Where to Catch Out in Oregon

Eugene
Eugene is SP's boxcar yard and most trains will start or end here.
Klamath Falls
BN is a very hobo friendly road. There is a daily NB out of K Falls on BN for Vancouver, across the river from Portland - I would imagine you could findout departure time in K Falls from BN - likely not a single bull there. There is of course a southbound when you want to come back (or what I'd recommend, combine it w/ an SP trip as Willamette Pass is very nice). (The nice thing about BN north of K Falls is the DesChutes River Canyon) There is also a train each way on BN between K Falls and Pasco, but the scenery isn't as nice if that's what you're going for.

Through trains like the LABRF (Los Angeles-Brooklyn Yard Forwarder) generally clear Klamath Falls fairly rapidly, while manifests can sit around awhile, even be broken up and reassembled a bit, since this is the Modoc Line junction, and drop point for local freight. Bulls are fairly active in Klamath Falls (one's assigned there), and monitor most incoming and outgoing trains.
