AEA says the clock on the PK-88 does indeed put out a birdie on 145.01, but they do have a mod you can make to fix the situation. The clock frequency is controlled by C38, a 33 pF capacitor. If you change this to an 82 pF cap (use a silver mica cap), it will lower the clock frequency enough to move the birdie out of the packet band. (Hopefully, you won't RFI your use or your neighbor's use of another part of the 2M band! WA2ISE). If you have any trouble, call Ryan at AEA customer service at 206 775-7373.
