Some Basic Terms

A closer look at some of the terms that are used in address translation.

Incoming & Outgoing

An incoming call is a call to the #1-ISS node from the user attached to the switch.

An outgoing call is a call from a #1-ISS node to the user, trunk, or network attached to a connector card.

Local & Remote

Each Call Request contains both a local address and a remote address.
