ABC News, Sacramento took footage of the event. We are opposing involuntary human experimentation. We believe that past victims and their families of human experimentation conducted by the U.S. Military and the Federal Agencies should be recognized and given compensation.

In The News

*Reports of spying on American citizens by the NSA (National Security Agency)

The NSA has grown into the nation's largest intelligence service and is accused of reading e-mail, tapping cellular phones, and putting citizens under surveillance. 60 Minutes suggested the NSA had bugged a U.S. Senator. A European Parliament report alleged the NSA has tapped communications accross Europe and has engaged in industrial espionage. During Congressional Hearings this year (2000), the NSA was accused of using other countries to spy on U.S. citizens. The Echelon Project is a joint satellite surveillance project among the United States, Britain, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. During Congressional Hearings of the House Intelligence Committee, George Tenet, head of the CIA, and Lt. Gen. Michael V. Hayden, head of the NSA, denied these charges and claimed they only spy on European companies when they "bribe, lie, cheat or steal."

*Mohamed Al-Fayed is sueing the U.S. Government demanding that the CIA release documents and aerial surveillance of his son Doti Al-Fayed and Princess Diana. John McNamara, Director of Harrods Security (handeling the claim) said, "They monitored many of her conversations and apparently, passed the information to MI6. There are at least 39 documents consisting of 1,054 pages held by the NSA alone. The NSA however refuses to release documents or even publicly acknowledge the existence of the tapes by hiding behind the cloak of national security. How can the innocent conversations of two people very much in love, possibly jeopardize the security of the United States of America?" This was reported on CNN Headline News on 8-30-2000.

*A dozen black U.S. Secret Service agents are sueing the Secret Service in a racism lawsuit. The multi-million dollar class action suit filed earlier this year (2000), alleges discrimination in hiring, asignment, training and promotions. Examples are cited such as the Secret Service's participation in The Good Ol' Boy Round Up in Polk County, Tennessee. The agents' attorney, David Shaffer, suggested settleling the suit by instituting the same reforms in the Secret Service that were recently made in the ATF. The Secret Service refused. The agents claim they have been targeted for reprisal after filing the suit.

*The SWAT team kills an 11 year old boy during a DEA drug raid in Modesto, California. The SWAT team stormed the home of an accused drug trafficker, his wife, 8 year old daughter, 11 year old son and 14 year old son, after a nine month investigation by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration. On September 13, 2000, SWAT team member David Hawn shot 11 year old Alberto Sepulveda in the back with a shotgun. Hawn claimed the gun went off accidentally. The Modesto Police Department and the Stanislaus County District Attorney's Office are conducting investigations.

*A resident of Stockton, California files criminal and civil lawsuits against Gen. Augusto Pinochet. Amador Aguila, then of San Antonio, Chile, was arrested on September 27, 1973. Aguila, a 19 year old student, had been protesting against the ousting of democraticly elected Salvador Allende by a military coup. Soldiers stormed his home in the middle of the night and brought him to a military garrison where he was interrogated, beaten and electricly shocked. After two and a half years, Aguila was released, deported and moved to California. In 1996, prosecutors in Spain charged Pinochet with violating international humanitarian law: 1,102 illegal executions and deaths under torture as well as 2,095 "disappeared persons." Pinochet came to power following a 1973 coup supported and funded by the CIA.

*Currently the U.S. Military is occupying the country of Iraq under the pretense of economic sanctions. U.S. Military bombs and missles are currently being deployed against Iraqi targets often killing Iraqi citizens. 10 years after the liberation of Kuwait, what could be the objectives of this continued military occupation?
