From Yeshiva Student To Nip Fighter

Bennie Fagan carries around a piece of a parachute and speaks to grammar school kids about Jewish war heroes. Naturally the schools don't dare check his story, or his 215 DD military file, but rather accept it all on faith.

War Hero

Benjamin B. Fagan, born 1927, said he graduated High School in 1942.

At 15 yrs old, he claimed to served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as crew chief for a transport airplane in the China-Burma-India theater, flying military supplies and personnel over the hump, the Himalayan Mountains.

Lets Look At The Facts

Young Bennie, born 1927, would be 16 yrs old when he was a crew chief who 'bailed out' out in 1943. It appears Bennie was 15 when he trained to be a crew chief, a critical job requiring special training.

Then, just how does one 'Lose a parachute'?

If one speaks to a class I would assume they would bring their uniform, medals, and pictures, and not just a patch of a parachute. But, I suppose the 'Nips' got his uniform?
