Please note that it may be illegal to use this software.. If you
get in trouble for using this software don't try to blame me.. I
hold no responsibility for your actions..

Linux Grab is a linux based snarfing software. It works with
standard celltrak pinouts as outlined in DaVeX's snarf3.txt.

	10 - Clock
	15 - Data
	25 - Ground

The port it uses is LPT1, I.E. 0x378.. If your parallel port is
different you need to change it.. The option of choosing
your parallel port will be added very soon..

The parallel port reading routines are supposed to work for all parallel
ports (SPP, etc), but it has only been tested on EPP, and ECP parallel
ports built onto Pentium motherboards.. To make sure your responses are
the same use the response command line.. You should get back the following
two numbers 127 and 119.. If you get something back different
please email me, and let me know what codes you got back, and what kind
of parallel port you are using..

Snarf by default compares all 5 ESN's sent, and if it cannot match all
Discards the grab. All pairs are logged to a file called pairs in the
directory it was executed from. To exit just press Control-C. A complete
log file is also save called full-log.. This is the same as the screen
output. Errors are not logged.. If you want to view the errors use the
command line error. The grab to error ratio is usually something like
1:6 for me, but you will still get shitloads..

As far as requirements to grab I wrote this program on a K6-233 with
64mb of RAM, but I am sure it will work on a much slower computer..
The slowest thing I personally have tested it on is a P-120..
The program will end up eating up alot of CPU, due to the way
it's coded, but there isn't a much better way of doing it.
Unfortuantly since the C function inb() needs most of the CPU I
recomend not doing anything too CPU intensive, otherwise you are
probbably going to loose pairs.. You can telnet, irc, ftp, but you
are probbably not going to be able to play MP3's in the background..
You need to have lib.c, and lib.ncurses..

Currently this software only works with a high clock setting,
which is given off from all motorola phones. Low clock will be added
soon.

Only RECC is functional in this version.. FOCC might be added, but it's
not that important.. If you want FOCC use a CTEK right now.. If you are
not sure it's working use the test command line to dump the output of
your ddi..

I would also like to thank avoozl for helping me with some parts of
the source.

If you need some more help getting your ddi to work please look
at DaVeX's snarf txt files (found on http://radiophone.dhp.com).

There are still a few problems that need to be worked out.. Ocasionally
you will get bum area codes.. (134) is a good example that I get typicly..
They will pop up once in a blue moon, but the next revision will fix this
problem.. When the number dialed is printed sometimes it gets really badly
mutilated.. I am not sure if this is because it's so far twoards the end of
the RECC word, or just coded poorly.. :)

The DOS port should be out soon..

Instalation:

Simply run "make" to compile a new version of linux snarf if you need to
change something..

Then run "make install"

To use it you just type "snarf" from your root shell

Command Lines:

test - Dumps the snarfer output to your screen.. This is just to make
sure you actually getting data. Press Ctrl-C to break out of it.

help - Prints all command lines.

response - Dumps the parallel port codes to the screen.. You should
get back 127 and 119, if you get something different then
              it's not going to work..

error - Prints errors, not just pairs.. This can become a nusiance
when the whole screen is filled with errors, and no pairs.

Errors Explained:

   MIN/ESN Compare Error - 5 ESN's and 5 MIN's sent do not match

Bad ESN Prefix - Invalid ESN Prefix sent (FF,0C,etc..)

FFFFFFFF ESN - ESN of FFFFFFFF sent. This happens sometimes
when using a cell phone to decode RECC
Everytime you see this message note that
SASNARF2.EXE would have started to constantly
		            dump pairs of (111)111-0111 00000000. :)
