The intense, weeklong search for aviator Steve Fossett has turned up
no sign of his plane, but it has revealed a graveyard of other six small
aircraft that have crashed sometimes decades ago in the rugged,
concealing landscape of western Nevada. That technology has included
precise airborne imaging equipment and infrared scanners. A boat
equipped with sonar was even used to examine the depths of Walker Lake.
It appears NORAD, the US Air Force, and the Nevada National Guard are
supplying planes, and helicopters.
The man leading the search
for Steve Fossett is Joint Commander of NORAD and
US Northern Command.
Who Is Fossett?
Fossett gets a scholarship to Stanford. and in 1968, Fossett received
an MBA from The Olin School of Business at Washington University.
Fossett then became a successful commodities broker in Chicago on the
floor of the Chicago Board Options Exchange. He founded Marathon
Securities and Lakota Trading, from which he made millions on the stock
market. He founded Lakota Trading in 1980.
Like a diamond cutter in Tel Aviv, or a brokerage firm owner in
Chicago, the nationality is taken for granted.
