FAQ - TV remote controller - Voice recognition

 

a) How to use voice recognition feature ?

    1. Make sure that you have selected (Start->Settings->Systems) in Microphone AGC- Enable (for iPAQ 3800 series Microphone Gain set to 15)

    2. Run TV remote controller 4.0

    3. Tap on "Options"->"Voice commands"->"Create/Modify voice commands"

    4. Select command from list (for example 1) and place your PDA in the proper 1. position.

    5. Tap on "Record" button and wait for "Say command!" (aprox. 1 sec)

    6. Say the command and wait for "Say the same command (2.)"

    7. Go to different position (for example to the left), say the same command and wait for "Say the same command (3.)"

    8. Go to different position (for example to the right), say the same command and wait for "Command has been recorded (... ms)"

    9. If you want to record the next command go to point 3

    10. Finally close "Voice commands" window.


b) How to start voice recognition?

    1. Tap on "Options"->"Voice commands"->"Start Listening"

    2. Now you can see at the top of the screen small blinking square (blue, green color - listening, red - recognition)


c) How to stop voice recognition?

    Tap on "Options"->"Voice commands"->"Stop Listening"

d) Can I use voice recognition if I work with another application?

    Yes, TV remote controller is listening in the background, so you can use another application and control your TV,VCR......

e) TV remote controller is having trouble recognizing a command that I have said. What should I do?

    The problem could be that there are was a background noise when you recorded the word or you picked a word that is difficult for TV remote controller to recognize. Try to have the TV sound off when you are recording.

f) How long a voice command can be?

    A voice command may not be longer than 2 seconds
