Well, well...since I've been spending so much time on Dissident, (hah) I don't have a lot to put here.... oh well...

As owner, operator, and primary user of Dissident, I do everything. OS updates, bug fixing, normal sysadmin tasks, web page maintenance etc. (When possible, that is...)

Well well.. the heatsink/fan fell off of the 60mhz Pentium that powers Dissident. Needless to say, Linux didn't handle that too well.. it decided to trash my 4 Gig. So to all you ex-Dissident users - your home dirs are gone. You can't get anything from em. Sorry. Better luck next time. Etc, etc.

I'll be making some updates to this personal section soon, so keep yer eyes peeled. The IRC Girlz section will be updated first - since it hasn't been touched in 6 months. Also, the Defcon III story will probably never get finished... heh. Maybe Defcon 4's will?

DefCon III Want to see a bunch of us evil hax0rs running around Vegas breaking things and wreaking havoc? (Not drinking tho, never!) Well, here ya go -- pictures of DrKool, Thayer, Xylorg (defcon goon), Vamprella (defcon woman o' doom), myself, and a few others. We didn't attend many speeches since we were too busy having fun and causing trouble. I'll be at Defcon4 (again in Vegas, late july 96) so if you're there, say hi, bring donations, bow down, etc..
(Seriously, just lemme know what you think of the page - otherwise I'll end up with a bigger ego than Howard Stern and Rush Limbaugh combined!)

Music Stuff..

Seaweed's latest album, Spanaway is one of my top three albums of 1995. Their radio hit Start With rocks hard, as does the rest of this 13 song disc. Although Seattle is today's "Alternative" music mecca, Seaweed hail from Tacoma, WA. This geographical difference matters little since (IMHO) this album beats most anything out of Seattle this year. There is a (go figure) left-leaning political slant to some of the songs (Magic Mountainman and Last Humans being the most prominent) but this doesn't detract at all from the music. My favorite lyric from '95 comes from a song on this album entitled Not Saying Anything: music loud could drown you out / but in my ear you're shouting This little phrase has stuck in my head for the past few months.. and the song itself is just awesome. I totally recommend this album to EVERYONE. Go buy it. It r0x.

Jawbreaker Rocks! They're a local (Bay Area) band that's been around for a while but has only recently gained radio play with their single Fireman. They have at least one other single I know of, titled Save Your Generation. Their latest album, Dear You is excellent. I figured they'd be one-hit wonders and the rest of the album would suck -- I was completely wrong! My favorite song is Track 4, Accident Prone, which is slower than Fireman but IMHO, much better. It's a shame some of the best songs on albums don't get the airplay they deserve because they don't quite fit the "Alterna-Rock" radio format. (Some big bands, like Oasis can get away with it though - check out their new single "Champaigne Supernova", it's over 7 minutes long!) If you're into "grunge" sounding music with a haunting sound, check this band out.
