!*!@*!*@*!*@*!@*!*@*!*@!**@!**@! AT&T Easy Reach-800 Numbers; what they are and how they work by: The Clone !*!@*!*@*!*@*!@*!*@*!*@!**@!**@! Once apon a time a couple of weeks ago, I was skanning the usual 800-909 prefix looking for Vmb's, Pbx's, and Ani's, when I came across a number. The automated voice said "AT&T Easy Reach 800. To complete your call, please enter or speak each number of the access code now." I was like "Dude! This must be a voice mail box." After doing the usual brute force hacking on it, discovered that it wasn't a voice mail box but infact a calling forwarding number. When you enter a number, it will either let you continue typing more numbers or it will tell you "Your response is not the access code for this 800 number. Please enter the access code now." Remember, you're allowed only three trys until it says "You have not provided the access code for this 800 number. You call could not be completed. Please check the 800 number and dial again." Then it hangs up on it. The thing that pisses me off about this system is that you can't enter a number until the automated voice is finished speaking. It must be their idea of "security". So much for security (haha). When I played around with some more of the AT&T Easy Reach 800 numbers, I quickly learned that the access code is two or three digits. If you're going to hack one of these, your best bet is to start with 00, 01, 02, 03, etc. Until you come across the correct access code. Another thing I found was that one particular "Easy Reach 800 number" sometimes has more than one access code. In other words, more than one person uses the same account. When you finally do get a correct access code (CDN: Call Distribution Network code), it calls the person who owns the account. There isn't much to do with this but prank calling (possibly social engineering). My personal favorite thing to say is "excuse me, but are you aware that you have a one-eight-hundred number?" Their usual response is "Uhh no. Who is this?" (You can think of something creative to say) What I'd really like to find out is if your number shows up on the persons phone or if the AT&T Easy-reach 800 number does. Until then, go and play with these numbers and piss off some AT&T customers. Make me proud.
