"perf hit other CS" is the performance hit you get when using the other (the slowest for that CPU) CrackSet for brute-force cracking, and is calculated as follows: [(fast-slow)*100/fast] %
Alpha versions: asm core under constant tweaking. FZC only does benchmarks, doesn't even know what a ZIP file is.
Beta versions: core stabilized. Adding & fixing things.
To get your own benchmarks: close all active apps (eg Netscape, Word, etc), open a MS-DOS Prompt (Start-> Programs-> MS-DOS Prompt) and type FZC -ms
If you want to store the benchmarks in a file, type FZC -ms >bench.txt (you will not see anything for around 10 seconds as FZC's output is being redirected to a file, bench.txt, instead of the window). To see bench.txt's content type TYPE bench.txt
If your CPU is not included in the table or your best brute force benchmark is very different to the ones above, please email me your benchmarks (the full bench.txt file, please, not a plain number) along with the following info: CPU brand/model/mhz and Windows version you are using.
