Fourteen American soldiers died when their helicopter crashed in
northern Iraq on Wednesday, the military said.
Military officials said mechanical failure appeared to have brought down
the Black Hawk UH-60, which crashed during an operation overnight while
traveling with a second helicopter. Lieutenant Colonel Christopher
Garver, a military spokesman in Iraq, said the incident was being
investigated.
