Bulletin #: 13889-017 Date: May 1, 1989 Subject: C8 and C9 occasionally fail due to oscillation Information: C15 and C16 are added and the value of C8 and C9 are changed to prevent RF oscillation and failure Procedure 1. Disassemble the amplifier and locate C8 and C9 on the main PA unit. 2. Remove C8 and C9 .12 uf chip and replace with .02 uf 500V ceramic (ICOM P/N 918-06119) keeping the leads as short as possible. 3. Add C15 and C16 .02 uf 500V ceramic (ICOM P/N 918-06119) in paralleled with C8 and C9. Again keep the leads as short as possible. 4. Reassemble the amplifier and check for self-oscillation at full power output.
