                                Reference Guide

CompuServe's partnership with Fujitsu Ltd. in Japan provides for asynchronous
dial-up network access from throughout Japan to hosts on CompuServe via the
FENICS-ROAD 2 network at speeds of 1200-2400 (MNP) bps and via the FENICS-ROAD
3/4 network at speeds of 9600-14400 bps.

LOGON OPTIONS

You may log on to CompuServe Network Services' generic Network User Address
(NUA) to reach CompuServe's Host Name prompt, or your organization may have
opted to provide a private NUA of its own. Ensure you know which option your
organization has chosen before you attempt to log onto your host. Contact your
organization directly regarding this information.

ACCESS INSTRUCTIONS

1. NOTE: If you are accessing the network at 300-2400 bps, your modem should
be set to support 7 data bits and even parity. If you are accessing the

data bits and no parity. For 9600 bps and 14400 bps access, you will not be
required to enter @P<CR>, under STEP 1 of the ACCESS INSTRUCTIONS.

enter is CIS followed by a <CR> after which you will see the User ID
prompt. Enter your User ID and log on as usual.
