Latest Information on CuteFTP Cracks
As of 8-19-99, there has been one successful crack for CuteFTP 3.0.2. This crack was done by Aesculapius of +HCU, and has not been distributed publicly. Aesculapius' efforts are not only a testament to the persistence of the cracking community, but will help our security measures get even better. GlobalSCAPE would like to thank Aesculapius for not distributing this crack publicly.
Below is a partial list of poorly-executed CuteFTP crack attempts. They have become quite numerous, and it is difficult to track them all. We urge you not to use any of these, as they will make your system unstable.

Fails to disable all hash checks. This will cause program instability.
nw_cute-c.zip by Nordic
Does not disable all hash checks.
CuteFTP302.zip by AnThraX
Also fails to disable all hash checks.

This widely-distributed crack does not disable all hash checks. This and other cracks will not only impair CuteFTP, but will make your computer unstable, as evidenced by the quote from an +HCU cracker:
"CuteFTP's newer protection features multiple self-integrity checks involving both the live image and the dead file. If triggered, the protection will corrupt CuteFTP's own process address space and other processes too."
Serial Gen by SavaGe [pC]
SavaGe made a successful serial generator for earlier versions of CuteFTP 3.0, but not for 3.0.2 and beyond.
Cut3crak.exe by Mitch at ESI
Not only does this crack not disable all the CuteFTP hash checks, but it is a trojan horse virus.
Cracks by the European Crackers Unique
This group has released several different cracks, all of which pass some hash checks but fail others. One is called Ct3crk.zip, which does not disable the hash checks. The latest is called CrCuteFtp3032.com, which the ECU claims to work, but in truth does not.
Anonymous Hex Editor Crack by ZuLu
This crack, found in the alt.cracks newsgroup, fails some hash checks and causes system instability.
Cute3032crk.zip by VeLoXiS
Yet another partial crack fails to disable hash checks.
Cuteftp32.rar by Tweaky
Another attempt that fails to disable all the hashes.
Anonymous hexedit attempts
There are a few hexedit cracks floating around the IRC. All of the ones we have found fail our checks.
lxt_cftp3.zip by Laxity
The text file that comes with this one claims "This crack works 100%! Really!" In fact, it really 100% fails our hash checks.
xak-cftp.zip by SaWaT
This one claims to be a "universal crack for CuteFTP v3.0.x."
However, it does not disable all hash checks.
pc_cf301.zip by pHRoZeN
Claims to have cracked where others failed. Like the others, it does not disable hash checks.
cuteftp32300.zip by ZuLu
The text file with this crack says "Eliminates 30-day expiration, checksums, and unregistered text."
Notice that anyone can disable checksums, but not necessarily all the hashes.
