox Enterprises, Georgia Pacific, SunTrust Bank, and UPS)

From their website:

"Members are linked to each other and to the FBI by the bureau's secure "alert network." Companies can anonymously report incidents to all other members without fear of publicizing their vulnerability. The FBI provides encryption software to protect information exchange among members. The National Infrastructure Protection Center will use data gathered from different InfraGard chapters to compile reports on nationwide security trends. As Security risk grows the InfraGard program is becoming the FBI's front-line of defense."

And read Ralph Merkle's glowing prediction that all our information security problems will be solved, just as they were in aircraft navigation and national defense. Yeah, right. Last I checked, airplanes still crash and the Bush administration fucked up Iraq. It's not the technology I worry about. It's the fucking morons running it that keep me awake at night. >:(

At this website we learn that companies who share information with the FBI about cyber attacks are exempt from the Freedom of Information Act. I'm pretty sure this is to prevent people from learning the truth about how bad corporate America is in securing all that data they're gathering on us. >:(
