This is a freeware version that is not as well documented as the commercial version, however it is usable and very functional. It is quite powerful and has large parts libraries. It does, however, have a limit on the amount of IC's one can use in a design. It can output Gerber files.

This is a circuit simulator for Dos, Windows, and Macintosh Operating Systems. The Public Domain version is quite functional. Well worth the download, but you have to put some time into learning it.

There is plenty of spice_info information online to make the use of this tool worth your while.
This demo is pretty crippled in that it doesn't export out a usable format. However, you can check out the FAQ here for more information. One thing that is nice is if you are a HAM, you can get a full working copy for $299.
This is a very nice EDA tool that allows 20 components and 200 connections with the demo versions. For the most part this will be acceptable for the garage experimenter.
