Is A Multicultural Police Department A Good Idea?
Los Angeles police chief, William Bratton, is a 'Perfumed Prince' out
of the New York police dept. It seems his main qualifications are a high
social standing, and his Jewish heritage. His career consists of being a
paper pusher, and a private consultant at Kroll and Goldstein, a federally
connected counter-terrorist agency.
He attended Boston Technical High School, graduating in 1965. He
appears to have dodged Vietnam and served as a stateside MP. He started in
the Boston police, but was dismissed. He was reassigned to the
position of Inspector of Bureaus, a sinecure which was responsible for
liaison with minority and LGBTQ communities. Next he worked as a transit
cop, becoming chief of the New York City Transit Police.
