Connecticut Survivalist Alliance Signals Intelligence Unit (CSASIU)

Affiliate Submitted Federal Frequency Guide

Volume II – Secret Service

(Version 1.0 – May 2009)

Public Version Declassified

Intelligence-gathering by interception of radio signals is called SIGnals INTelligence (SIGINT). When intercepting communications between people it is called COMmunications INTelligence. (COMINT).

As sensitive information is often encrypted, SIGINT often involves the use of cryptanalysis. However, traffic analysis (the study of who is signaling whom and in what quantity), can often produce valuable information, even when the messages themselves cannot be decrypted.

The CSASIU has also found that human apathy plays a major part in the effectiveness of encrypted communications. As encryption communication systems advance, radio operators are often behind the times in proper communication procedures or knowledge of their radio systems. We often hear communications that should be encrypted, or thought to be encrypted, in the wild.

The CSASIU plans on continually updating this report and periodically updating it online. This frequency list is compiled by user submitted frequencies to the CSA's SIGINT Unit.

These submissions are compiled into a single PDF and distributed FREE of charge on the CSA web site for the Patriot (Sovereign-Citizen), Militia and Survivalist communities.

.

Radio, scanner or shortwave enthusiasts may submit their lists to:

csa_sigint@yahoo.com

You may submit anonymously or be given credit in this PDF, the choice is yours.

The CSASIU cannot attest to the accuracy of all the reported frequencies from these user submissions. These frequencies are provided for informational purposes only.

The CSASIU and the CSA are not responsible for the content, accuracy or completeness of this information.

In the Sept 2004 edition of the 'Fed Files' in MT magazine, editor Chris Perron mentions a 400 MHz portable trunk system that at the time was in a plain white RV and used a 50 foot pneumatic mast. Supposedly this system could be trunked by using a base freq of 406.10 and step 25; however the audio was all DES.

The frequencies mentioned were;

407.1250

407.8000

408.5250
