GHU.CA, The Grass Hopper Unit; a Canadian telecom enthusiast and urban explorers playground

Waterloo, Ontario -

Founded on June 18 2000, 'The Grass Hopper Unit' is a non-profit Canadian web-site containing a full range of specialty libraries.

GHU's main attraction is the full disclosure technically focused telecommunications security papers for the enthusiast, and that curious neophyte who may be wanting to absorb just a little bit of knowledge in this ever progressing field of research.

What also makes The Grass Hopper Unit such a fascinating site is that it has a number of first person true stories about the various urban explorations that its creator (Magma) and associate (Miklos) have had; from infiltrating abandoned underground tunnels to exploring an abandoned hospital.

"GHU offers a simple site design that loads quickly, even for those on a dial-up connection. It isn't entirely text based... there are many pictures to go along with the urban explorations and phone phreaking articles.", said Magma (GHU's founder and webmaster).

Have a thing for interesting phone numbers? GHU has that too. Hundreds of up-to-date hand scanned local and toll-free numbers containing listings of voice mail boxes, PBXs, private company DISAs, loops, and extenders are available in simple compiled texts.

As the fan base and outside contributions grow, The Grass Hopper Unit will continue to strengthen its position as one of Canada's premier phreaking and urban exploration sites.
