Model: IC-RP1210 Division: Amateur Note: This service bulletin is meant for technical per- sonnel with experience working on solid state com- munications equipment. Damage caused by im- properly installing this modification may cause ICOM to charge for subsequent repairs to the product. ICOM does not warrant this modification. Bulletin #: 27687-008 Date: October 2, 1987 Subject: If PLL unlock occurs at power-up Procedure 1. Remove the bottom cover from the repeater. 2. Remove the PLL board from the repeater. 3. Add a 470 pf ceramic disc capacitor to the bottom of the PLL board from IC4 pin 7 to ground on the PLL board. 4. Reinstall the PLL board in the repeater. 5. Reinstall the cover on the repeater. 6. Check the function of the modification. Bulletin #: 10789-001 Date: April 18. 1989 Subject: When the power is applied to the repeater the CTCSS is enabled automatically. If it is desired to disable the CTCSS at power up this modification may be made to the repeater. Information: On the control unit IC8 is a dual D type of latch. The Q and not Q outputs on this IC control the CTCSS enable line. To disable the CTCSS encoder at power up or system reset pins 12 and 13 on IC8 must be exchanged. Procedure 1. Remove the control board from the chassis. 2. Cut the trace going from R20 to pins 9 and 12 on IC8. 3. Cut the trace going from J2 to pin 13 on IC8. 4. Add a jumper wire from the land cut on R20 to pin 13 on IC8. 5. Add a jumper wire from the cut trace on J2 to pins 9 and 12 of IC8. 6. Reinstall the control PCB back in the chassis. Operation After this modification is made A125 will turn the CTCSS on and A126 will turn the CTCSS off.
