Hefner Was A Drug Abuser

The Hefner of the 1970s was a speed addict, who fuel his workaholism, and sex drive with amphetimines.  His latest documentary also includes the account of an alleged Playboy Enterprises drug scandal that drove Hefner's executive assistant Bobbie Arnstein to suicide in 1975. 7
 

Artstein Was Hefner's Assistant

His former assistant, Bobbie Arnstein, was found dead in a Chicago hotel room after an overdose of drugs in January 1975. Hefner called a press conference to allege that she had been driven to suicide by narcotics agents and federal officers. Hefner further claimed the Government was out to get him because of Playboy's philosophy and its advocacy of more liberal drug laws. 9

Hefner Gets A Break

The narco squad wanted to implicate Hefner, and hoped that Bobbi Arnstein would talk.  According to the film, she chose suicide rather than be pressured to testify falsely against him in a cocaine investigation.

I guess an angel was watching over 'Hef' because Arstein died of an overdose before she could talk. 6
