Here is proof as to why no-one can get the 'eckbox' working. Quotes from eckbox hardware pages: "Notes on AD converter selection: pick out a 1 channel, 8 bit converter with an insanely high number of samples per second. 1 GSPS if possible" and quote "to find out which pins are the 8 digital outputs. Connect these to pins 2-9 of your 25 pin parallel port extender cable. Be sure that output lead #8 goes to pin #9 on your parallel cable, #7 goes to #8 and soforth. " Without even building the hardware or looking at the software i know their method will not work because of the above two quotes. >From those quotes you see there is no handshaking or buffer between the 'eckbox' and the PC this means the software simply records everything that comes across the lpt port. the max sample rate you can get out of a high speed lpt port is 1m/s (under idea conditions) their hardware guys say get the fastest sampling ADC available even suggests 1GSPS the lpt card can only handle 1MSPS. Which means the so called 'Eckbox device' is clearly missing about 999000000 samples per second. It is only seeing a random and sometimes between ADC sampling cycles (bad data)10% of the data inputted from the 'eckbox'. I don't care what kind of software you are using it simply wont work since no software can accurately guess what 90% of the data is suppose to be.. They also include no pictures of any kind of working prototype......... But i do wonder if it could work over a USB 2 connection (with less then 1GSPS data rate ADC)
