Paging Resources

This archive contains pager programming/monitor software along with interface diagrams. I have not tested these but I am informed that they do the job. Use at your own risk.

So, you want to decode those pages. Well first things first you will need the following items:

1. Scanner covering roughly 137Mhz - 154.00 Mhz and/or 454 Mhz - 467.00 Mhz

2. Interface between scanner and PC or a Sound Card (Win 95 only)

3. Suitable software

4. A PC with DOS or Win 95

Right, heres details of everything you need.

1. Scanner

Most scanners require the discriminator output, which is the unfiltered/unamplified signal from inside the scanner. This can be found in various places. Have a look in this list to see if your scanner is listed. You might like to try the headphone/speaker output instead, you may get limited results.

2. Interface

The interface is fairly simple and is powered by the serial port. It can even fit in side the serial plug casing. The diagram is available here.

The other option is to feed the scanner output directly into your sound card. This requires some Win95 only software called poc32.
