Address Translation Rules and Syntax

Label

A label is one of the upper case letters A thru Z and may appear at the beginning of a match rule or the end of a translation. It is separated from the match rule or translation with a colon ':'.

I:3+{$$$$}={1}:A

The label I: at the beginning of a line indicates where the translation is to start when the rules are applied to an incoming call. An incoming call is a call to the ISS node from the user attached to the ISS switch.

The label O: indicates where the translation starts for an outgoing call. An outgoing call is a call from a ISS node to the user, trunk, or network attached to one of its connector cards.

O:9{+}=3110{1}

User-defined labels can precede a rule also. Translation jumps to a user-defined label when the same label appears at the end of a translation rule that has been executed.

For example:

I:2{+} => {1}:B

.

B:7{+} = 6{1}

When a rule does not start off with a label;

5+{???}=5{1}

Then that rule belongs to the family of rules that have a label.

O:6{+}={1}

5+{???}=5{1}
2+{???}=0{1}
{+}={1}
