OTHER THINGS
Satellite telephone service is only available inside the US and 300
miles off the border of the US. Also the FCC has esablished programs
to provide telecommunications service to "under-served" users. AT&T
adds 55 cents per call to support that program, so someone clever
might think of a way to use that to their advantage.

THE OPERATOR
The operator's on these calls will not accept a credit card over the
phone to place your call, they say you must slide it through the slot.
She will also not tell you anything about herself, her family, or the
sattleite phone system, basically she is just their to so AT&T can
say they have customer care, all she does is try to get you off the
line as fast as she can so that you don't cost AT&T any money.

			HACKING THE SATTELITE PHONE

OK, so most of you don't wanna slide your credit card in that phone because:
A) you don't have a credit card
B) the credit card companies have black listed you
C) ATT has blacklisted anything to do with your name
D) you don't feel like paying a bloated price to line the
pockets of att&t execs

I fall under the category of c and d ( C is a long story...) anyway, I
looked at the calling card option and it peaked my interest, so I hit: 0
then # and I got an automated voice prompt. The following is a what you
can do with it:

1) I think att had to be on crack when they added this option, they tell
their operators not to accepts credit cards and the system is designed
not to accept credit cards unless you slide it. But option 1 allows you
enter you credit card number and expiration date, MANUALLY. Please not
that I do not condone credit card fraud, but this is a possible abuse
option and therefore I have listed it.

2) This is nothing special, all it allows you to do is enter you calling
card number manually, so you don't have to talk to the operator when
hitting 0+(555)1212

3) Collect call, yes people, you too can make a collect call from a satelite
phone. Call the ones you love and charge them 5 bux a minute to talk to you.

4) Promotions, with this option you are entitles to a free (yes i did say
FREE) 5 minute phone call, courtesy of at&t. The only catch is that you
must already have an at&t calling card, therefore i could not use this
option since at&t refuses to give me a calling card.

5) Questions or Comments. I don't really recomend using this option and
telling off at&t, because the filthy whore on the other end will call
you back and tell you off. She will threaten you with using obcene
language over the airwaves, which is a vague law and I don't think
anyone has ever been convicted under this law, so basically, just
hang up on her.

9948) I have no idea what the hell this does, you hear a bunch of
screaching noises through the handset and the screen will start
scrolling numbers up the wazoo. If anyone knows what this does,
please tell me.

This is basically everything I know about att's satellite phones,
so don't bug me with questions about using boxes on these or whatever.
