If not, here's a quick way to do this with the PRO-2035. Supplies you'll need: Drill, Female RCA jack, 2 inches of wire, soldering iron. Open the top cover and disconnect the speaker. Set it aside. Look inside on the PCB for TP2. This will be a small metal post standing straight up about 1/4 inch from the PCB. It will be located about 1 1/2 to 2 inches fron the back of the scanner, in the center. Take your drill and tap a small hole in the back of the scanner, anywhere you like so long as it does not come in contact with any other components or the top cover. (I placed mine directly above the audio jack since it's a shorter distance to the TP2 455KHz point.) Mount the RCA flush, and solder a wire from the center connector of the jack to the top of TP2. (Keep length of as short as possible.) Re-connect the speaker, and close the case. Directions for use: You'll need to make a short run of cable. About 2 feet of any coaxial cable with a PL-259 on one end and a male RCA jack on the other. Make sure though that you place a small capacitor in series for AC coupling. --- PL-259 Capacitor RCA ____ <-- |---------------------||-------------------------- --- --- \ /---- | | ____ ____ //// //// Connect the cable between the scanner and a Shortwave / Ham receiver that is capable of tuning down to 455KHz. Turn the scanner on and select a frequency, likewise the shortwave, however you'll need to leave the shortwave on 455Khz. You should now be able to listen to the signals that the scanner picks up on the shortwave rig. Make sure you select the appropriate mode though, such as AM FM USB or LSB. NOTE: Signal strength indications will not function normaly. A signal of greater than S-9 are normal even when there is not signal being received at the scanner. (The SW is still receiving one! The scanners!) I did this mod the other day, works good, looks good. If you have any questions fell free to mail me. Rob Neff n7ory@primenet.com
