MODEL: TS-850S
SUBJECT: "Click Noise" with Notch On 

Symptom: When a strong signal of S-9 or greater is received at the antenna 
terminal with the NOTCH circuit ON a "clicking" noise might be noticed. 
This is caused by excessive response in the AGC loop circuit.

Countermeasures: The changes detailed below will add additional delay to the 
AGC circuit and reduce or eliminate this tendency.

Parts Required:

Procedure:

On PC Board X48-3080-00 (Foil Side) change R289 from 10K to 22K. 
Add the 0.47 uF Cap across C43.


Caution: This modification requires advanced sufface mount soldering 
equipment that is rated for CMOS circuits. It also requires familiarity 
with advanced sufface mount soldering techniques. If you do not have the 
proper equipment or knowledge do not attempt this modification yourself.
