Foreword -------- This article is directed as a way to duplicate and manipulate data of a Flash document with an XML reference. This article makes the following assumptions: - you understand the terms Flash & XML if even as a novice - you presently have Flash Installed (document uses CS4 but others work) - you have the ability to read and discern XML (very similar to HTML syntax) - you are responsible enough to use this information appropriately Your Skill levels should be: - Flash: Basic understanding of the controls, and program operation - ActionScript: not needed - Graphic Design: not needed - Markup Syntax: Experience with HTML or XML is needed for editing and ripping - HTML: Good working knowledge The setup for this article will illustrate how to copy & edit a flash template from an online source. Some creative thinking may be needed for other examples but I will be sure to point out some of the methods I have found to work the best. Details ------- First the example we will use is: XXXX://www.templatemonster.com/flash-templates/26890.html This is a preview of a template already created that we will use to pull apart and rebuild. 1. Using my browser I will view page source and find a direct link to the demo flash site.
