("NDCC is an admirable job of amassing information to prove that communism is socialism and socialism (a plot to enslave the world) is not a movement of the downtrodden but a scheme supported and directed by the wealthiest of people. (i.e. the Rockefellers)") --Gary Allen's name has popped up in connection with a number of other books written in the right-wing diatribe typical of communist conspiricists. The book, from what I can gather, was widely popular, going into a number of printings. It is interesting in that it places capitalist hegemonic forces (or the "Insiders") in concert with aims of the Bolsheviks, allegedly for the creation of a One World Government. The Rockefellers play a prominent role in the theories revealed in NDCC. [****--CC, OWG] ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- --Beaty, John, The Iron Curtain Over America. 1951. ("Aggressively Christian and patriotic in his attitude, the author goes behind the iron curtain of propaganda and censorship to give his fellow citizens the first comprehensive documented account of the 'insidious forces working from within,' which are seeking to destroy America and Western Christian civilization.") --Let me explain. No, that would take to long. Let me sum up. Germany under the Third Reich is a good Christian nation. The Soviet Union is an evil nation run by Jews. The Jews who entered the United States in the early part of this century were from Eastern Europe and had a natural proclivity toward Godless Communism. Not only that, but they had infiltrated the US government and turned it against Germany, leading us, unnecessarily, into World War II. The author goes to great lengths to explain that the reader, as a proponent of this theory, will be called anti-Semitic and to tell your critic that you are simply distinguishing between "good Jews" and "bad Jews." Sheer, unadulterated stupidity. [*--JC, CP] ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- --Bermanzohn, Paul and Sally, The True Story of the Greensboro Massacre. 1980. ("Why the government conspired with the Klan and Nazis to murder the Communist Workers Party 5 in Greensboro on November 3, 1979. An account by eyewitnesses.") --This book is truly interesting. I'm sure you all know of the Klan's murder of members of the Communist party in Greensboro, NC at a Klan rally. The Communists were part of an organized opposition that was ambushed by the Klan. The book is written by a communist who was there and was shot. It is well documented and it is obvious the authors are on the tip. "Fascist groups are a pool of recruits for the government's dirty work. It's all the same underworld--an incestuous marriage of government agents, "private" white supremacist mercenaries, reactionary Cubans, CIA fronts, and the purely criminal underworld of organized crime." (p.36) Whoa. It was published by a small, communist press and will be very hard to find. But if you do--get a copy. [*****--CIA, N/F] ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- --Bernard, Dr. Raymond, The Hollow Earth. 1969. ("Dr. Bernard says that the true home of the flying saucers is a huge underground world whose entrance is at the North Polar opening. He believes that in the hollow interior of the Earth lives a super-race which wants nothing to do with man on the surface. They launched their flying saucers only after man threatened the world with A-bombs.") --The key words here are "flying saucers" (i.e. vehicles for transportation from the surface of Earth), "super-race" (i.e. Utopia), and the "A-bomb." The theory goes that when humans created and exploded the nuclear bomb, the highly-advanced utopian society which dwells literally "under our noses" was aroused. (The author does not take into account natural occurrences such as earthquakes and volcanoes and their ability to shake the Earth's crust.) This society will, when we destroy ourselves in a nuclear orgy, come and take the survivors to their perfect world in the Earth. Sound a little like Heaven? The theory obviously creates a psychological arena of safety from a world gone MAD. [****--NB, UFO] ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- --Brewer-Giorgio, Gail, Is Elvis Alive?. 1988. ("Did Elvis Presley hoax his own death?") --Don't we all want to believe this. The theory that Elvis is still alive and roaming the Piggly Wiggly's of America is too delicious to ignore, as exemplified in such journalistic endevors as the Weekly World News. Why, you ask? Get the book titled Dead Elvis which chronicles the King's life since his "death." The analysis is that Elvis is the Jesus of the 20th Century--He died, He has arisen, and He will one day come back and sing for you, this country boy who was so unexpectedly catapulted into the forefront of American pop culture. [****] ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- --Bundy, Edgar G., How the Communists Use Religion. 1966. ("The freedom of the Western world is being threatened from a subtle and unsuspected source--the Russian Church, whose so-called 'religious' leaders are actually trained agents of the Soviet Union.") --The scary thing about this book is I halfway believe it. I mean, why did the Russian Orthodox Church join the World Council of Churches in 1961 after holding out for so long? And isn't religion in the Soviet Union abolished? Come on, how did this happen? Granted, the guy who wrote this book is paranoid about the encroachment of "collectivism" in the Church, but it makes sense that the Soviet Union would try to legitimize themselves in this manner and his documentation is actually halfway decent. He found a priest who was also a KGB agent. My, god. I'm falling into the trap. The press, Devin-Adair, also has a number of interesting titles one might pick up if found including I Was An NKVD Agent, and Brainwashing in the Highschools. [***--CC, KGB] ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- --Courtney, Phoebe, Beware Metro and Regional Government. 1973. ("An expose of the plans of those who seek to destroy local self-government in the U.S. and substitute rule by federal 'Metrocrats.'") --Cheaply printed and non-influential, this book rides the rails of the Big Government scare. The implication is the Federal Government is trying to abolish regionalism and local rule through "metropolitan" (implied "city") government. It's interesting Nixon gets rousted for this kind of stuff. Wasn't this guy a Republican? [**] ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- --Goldwater, Barry, The Conscience of a Conservative. 1960. ("The leading conservative thinker in politics today calls for a new approach to domestic problems and cold war strategy.") --I love this book. Ranting about everything from Civil Rights to the Welfare State to the Communist Conspiracy, Goldwater could be the ideological mentor of our very own Jesse Helms. You definitely don't want to be able to claim any relation to this guy. [*****--CC] ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- --Griffen, G. Edward, The Fearful Master: A Second Look at the United Nations. 1964. Published by Western Islands. ("This book should be read by all Americans and demands their thoughtful and immediate attention.") --A beauty from WI. This time it's communist control of the United Nations and their desire for a One World Government. With brainwashing a major subject and chapters titled "Under Every Bed" and "Poison in the Air," you can't go wrong to sit down and digest a little of this harangue. (Note: If interested, see also Victory Denied by Arch Roberts) [****--BW, CC, OWG, UN] ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- --Hargis, Billy James, The Far Left. 1964. ("A report on the history of the Communist Party, USA. Plus: an 'expose' of the American 'hate organizations' that aid and abet Communism. With a through analysis of the assassination of John F. Kennedy; his Communist assassin; and the dishonest media treatment of this tragic event by the disciples of 'the far left.'") --This one ranks with the best in anti-communist literature. Lee Harvey Oswald was a trained communist agent working for the Soviet Union ("The first lie is that there is no conspiracy, that the Communist conspiracy does not exist, and there are not thousands upon thousands of trained Communist agents in this country today, some of them trained, as Lee Harvey Oswald obviously, was, to be expert killers." (sic--p. 9)), the National Education Association and the NAACP are ridden with Communist agents, and the media is thoroughly infested with liberal commie sympathizers. On the very last page a previous owner has written "Please return so someone else can read." This book has it all. [*****--CC, CP, JBS, JEH, JFK, OWG] ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- --Hoover, J. Edgar, Masters of Deceit: The Story of Communism in America and How to Fight It. 1958. ("What the communist bosses are doing to bring America to its knees.") --The veritable Bible of anti-communist literature, this is the work from which all other Communists Conspiracies evolve. No doubt, one could produce a number of marketable t-shirts with by lifting a few quotations. Every patriotic, red-blooded American should read this book. [*****--CC, JEH] ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- --Kirban, Salem, 666: The exciting novel on THE TRIBULATION PERIOD. 1970. --This is one of the funniest "novels" I have ever read. Completely contrived and ludicrous, the author takes the abstract Book of Revelation and creates a fantasy world not unlike a cheap science-fiction movie. Complete with genetic, genocidal warfare, one-hour trips to the moon, "Dr. Curter's SOUND SYNDROME Decibels Chart," and other stunning scientific advances, this book, while not too far on the conspiracy tip, is fun for the whole family and makes a really great study into the concept of "Future Shock." [*****--BP, NB, OWG] ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- --Lindsay, Gordon, Red China in Prophecy. 1972. --I don't know how people are going to interpret the Book of Revelation now that the Soviet Union has disintegrated. At least there's still China. [**--BP, CP] ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- --Lindsey, Hal, The Late Great Planet Earth. 1970. ("Is this the era of the Antichrist as foretold by Moses and Jesus?") --What is it about the 70's that made everybody and their dog want to interpret the times as a-changin' to Armageddon. This book, dubbed by the New York Times as the #1 Best Seller of the Decade, was extremely popular. It's ironic because the whole of the interpretation was based on moral degeneration and, of course, the Soviet Union. As the author states, "Many Bible students in recent years tried to fit the events of World War I and II to the prophetic signs which would herald the immanent return of Christ. Their failure discredited prophecy." (p. 33) Hey, at least moral degeneration is still around. [***--BP] ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- --Lindsted, Robert, Certainty of Bible Prophecy. 1991. ("Was the slaughter of Iraqi soldiers and their unbelievable surrender and lack of will to fight described by Jeremiah?") --And we continue to interpret. Actually, this book is somewhat boring compared to the quotation from the push on the back cover. There will always be people who need to soothe their conscience by justifying war from a religious standpoint. God was on our side. Yeah, right. The Military Industrial Complex was on our side. [**--BP] ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- --Malgo, Wim, In the Beginning Was the End. 1983. ("HOW, WHEN, and WHY the world must end . . . and what will be after it?") --It's funny, nearly every Biblical prophecy book tells of the Roman World Empire. This would be fine had it really covered the world and not just the relatively small area around the Mediterranean Sea, but it didn't. China, India, Ethiopia, as well as the Aztecs and Incas all had thriving metropolitan civilizations at the time of the Romans. It never ceases to amaze me how ethnocentric people are. This book is pretty boring. [**--BP] ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- --Meldau, Fred John, Why We Believe in Creation not in Evolution. 1959. ("Thousands of American scientists are confirmed 'scientific socialists,' bent on bringing to eventual fruition their ideal of 'scientific socialism.' Communists know they do not have a chance to make America communist by means of a frontal attack on our ideology. But they know they have a very good chance of bringing in communism through the back door of state socialism and that is what they are trying to do.") --The basic premise for this book is that the world is just too damn intricate for there not to be a God. I do like the Communist aspect to it, though. This book reminds me of a marquee I saw in front of a Freewill Baptist Church which stated, "Evolution--Making a Monkey out of Man." The attitude of this book can be summed up by that remark. [***--CC, CP] ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- --Nobel, David A., The Marxist Minstrels: A Handbook on the Communist Subversion of Music. 1974. ("Following the example of their phrenological master (Marx), the Communists have openly declared culture (music, art, and literature) to be their sphere of weaponry.") --Nobel is hands-down my favorite communist conspiracy writer. He curses everything from rock'n'roll ["African jungle beat music"--a little racist, eh] to folk music in this 300 page extravaganza. One of the coolest things about it is not because it has chapters titled "Communist use of Hypnotism" and "Folk Music and the Negro Revolution," but because it is so well documented. I mean, this guy gives the reader lead toward any related literature. Heck, 50 of the 300 pages are notes!--an astounding number for books on the Communist Conspiracy. Keep a look out for his other writings, including Communism, Hypnotism and the Beatles, Rhythm, Riots and Revolution, and The Slaughter of the Innocent. I will pay anybody back if anything by this guy is found. [*****--BW, CC, CP] ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- --Otis, George, Forward by Pat Boone, the solution to CRISIS-AMERICA. 1970. --While this book opens with a mock drama of a person waking up only to find Communists have taken over during the night ("Do not try to adjust your dial. We are on all frequencies"), it is actually pretty tame compared to other anti-communist reading. It warns you that the peace symbol is actually an upside-down, broken cross and therefore Satanic and that the enemy will try to throw a monkey-wrench into the economic stability of the United States (Otis is a "millionaire industrialist"), but the author comes short of exposing infiltration or accusing the communists of carrying out a conspiracy. It's still pretty interesting and a decent read. [***--CP] ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- --Reed, Sally D., NEA (National Education Association): Propaganda Front of the Radical Left. 1984. ("Nothing short of total control of the young generations mental and moral development will satisfy the NEA.") --This book is in the neo-communist conspiracy vein. It calls the NEA Marxist and Red, but never really says that they are in any way backed by a larger organization or the Soviet Union. The basis for the book, the way in which children are educated, or better still, what they are taught, is one of volcanic measure. Arguments about local versus state or federal control of curriculum are common and it does not surprise me that one so bent on local control would so vindictively attack it's opposition. [***] ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- --Roberts, Major Arch E., Victory Denied. 1966. ("National freedom of action is being artfully stolen away by this bogus outfit called the United Nations, which is trying to impose a World Government by stealth on the unthinking peoples of the world.") --Arch Roberts was censored by the US Military in 1962 under the "Fulbright Memorandum," a policy urged by Sen. John Fulbright and passed by Kennedy in 1961. The measure stopped ranking officers from indoctrinating their troops with communist conspiracy rhetoric because it reflected badly on the Administration's social programs. Arch went to court arguing freedom of speech and won, giving him back the ability to express his world view to a captive audience and inspiring him to write this book. And what a wonderful book it is. In the World According to Arch, the United Nations is an organization set-up and run by communists for propagation of their own dubious agenda. The end result will be a One World Government. [****--CIA, CC, JBS, OWG, UN] ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- --Ruppelt, Edward J., The Report on Unidentified Flying Objects. 1956. ("Air Force Project Blue Book") --One of these days I'm gonna sit down and read this. Written by the Former Head of the Air Force Project Blue book, it was the "first time that anyone, either military or civilian, had brought together in one document all the facts on this fascinating subject." I'm not so sure about "all the facts," but, after skimming through it for a while, it does look like pretty interesting material. I'm hoping to find information on a huge government cover-up and suppression of evidence in relation to the topic at hand. I don't think it will be in here. [***--UFO] ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- --Save Our Schools, Who's Ruining Our Schools?: The case against the NEA Teacher Union. 1988. ("The NEA has pushed school books calling for leftist indoctrination aimed at turning today's elementary students into tomorrow's campus radicals.") --I'm upset because after reading the chapters "NEA: Destroying Local Control" and "Promoting a Nation of Hate," the following chapter, "NEA's Policy on Promiscuity and Homosexuality," is missing. The book jumps from page 76 to 109 because of an error on the part of the publisher. Oh, well. It's pretty much like Propaganda Front of the Radical Left. Ya read one, ya read both of them. [**] --Schlafly, Phyllis, A Choice Not An Echo. 1964. ("The inside story of how American Presidents are chosen.") --Boy, isn't it nice to know we're getting the inside story. My lungs nearly collapsed right there in the thrift store when I found this one. I didn't know Phyllis was so worried that Goldwater would "lose" the bid for the Republican Party in 1964 to Rockefeller. But, thanks to the "grassroots" and this book (which was passed out at the 1964 Convention), democracy remains supreme in our country. "Phyllis Schlafly stands for everything that has made America great and for those things which will keep it that way." [****] ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- --Schlafly, Phyllis and Chester Ward, The Gravediggers. 1964. ("The story 'managed news' suppressed--Who is really risking nuclear war?") --My lungs did collapse when this one turned up. The mental picture one receives seeing June Cleaver ranting about nuclear assault is too comical to ignore. Her basic argument is the Soviet Union will not have to "bury us," we are doing that quite well ourselves, thank you. How? By cutting into defense spending we are allowing the USSR to move ahead of us in the arms race. Everybody knows if the Soviets see they have a clear road to a military victory they will attack us. Hell, they just "set off a series of multi-megaton bombs many times larger then anything the US has exploded before or since." Oh, that was 1961. [***--CC, NB] ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- --Soon-Coming World-Shaking Events!. 1978. ("Tomorrow's News--TODAY!") --This has to be the book after which Robert Tilton modeled his mailings. Racked with LARGE red lettering, pre-underlined sentences, and an occasional picture of a nuclear submarine, Soon-Coming World-Shaking Events As Foretold by God Almighty is a wonderland of color and Biblical enlightenment. "Now, let us get down to ABSOLUTE, BIBLICAL FACTS!" Be on the lookout for the Soon-Coming World Ruler Anti-Christ. He'll be easy to spot because he's the reincarnation of the Roman Emperor Nero Caesar. "Why Nero?," you ask. Besides killing his own mother, if you add up the letters in his name in the ancient language of Aramaic, it equals 666! It's insights like this that makes SCWSEAFBGA such a joy to read. [*****--BP, CP, OWG] ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- --Smoot, Dan, The BUSINESS END of Government. 1973. Published by Western Islands. ("An in-depth look at how Federal regulators threaten to destroy the American businessman.") --This book is somewhat of a disappointment after reading other publications by WI. Even though it has a cool cover of the barrel of a revolver pointed at you super-imposed over the Capital building, it is little more than right-wing declamation about environmental legislation like the Clean-Air Act. However, Richard Nixon takes it on the chin, which, in and of itself, gives it a necessary ingredient for a look over. [**] ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- --Stormer, John A., None Dare Call It Treason. 1964. ("1964 is a year of crisis and decision. Will America continue to aid the communist enemy, to disarm in the face of danger, to bow before communist dictators in every corner of the earth? The decision is yours!") --This is one of the booksthat started it off for me. I stumbled over it at my Grandmother's house. She didn't know anything about it, so it must have belonged to my Grandfather. No doubt he was not the only one who read it--the book is commonly found in thrift stores across America, an attestment to its popularity. Stormer, in this book, takes an "historical" appointment in giving the timeline of communism an how it got to where it is today (in 1964). What a long and winding road it is. Stormer makes it known, in no uncertain terms, that the evolution of communism is the most dubious in the chronicle of our planet and is a clear and impending threat to very person living, or at least everyone in the United States (i.e. the white middle class). Based mainly on Congressional reports (and we know they're not biased), the book is well documented, be it a bit fabricated. As a pull from the back cover states, "You won't finish NDCT without concluding that America is in serious trouble." At least that's what Stormer wants you to think. To tell ya the truth, I think he's an agent. [*****--CC, CIA, JBS, JEH, OWG, UN] ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- --Stormer, John A., The Death of a Nation. 1968. ("America is dying because few ask WHY?") --Star Wars has The Empire Strikes Back and NDCT has The Death of a Nation, although it's not as good. But can you really expect him to top the original, best-selling communist conspiracy? If you look at the year this was written, you will notice we were deep into a generation's blatant rebellion and rejection of the Establishment and its War. It's no wonder Stormer adds a chapter on Biblical Prophecy in this lecture titled "Are we Nearing the End of the Age?". From the "War in the Streets" to the "War in Vietnam" to the "War in the Churches," Stormer asks, "Why Are Our Leaders Betraying US?" Maybe he should talk with David Nobel about a possible culture war with the communists using rock'n'roll as the weapon. ("The story of John Birch was carefully kept from the American people by the Communist sympathizers in our government at that time.") --Welch, the founder of the John Birch Society, chronicles the life of JB in this dandy little biography. The allusion of Birch being a Christ Figure is quite obvious as Welch uses this angle to build his own conspiratorial malediction. By using Birch, he is able to put humanity to his own political world view, thus making people more sympathetic to his cause. And what a cause it is.
