The real Mega Conspiracy
On 20 January 2012, about 70 New Zealand police, including the armed Special Tactics Group, raided my Coatesville home at the request of the United States. I was arrested, property and accounts were seized and Megaupload was shut down.
US prosecutors allege racketeering, copyright infringement and money laundering, claiming US$500 million in losses to rights holders. After nearly 15 years the case remains allegations, not a conviction.
I say Megaupload was a storage service and that users, not the company nor I, were responsible for uploads. The US Supreme Court agreed in the Cox case unanimously in April of 2026. The GCSB intercepted my communications despite my protected residency. The government admitted the surveillance was unlawful and former Prime Minister John Key, who to this day makes the unbelievable claim that he knew nothing, apologized.
A High Court judge first held the search warrants invalid and the copying of seized data for the FBI unlawful. Later courts split: A Supreme Court majority upheld the warrants, while the export of cloned data and the GCSB interception remained unlawful. A 2024 Inspector-General report found the GCSB hosted a foreign signals system from 2013 to 2020 without telling its minister.
There is an alignment of interests: Hollywood lobbying (including a July 2011 White House meeting with Joe Biden and studio executives) and New Zealand’s courtship of film investment.
On extradition, I have been denied the material needed to test the US case and New Zealand’s numerous illegal actions. Possible US sentences of 30 to 150 years are contrasted with an estimated 12 years in New Zealand. Co-defendants Ortmann and van der Kolk, who were prosecuted in New Zealand, received under three years and served 10 month, a whopping 99.55% discount from the original charges.
My health, including a stroke and a nearly 15-year delay are fairness problems. Accountability and extradition are not the same thing: Any case should be tried in New Zealand. Five Eyes data sharing, weak Bill of Rights supremacy, political appointment of judges and a Privileges Committee drawn from the governing side leave New Zealanders without effective privacy and government accountability. A direct-democracy constitution would put the rights of New Zealanders above foreign requests.

Judge Nevin Dawson was conflicted in my opinion and should never have been the extradition Judge in the Megaupload case. I knew that he wasn’t serious when an expert suggested that the New Zealand government used a surveillance device (Stingray) to simulate a mobile tower and did not require any disclosure from the government. By using Stingray the government had a wide and illegal dragnet against New Zealanders who were living in the area or came to work at my home.
The Disney Judge (United States)
Judge O’Grady was a National Security Judge at the FISA Court that had a 99.96% success rate for the government. He is basically rubberstamping surveillance warrants for the United States.
He was selected as a Judge for my case by the US government because he was duty Judge for new cases when the US government filed my case. The DOJ selected him. In my humble opinion this looks like a setup from the beginning.
My current Judge, who took over from O’Grady, was also a National Security Judge and I have no expectation of getting a fair trial. Just Google how poorly he treated Chelsea Manning after her sentence was commuted by Obama.
The jury pool is in an area where many United States spies are employed and are encouraged to join juries in cases that are important for the government. They lie about the work they do for the government in the jury selection process and use social engineering techniques to convince other jury members to agree with them.

Megaupload did not induce copyright infringement. Megaupload had clear terms and reward rules that did not permit copyright infringement. Megaupload users were asked to confirm the terms with every upload. Megaupload had a designated agent to deal with takedown requests. We even gave over 150 copyright holders, including every major Hollywood Studio, direct delete access to our servers. They could remove links they did not like, instantly, and without questions.

The email that confirmed it
Hidden by the New Zealand government
Michael Ellis of the Motion Picture Association sent an email to Warner Brothers saying that Prime Minister John Key would extradite me. This email was labelled “fake’ by my attackers. That’s why I did not use it at ‘The Moment of Truth’ event featuring Julian Assange and Edward Snowden.
Instead I made a request for information to the New Zealand government. I expected that the email was forwarded to John Key or one of his people. The Attorney General then unlawfully declared my request “vexatious”. I never got the information I was entitled to.
I won in the High Court, Privacy Commissionaire, Human Rights Tribunal and the Court of Appeal until the New Zealand government stopped appealing. They kept breaking the law and never gave me the information I’m entitled to by law and despite the rulings that they acted unlawfully.
They ended up giving me some police files that were 80% redacted. I never received the information about the circumstances of my co-defendant’s false confession that I’m some kind of “ringleader”. This was all over the media despite a recording of my co-defendant’s saying the opposite.
The question is: “What is the government hiding?”

2 files in my Trash folder. If you check the meta data each file was only viewed once. I processed 2 takedown request for Kiddyporn on Megaupload myself because the person responsible was sleeping. I verified if the allegations were true and the user uploaded this material. We provided the MD5 hashes and takedown requests to the New Zealand authorities. They did not update the Judges. This behavior by the authorities has all the hallmarks of a US intelligence operation.
