A Holocaust Treasure

Clara Kramer is a 82 year old Holocaust Survivor who spoke to Juniors and Seniors of  Dunellen High School. Principle Gene Mosley welcomed her to the podium and the assembly was privileged to hear the remarkable story of survival. 

This remarkable event was a once in a lifetime experience for the students and they responded very well.

 

   

 

 

 

 

 

 

   

She Lived Under A House

Clara, and 15 other Jews, survived for twenty months in a crawlspace under a house. The crawlspace had very little air and almost no light.

   

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Two Cups A Water A Day

The area held 15 other people including her immediate family, mother, father and sister. Each person endured rations of 2 cups of water a day to drink and bathe with, as well as small amounts of rotten potatoes to eat.
 

   

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Nazis Shot Her Poppa And Sister

During a fire that had broke out in the upstairs portion of the house, Mrs. Kramer's father and sister fled into the street and were killed by the Nazi's.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

   

She Wrote A Book

Mrs. Kramer kept a diary during her entire time hiding out which is now on display at the Holocaust Museum in Washington DC. Her story will come to life in a book entitled "Clara's War" due for release in April. There is also the possibility of a movie to be made.
