The first-ever exhibition on Jack The Ripper, the 19th-Century London
serial killer whose unsolved crimes still haunt the city's folklore,
opened its doors overnight.
Jack The Ripper And The East End at the Museum of Docklands, near where
11 women were knifed to death between 1888 and 1891. "I am down on
whores and I shant quit ripping them till I do get buckled," reads one
letter on display. It was written in red ink, sent to a journalist and
signed "Yours truly, Jack The Ripper".
The killer was never caught and speculation about who was responsible
continues to this day.
