Installing / Uninstalling.
Tasm IDE comes in a ZIP file so you will need WinZip to decompress it. The
most easiest way is to move the ZIP-file to the folder where you want it and right click it in Windows Explorer.
Select to decompress it and all files will be extracted and placed in the right subdirectories. This will create
a few new folders: Lib, Help, Projects and Wizards. Now you can start up "Tasm IDE.exe". First of all,
you need to set the right folder that contains the Turbo Assembler executables: tasm.exe, tasmx.exe, tasm32.exe,
tlink.exe, tlink32.exe and optionally td.exe, tdw.exe, td32.exe, brc.exe, brcc.exe, brc32.exe, brcc32.exe.
In a normal installation the required files will be installed in the Tasm\Bin folder. It doesn't matter where your
files are located.
The program will keep settings in the file TasmIDE.ini. This may seem
old-fashioned but the advantage is that Tasm IDE runs independently from Windows. You can move the Tasm IDE folder
without problems. This has also the advantage that uninstalling is very easy. You can just delete all the files
and it's gone! No registry entries or hidden files in C:\Windows are left. You do lose all settings when you delete
TasmIDE.ini.
