Abortion
Lies
In 2001, Senator Barack Obama was the only member of the
Illinois senate to speak against a bill that would have
recognized premature abortion survivors as "persons." The
bill was in response to a Chicago-area hospital that was leaving such
babies to die. Obama voted "present" on the bill after denouncing
it. It passed the state Senate but died in a state house
committee.
In 2003, a similar bill came before Obama's health committee. He
voted against it. But this time, the legislation was slightly
different. This latter version was identical to the federal
Born-Alive Infants Protection Act, which by then had already passed the
U.S. Senate unanimously (with a hearty endorsement even from abortion
advocate Sen. Barbara Boxer) and had been signed into law by President
Bush.
Sen. Obama is currently misleading people about what he voted against,
specifically claiming that the bill he voted against in his committee
lacked "neutrality" language on Roe v. Wade. The bill did contain
this language. He even participated in the unanimous vote to put
it in.
Obama's work against the bill to protect premature babies represents one
of two times in his political career, along with his speech against the
Iraq war, that he really stuck out his neck for something that might
hurt him politically. Unlike his Iraq speech, Obama is deeply
embarrassed about this one -- so embarrassed that he is offering a
demonstrable falsehood in explanation for his actions.
Fortunately, the documents showing the truth are now available.
Explosive Audio Found Obama arguing against BAIPA (02:14)
This audio documents Obama's evolving BAIPA lies. In it, Obama
coldly claims two doctors helping a baby born alive after a botched
abortion would be a burden for the aborting mother when he is arguing
against the Born Alive Infant Protection Act (BAIPA) at the Illinois
state legislature April 2002.
Afghanistan
For months now, Obama has been saying that the real war on terror
is in Afghanistan and that he was going to send two additional brigades
and increase the pressure on the Taliban.
Well, that was then --
this is now, February, 2009:
Obama has
demanded that American defense chiefs review their strategy in
Afghanistan before going ahead with a troop surge.
There is
concern among senior Democrats that the military is preparing to send up
to 30,000 extra troops without a coherent plan or exit strategy.
The Pentagon was set to announce the deployment of 17,000 extra
soldiers and marines last week but Robert Gates, the defense secretary,
postponed the decision after questions from Obama.
The president
was concerned by a lack of strategy at his first meeting with Gates and
the US joint chiefs of staff last month in "the tank," the secure
conference room in the Pentagon. He asked: "What's the endgame?"
and did not receive a convincing answer.
Larry Korb, a defense
expert at the Center for American Progress, a Washington think tank,
said: "Obama is exactly right. Before he agrees to send 30,000
troops, he wants to know what the mission and the endgame is."
Leading Democrats fear Afghanistan could become Obama's "Vietnam
quagmire."
Ambition Lie
Obama said,
"I'm not running because I'm trying to fulfill some long-held plan."
Oh, really?
Iis Darmawan, 63, Obama's teacher in 1970, remembers him as an
exceptionally tall and curly haired child who quickly picked up the local
language and had sharp math skills. "He wrote an essay titled, 'I
Want To Become President,'" the teacher said.
In 1971,
Obama's sister
Maya, has also
said, "There was always a joke between my mom and Barack that he
would be the first black president."
In 1991,
David B. Wilkins , the Kirkland and Ellis professor of law,
said he advised
Obama to become a Supreme Court Clerk. "Obama recognized the honor in
pursuing that post," Wilkins said, but quickly added that he wasn't interested.
"He said that he wanted to write a book about his life and his father, go back
to Chicago, get back into the community, and run for office there. He knew
exactly what he wanted and went about getting it done," Wilkins said.
In 1992, Obama's brother-in-law, Craig Robinson pulled him aside and
asked about his plans. "He said, 'I think I’d like to teach at
some point in time, and maybe run for public office,'" recalls Robinson,
who assumed Senator Obama meant he'd like to run for city alderman.
"He said no -- at some point he'd like to run for the U.S. Senate.
And then he said, 'Possibly even run for President at some point.'
And I was like, 'Okay, but don't say that to my Aunt Gracie.' I
was protecting him from saying something that might embarrass him."
In 1993, Obama began teaching at the
University of Chicago Law School, where he declined to pursue
a tenure-track post, hoping to save time for politics.
The one thread, that remains consistent, throughout Obama's life, is his
teacher's, mentor's and friend's recollection of Obama's single-minded pursuit of
high political office.
Auto Lie
Obama
botched his facts in a speech criticizing the U.S. auto industry for
"investing in bigger and faster cars while foreign competitors invested
in more fuel-efficient technology."
Obama stated that "while our fuel standards haven't moved from 27.5
miles per gallon in two decades, both China and Japan have surpassed us,
with Japanese cars now getting an average of 45 miles to the gallon."
But Toyota, which should know, has responded, "No carmaker gets 45 mpg; ours is closer to
30 mpg."
Well, we're glad to see Obama's shifting the blame from the consumer to
the automakers. That must explain why the Illinois Senator and
Presidential candidate owns a HEMI-powered
V8 Chrysler 300C.
Obviously it's Chrysler's fault Obama
bought a big 5.7-liter engine from them -- he just didn't have a choice.
Bin Laden Lie
Barack Obama suggested last night that removing Osama bin Laden from
the battlefield was
no longer essential and that America's security goals could be
achieved merely by keeping al-Qaeda "on the run".
"My preference
obviously would be to capture or kill him," he said. "But if we
have so tightened the noose that he's in a cave somewhere and can't even
communicate with his operatives then we will meet our goal of protecting
America."
His comments, in a CBS interview, represent a
significant watering down of the "dead or alive" policy pursued by
President Bush since the terror attacks of September 11, 2001. They also
appear to contradict Obama's own statements made in the election
campaign.
As recently as October 7, in a presidential debate,
Obama said: "We will kill bin Laden. We will crush al-Qaeda. That has to
be our biggest national security priority."
Obama must have a mouse in his
pocket when he says, "But if we
have so tightened the noose..." He is describing a situation that
he had nothing to do with. George Bush is the man who tightened
that noose and Obama was against the president's actions the whole way.
Now he takes credit for it. A frequent practice of Obama -- taking
credit for the work of others.
Birth Lies
Obama's terror law speech was profoundly candid. Over and over again, in
words that were at times eloquent and at times simple, the president
conceded the limitations of the executive branch's ability to easily
or quickly solve some of the very same legal issues that beguiled the
Bush Administration for nearly eight years.
During the speech,
Obama said, "I will never hide the truth because it is
uncomfortable."
If that isn't the biggest pile of horse
manure ever!
For
more than two years,
Obama has employed teams of lawyers in a dozen states to hide
the truth surrounding his birth, college, travel and medical
records. Who does this guy think he's kidding?
Birth Lies
The Born Conspiracy
By Ron Polarik, Ph.D.
Dr. Polarik's final report is the culmination of over four months of
intensive, empirical research, the sole purpose of which has been to determine
if the images and photographs posted on the Internet are true
reproductions of a genuine document purported to be Obama's original
birth certificate.
In his report, Dr. Polarik, who holds a Ph.D. in Instructional Media and
specializes in computer graphics with over 20 years experience with
computers, printers and typewriters, provides conclusive and irrefutable evidence
that the Certificate of Live Birth (COLB) image created and distributed by
Obama's campaign to the Daily Kos, Annenberg's Factcheck, and the St.
Petersburg Times, and Politifact, is, unquestionably, a false
identification document.
Furthermore, there is conclusive and irrefutable evidence that the
photos taken by Annenberg's Factcheck, in collusion with the Obama
campaign, are themselves, false identification documents, having been
made from the same false identification document image, as well as from
additional false identification documents created for the same purpose;
namely, to proffer these false identification documents as true
reproductions of a genuine, Hawaii-issued and certified, "Certification
of Live Birth" document, and thereby, intentionally deceive the American
public into believing that Barack Hussein Obama is a
natural-born
citizen[NaturalBornCitizen.htm - MISSING] of the United States, and thereby, fully qualified to become
their President.
Sadly, mainstream media have totally ignored this inconvenient truth and
are not even been willing to even look at this birth certificate issue.
They are all still in-the-tank for Obama, but even more so now that he
is in line to be President. They all bought into the lies and
fraudulent documents proffered up as evidence on Obama's qualifications.
They have been too quick to label as "trash" or "garbage" any legitimate
questions asked about Obama's real birth certificate. Even
high-ranking governmental officials in the state of Hawaii where Obama
was allegedly born, won't reveal what's on Obama's original birth
certificate. All they have said is that they have it. They
have not said (1) where Obama was born, (2) when Obama was born, or (3)
even to whom Obama was born.
The answer to "What's on Barack Obama's real, original birth
certificate" ranks right up there with some of the great mysteries of
our time -- and that is really hard to swallow. That a man,
with a dubious background, has been elected to the highest office of the
greatest superpower in the world without ever having to prove who he
says he is! That is not "nutty," that's just plain insane!
With all that said, and without further ado, I present to you my final
and complete report on Barack Obama's bogus birth certificate, The Born
Conspiracy.

Internet access, go get a cup of coffee when you click the link.
Birth Lies
Earth Frisk Blog
says they have contacted every hospital
in Honolulu and says there is no record of Obama's birth at any Hawaii hospital
and no record for Obama's mother at any Hawaii hospital.
All of the following hospitals were called or visited from November 20 through
December 2nd, 2008. It was confirmed that OBAMA was not born in any
hospital in Honolulu County! NONE!
Hospital employees were bribed and some gave info for free.
Earth Frisk Blog contends they were pretty detailed in
their calls and visits thanks to dozens of native
Hawaiian patriots. To the College Republicans all over the Island kudos.
You can look at
every hospital here and call or visit any of them.
Everyone has a family member working in a hospital. Talk, pay and bribe. You can file freedom of information
acts, you can do everything and anything you wish.
Barack Obama was never born in a hospital in Hawaii as
claimed.
Only his original,
vault-copy birth certificate, that he has
had sealed will have this info. Will the Supreme Court
force it open and thus preserve the Constitution of the
United States?
Campaign Lies
The
Los Angeles Times reports that
in an interview on ABC's "This Week," President-elect Obama acknowledged that
not everything he promised to do during the campaign would be able to happen
quickly.
In particular, he said, he
was unlikely to close the Guantanamo Bay detention center in the first 100 days
of his presidency. The
Financial Times says the remarks
"may prove disappointing to some of his supporters."
In a front-page story titled "Obama Signals His
Reluctance To Look Into Bush Policies," the
New York Times reports
President-elect Obama "signaled in an interview broadcast Sunday that he was
unlikely to authorize a broad inquiry into Bush administration programs like
domestic eavesdropping or the treatment of terrorism suspects." At the
Central Intelligence Agency, "in particular, many officers flatly oppose any
further review and may protest the prospect of a broad inquiry into their past
conduct."
The
Washington Times notes
that "the most popular question on the Obama transition team's Web site
is whether he will appoint a special prosecutor to investigate torture
and warrantless wiretapping conducted by the Bush administration."
William Kristol writes in the
New York Times, "Perhaps
the president-elect was just being polite. Or perhaps he just
enjoys torturing (metaphorically!) some of his previously most ardent
supporters who want Dick Cheney tried as a war criminal."
Campaign Lies
In After only two months in office, President Obama may have
fallen short on a number of his campaign promises.
1: Sunlight
Before Signing -- "When there is a bill that ends up on my desk as the
president, you the public will have five days to look online and find
out what's in it before I sign it," he said.
2: Capital gains tax
elimination -- Just weeks prior to the election, Obama advisers Austan
Goolsbee and Jason Furman told the Wall Street Journal that Obama
planned tax cuts that included "the elimination of capital gains taxes
for small businesses and start-ups."
3: New American jobs tax
credit -- During his transition, Obama's promised to provide a $3,000
refundable tax credit to existing businesses for every additional
full-time U.S. employee hired in 2009 and 2010.
4: Hiatus on
401(k) penalties -- In October 2008, Obama released his "Rescue Plan for
the Middle-Class" in which he promised to allow financially distressed
Americans to withdraw up to $10,000 from their 401(k) accounts and
retirement savings without having to pay penalties. They would only pay
income taxes on the amount.
5: No jobs for lobbyists -- "I am in
this race to tell the corporate lobbyists that their days of setting the
agenda in Washington are over. I have done more than any other candidate
in this race to take on lobbyists - and won. They have not funded my
campaign, they will not run my White House, and they will not drown out
the voices of the American people when I am president."
6:
Earmark reform -- at the first presidential debate in Oxford, Miss.,
Obama declared, "[W]e need earmark reform. And when I'm president, I
will go line by line to make sure that we are not spending money
unwisely."
7: Bring troops home in 16 months -- Even as combat
troops are brought home, Pentagon officials have said fresh units will
continue deploying to Iraq.
8: Sign "Freedom of Choice Act" --
Obama expressed his support for the sweeping plan that would repeal all
national and state regulations of abortion passed over the last 35
years.
9: $4,000 college credit -- Obama pledged to make college
"affordable for all Americans" when he announced his American
Opportunity Tax Credit.
No. 10: Transparency -- On the White
House website, the Obama administration claims it will be "the most open
and transparent in history.
Obama
filed
his Federal Elections Commission (FEC)
Form 2,
Statement of Candidacy, on February 12, 2007. It was stamped "Received"
at the FEC Mail Center at 2:39 PM, that date.
The first entry, Item 1. (a) Name of Candidate (In Full), contains
the entry "Barack Obama." Item 7. identifies his Principal
Campaign Committee (2008) as "Obama for America." Obama's
signature boldly appears under the statement, "I certify that I have
examined this Statement and to the best of my knowledge and belief it is
true, correct and complete."
On September 15, 2008, a second FEC Form 2 was
filed,
adding "Biden, Joseph R." On this form, Obama certifies himself in
entry 1. (a) Name of Candidate (In Full), as "Obama, Barack." The
complete 1. (a) entry is, "Obama, Barack/Biden, Joseph R." This
form is unsigned, containing the typewritten entry, "Obama,
Barack/Biden, Joseph R." in the Signature block.
FEC Form 2 clearly states, "Note: Submission of false, erroneous
or incomplete information may subject the person signing this Statement
to penalties of 2 U. S. C. §437g."
This could be nothing, but one has to ask, why did Obama submit both
statements with an improper name? And, why is the statement
adding Biden's name not signed? After all, these are the
foundation documents to Obama's candidacy.
Obama is an attorney, who is surrounded by attorneys. One would
think that these documents would have been scanned several times for
errors and omissions prior to their submission. And, why did Obama
provide an improper name, not once, but twice -- or did he?
It may not matter, since Nancy Pelosi
certifies that Obama's on the level?
Thanks RAS -- he's British and he doesn't
understand this stuff.
Christian
Myth
Barack Obama announced last Thursday that he has begun a web site to
fight 'rumors,'"
Andy Martin
states. "To be sure, some of what is said about Obama is
exaggerated or untrue. I refuse to publish a great deal of
anti-Obama material that crosses my desk. But much of what Obama
characterizes as 'rumor' is true. Obama has been lying about his
family and his religious past his entire life. This time he will
not get away with his lies."
"Obama says in large print and underlines 'Senator Obama has never been
a Muslim, was not raised a Muslim, and is a committed Christian," Martin
states. "Two thirds of that claim are bald-faced lies.
The last third, about Obama's Christianity, has never been adequately
documented. Most people who are baptized have a Baptismal
Certificate. I call on Obama to release his Baptismal Certificate
or record. Many Americans do not believe that sitting in the pews,
listening to Reverend Jeremiah Wright's racist jeremiads for two decades
qualifies anyone to be a 'committed Christian.'" Committed racist
and America-hater, maybe.
I have corresponded with three Chicago-area
journalists, inquiring about a baptism. There is NO record,
anywhere, of Barack Hussein Obama ever having been baptized. He is
only a Christian because he says so -- although I don't believe the
Trinity UCC church is a Christian Church -- it is a Black African church
and their website is very clear about that. From the Trinity UCC
website:
The vision
statement of Trinity United Church of Christ is based upon the
systematized liberation theology that started in 1969 with the
publication of Dr. James Cone's book, Black Power and Black Theology.
Black theology is one of the many theologies in the Americas that became
popular during the liberation theology movement. They include Hispanic
theology, Native American theology, Asian theology and Womanist
theology.
That stuff isn't theology -- it's politics!.
Conception
Myth
As another example, consider Obama's
stirring tale for the Selma audience
about how he had been conceived by his parents, Barack Obama Sr. and Ann
Dunham, because they had been inspired by the fervor following the
"Bloody Sunday" voting rights demonstration that was commemorated March
4. "There was something stirring across the country because of
what happened in Selma, Alabama," he said, "because some folks are
willing to march across a bridge. So they got together and Barack
Obama Jr. was born. So don't tell me I don't have a claim on
Selma, Alabama. Don't tell me I'm not coming home to
Selma, Alabama"
Obama was born in 1961, and the Selma march occurred four years later,
in 1965. The New York Times reported that when the senator was
asked about the discrepancy later that day, he clarified: "I meant the
whole civil rights movement."
Cyber Lie
Hot Air
reports that last
week, Barack Obama announced the creation of a cyber security czar,
giving his administration more czars than the Russian Empire, but that's
another issue altogether. In order to convince Americans of the
necessity of such a position, Obama gave us this dire scenario in his
speech:
"In short, America's economic prosperity in the 21st
century will depend on cybersecurity."
"And this is also a matter
of public safety and national security. We count on computer networks to
deliver our oil and gas, our power and our water. We rely on them for
public transportation and air traffic control. Yet we know that cyber
intruders have probed our electrical grid and that in other countries
cyber attacks have plunged entire cities into darkness."
Rob
Rosenberger at Vmyths, a site dedicated to debunking urban legends about
cyberspace, said, that he, and other experts, bashed this urban legend
more than a year ago. Now, Obama is spouting it as if it's a fact.
Rosenberger says Obama has basically told a boogeyman story:
This report is
an urban legend because no one knows any details whatsoever. To be
specific:
• Who plunged entire cities into darkness with the
click of a mouse? No one knows. • When did these cyber-terrorists
plunge entire cities into darkness with the click of a mouse? No one
knows. • Where are these cities that plunged into darkness with the
click of a mouse? No one knows. • Why did the cyber-terrorists plunge
these cities into darkness with the click of a mouse? No one knows. • How widespread were these cyber-terror blackouts? No one knows. • Whose power grid Internet connection did the cyber-terrorists exploit? No one knows. • How many victims perished in these cyber-attacks? No
one knows.
Draft
Registration Lie
Debbie Schussle
wants to know if President-elect Barack Hussein Obama committed a
federal crime in September of this year?
Did he never actually
register and, instead, did friends of his in the Chicago federal records
center, which maintains the official copy of his alleged Selective
Service registration commit the crime for him?
It's either one or the other, as indicated by the release of Barack
Obama's official Selective Service registration for the draft. A friend
of mine, who is a retired federal agent, spent almost a year trying to
obtain this document through a Freedom of Information Act request, and,
after much stonewalling, finally received it and released it to me.
But the release of Obama's draft registration and an accompanying
document, posted below, raises more questions than it answers. And it
shows many signs of fraud, not to mention putting the lie to Obama's
claim that he registered for the draft in June 1979, before it was
required by law.
Sharp-eyed Lexie made this observation. Obama's
signatures are different on his allegedly
counterfeit Selective Service Registration and his
Statement of Candidacy. Imagine that?
Selective Service Registration
Candidacy Form
Since the Selective Service Registration form contains a forged signature,
then Obama is in violation of the Selective Service Act. Penalties
for Failure to Register for the Draft:
• Men who do not register could be
prosecuted and, if convicted, fined up to $250,000 and/or serve up to
five years in prison. In addition, men who fail to register with
Selective Service before turning age 26, even if not prosecuted, will
become ineligible for:
• Student Financial Aid -- including
Pell Grants, College Work Study, Guaranteed Student/Plus Loans, and
National Direct Student Loans.
• U.S. Citizenship -- if the man first
arrived in the U.S. before his 26th birthday.
• Federal Job Training -- The Job
Training Partnership Act (JTPA) offers programs that can train young men
for jobs in auto mechanics and other skills. This program is only open
to those men who register with Selective Service.
• Federal Jobs -- men born after
December 31, 1959 must be registered to be eligible for jobs in the
Executive Branch* of the Federal
governmentand the U.S. Postal Service.
In addition, several states have added additional penalties for those
who fail to register.
* Last time I checked, the President
is a member of the Executive Branch, and Obama was definitely born after
12/31/1959. If that isn't his signature, he's NOT ELIGIBLE!
Thanks to all of you who contributed samples of
Obama's signature. After viewing a dozen or so samples, this
signature, posted at Wikipedia and the one on the Candidacy Form,
appears to be the "real deal."
Several readers have made the observation that signatures change over
time, and that is true. However, the draft registration form above
has been demonstrated to be counterfeit, so the question is, who
prepared and signed this forgery, and how did they get it into the
Selective Service Data Center?
Earmarks
Economy Lies
The Caucus Blog of The New York Times says that Obama's
transition staff are claiming that his so-called
economic recovery plan will be a "paperless plan."
Forget the usual detailed
documents, cost estimates and announcement fanfare that capital watchers
expect for the unveiling of major initiatives. Obama and his
advisers suggested on Friday that he has provided the "framework" of a
plan in recent public remarks; now Congress, coordinating with the Obama
team, will flesh it out.
Obama and his advisers "wanted to set
the broad outline and, very smartly, want Congress to sort of fill in
some of the details," Senator Charles E. Schumer, Democrat of New York,
said in an interview. "It just makes sense. There's a lot of
knowledge here on the Hill."
Obama
admits his $800 billion dollar plan isn't a plan at all and is written
on a whiteboard in dry erase markers.
Economy Lies
On January 9th, 2009, Obama
said,
"There is no disagreement that we need action by our
government, a recovery plan that will help to jumpstart the economy."
However, that statement is false.
Notwithstanding reports
that all economists are now Keynesians and that we all support a big
increase in the burden of government, we the undersigned do not believe
that more government spending is a way to improve economic performance.
More government spending by Hoover and Roosevelt did not pull the United
States economy out of the Great Depression in the 1930s. More
government spending did not solve Japan's "lost decade" in the 1990s.
As such, it is a triumph of hope over experience to believe that more
government spending will help the U.S. today. To improve the
economy, policymakers should focus on reforms that remove impediments to
work, saving, investment and production. Lower tax rates and a
reduction in the burden of government are the best ways of using fiscal
policy to boost growth.
Signed by 200 academic economists, including three Nobel prize-winners.
Energy Lies
When reading
this article, please keep in mind that Obama received the following
presidential contributions -- Exelon employees $236,211 (Source:
OpenSecrets -- The
Center for Responsive Politics): note, Exelon employees also gave
over $270,000 to Obama's State Senate campaign, total over $500,000.
Obama scolded Exelon and federal regulators for inaction and introduced
a bill to require all plant owners to notify state and local authorities
immediately of even small leaks. He has boasted of it on the
campaign trail, telling a crowd in Iowa in December (2007) that it was,
"the only nuclear legislation that I've passed. I just did that
last year," he said, to murmurs of approval.
But, contrary to Obama's comments in Iowa, the bill died amid
parliamentary wrangling in the full Senate.
The history of the bill shows Obama navigating a home-state controversy
that pitted two important constituencies against each other and tested
his skills as a legislative infighter. On one side were neighbors
of several nuclear plants upset that low-level radioactive leaks had
gone unreported for years; on the other was Exelon, the country's
largest nuclear plant operator and one of Obama's largest sources of
campaign money.
IN TRUTH, Mr. Obama told the Iowan's that he PASSED nuclear legislation,
"just last year (2007)."
IN TRUTH, Mr. Obama LIED -- his nuclear legislation bill NEVER PASSED!
This was a KEY Issue that swayed the Iowa Caucus in his favor, as the
folks of Iowa were facing similar issues regarding nuclear power plants,
and they mistakenly were "hoodwinked and boondoggled" by a slick
Chicago politician, who was willing to tell them anything to get their
votes, even lying about his legislative record.
Mr. Obama in his 3+ years in the US Senate has sponsored ONLY TWO pieces
of legislation that have become law:
1.
A bill to promote democracy in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
2.
A bill to name a post office.
Energy
Lies
John at PowerLine
notes that Barack Obama has seen which way the wind is blowing on
gas prices, and today he changed his mind about offshore drilling:
"My interest is in making sure we've got the kind of comprehensive
energy policy that can bring down gas prices," Obama said in an
interview with The Palm Beach Post.
"If, in order to get that passed, we have to compromise in terms of a
careful, well thought-out drilling strategy that was carefully
circumscribed to avoid significant environmental damage -- I don't want
to be so rigid that we can't get something done."
Obama left no doubt about the political calculation behind his
flip-flop:
"The Republicans and the oil companies have been really beating the
drums on drilling," Obama said in the Post interview. "And so we
don't want gridlock. We want to get something done."
As I've said before, there is no philosophical or political principle
that Obama cares much about, other than the desirability of his own
ascension to the Presidency. So we can look forward to more such
shifts between now and November.
That'll just give Obama more oil to tax.
Environmental Hypocrisy
Here's an environmental impact story you're not likely to see in the
mainstream media. Neither NBC's chief environmental affair
correspondent Anne Thompson, nor ABC correspondent Bill Blakemore nor
CBS "60 Minutes" correspondent Scott Pelley -- all of whom have been
eager over the years to expose so-called crimes against the environment
-- have rushed to report on the massive carbon footprint of the Obama
inauguration.
But a comprehensive
new study by The Institute for Liberty (IFL) took an in-depth look
at each component of the Jan. 20 inauguration in Washington, D.C., and
estimated that 575 million pounds of carbon dioxide
will be emitted in the atmosphere for the inauguration -- which is
roughly equal to what the average American household would produce in
57,598 years.
Speaking with the Business & Media Institute, IFL
President Andrew Langer noted the hypocrisy of the event having so large
an environmental impact, especially in light of the strong stands
promoting the case for manmade global warming of many of Obama's cabinet
picks.
The Fantasy
Lie
Would somebody please inform this egomaniac that there
ain't no such thing as the "Office of the President Elect."
Especially when he is not yet the president elect. That won't
happen until after the Electoral College convenes on December 15th and the
Electors vote. The results are then presented to a joint session
of Congress on January 6, 2009. Objections may be presented and heard.
Then Congress certifies the votes. Only then would Obama be
the "president elect.
Since Obama resigned his seat in the US Senate, he is, at this time, an
unemployed private citizen, with no power and no authority -- just
arrogance.
And, there's that damned seal again. I fully
expect Obama to have a military uniform (with 6 stars, of course) that
he can wear when he's acting in the role of Commander-in-Chief (what an
absolutely repulsive thought).
Farrakhan
Lie
In Levittown, Penn., today, Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, was asked
about his church's magazine giving an award to Rev. Louis Farrakhan.
"This was done by a magazine that was connected to the church," Obama
explained. "I would have never done it. It was primary
focused on the rehabilitation work that they do for ex-offenders in
Chicago. That doesn't excuse it, that just explains it."
The first time Obama said this, I could believe he was misinformed
[update: indeed, the first time he said this, he only said he "assumed"
this was the reason]. The second time, perhaps that he was caught
off guard and didn't have his story straight. Now, I can only
conclude that he is intentionally choosing to blatantly lie about this,
hoping that no one will notice and call him on it.
Let's recall the facts: The magazine explicitly explained in the video
it prepared for the banquet at which Farrakhan was honored that it was
honoring Farrakhan for his purported dedication to "truth, education,
and leadership." [Surprise, surprise, the video seems to have been
pulled from YouTube.] Obama's spiritual mentor Rev. Wright,
meanwhile praised Farrakhan in the magazine for his "astounding and
eye-opening" analysis of the "racial ills of this nation," a
"perspective" that is "helpful and honest." I even got hold of the
interview the magazine did with Farrakhan. No mention was made in
any of these sources of "rehabilitation work for ex-offenders."
Flippin'
And
Floppin'
The flip -- On Wednesday, June 4th, Obama, appearing in front of the
American Israel Public Affairs Committee,
said Jerusalem should be Israel's undivided capital, saying,
"Jerusalem will remain the capital of Israel, and it must remain
undivided."
The flop -- Well, on Thursday, the 5th, Palestinian leaders reacted with
anger and dismay to this statement, so Obama immediately flip-flopped on
his support for Israel's stance on Jerusalem, saying Palestinians and
Israelis had to negotiate the future of the holy city.
The flip -- Yesterday, June 18th, Obama
said he would want to bring Osama ben Laden to justice "in a way
that allows the entire world to understand the murderous acts that he's
engaged in and not to make him into a martyr."
The flop -- Today, Obama
implied that
he would kill bin Laden without a trial, saying, "First of all, I think
there is an executive order out on Osama bin Laden's head. And if
I'm president, and we have the opportunity to capture him, we may not be
able to capture him alive."
Of course, there is no known Presidential Executive Order "out on Osama
bin Laden's head."
If Obama is unwilling to say kill Osama bin Laden, he cannot hide behind
an Executive Order that does not exist, mumbo jumbo about how he never
threatens, or the need for diplomacy.
And, watch Obama flip-flop his way around free trade and the FISA bill.
He makes John Kerry look like the Rock of Gibraltar.
Obama has no position on anything he'll
flip-flop all day long -- hell, he even makes stuff up as he goes along.
This guy will say absolutely anything he thinks people want to hear.
Flippin'
And
Floppin'
Is it just one more flip-flop, or one more lie? Either
way, it is more proof that Obama's word isn't worth squat, and he and
the truth are complete strangers.
When the Obamamessiah campaign started 17 months ago, Obama
said he'd pursue public financing "aggressively." He
committed to it in a written questionnaire. He even said,
repeatedly, that he would meet personally with Senator John McCain to
discuss a deal.
On February 8th, 2007, MSNBC
reported that,
""Senator Obama has long been a proponent of public financing of
campaigns and we are asking the FEC to take a step that could preserve
the public financing option for the party's nominees," said Obama
spokesman Bill Burton.
Yesterday, Obama
abandoned his pledges to accept public financing for his presidential
campaign.
This flip-flop, or lie, makes Obama the first presidential candidate to opt out
of the current system since it was put in place after the Watergate
scandal and a complete hypocrite.
Don't tell me words don't matter. (00:48)
This is obviously "change we can believe in."
Obama is proving that he will say and do anything that will get him
elected to office -- he makes the Clintons look positively trustworthy
by comparison.
Here's a question to ponder -- how many of Obama's contributions,
pouring in to his website, are coming in from outside of the country, in
violation of the law?
Flippin'
And
Floppin'
After using the radical left for his entire political career, Barack
Obama is clumsily
flip-flopping his way toward something resembling a "center."
His latest policy double-backflip caused so much rage among the
Obamalytes that he's now trying to reassure them his plan to
surrender hasn't changed one bit
Obama has
also
flip-flopped on unwarranted wiretapping, Israel, free trade, gun
control, the death penalty, faith based programs, welfare reform, abortion, the Patriot Act, campaign finance, and the Cuban
embargo.
[This post will remain bumped to the top through Monday. New posts will
appear below. -- Patterico]
I want you to help me compile a full list of Obama's flip-flops.
Leave a comment fully documenting one or more flip-flops. Links
are critical. For maximum usefulness, I would like to see the
following for each flip-flop:
1) Obama's original quote, with a link.
2) His later flip-flopping quote, also with a link.
Here's an example of what I'm looking for:
Flip: Obama says the health exception for late-term abortions has
to be a serious physical issue:
I have repeatedly said that I think it's entirely appropriate for states
to restrict or even prohibit late-term abortions as long as there is a
strict, well-defined exception for the health of the mother. Now,
I don't think that 'mental distress' qualifies as the health of the
mother. I think it has to be a serious physical issue that arises
in pregnancy, where there are real, significant problems to the mother
carrying that child to term.
Flop: the health exception can include non-physical issues like
mental diseases:
My only point is that in an area like partial birth abortion having a
mental, having a health exception can be defined rigorously . . . It can
be defined through physical health. It can be defined by serious
clinical mental health diseases.
Video proof of a flip-flop is even better. Link that if you have
it. I know there are videos like that out there. I want to
know about all of them.
Maximum participation, people! If you do this well, I can bring it
all together in a single, massive post that documents all of Obama's
flip-flops. In that post, I'll credit each person who first
documents a particular flip-flop to my satisfaction.
Now start documenting!
The last time I looked, there were 279
responses -- check 'em out.
Flippin'
And

Three weeks ago, Barack Obama said that he would not make Osama bin
Laden into a martyr if he was captured. Today, Barack Obama
suddenly thinks the death penalty would be just fine for OBL. In a
CNN interview, Obama said about Osama bin Laden, "If he was captured
alive, then we would make a decision to bring the full weight of not
only US justice but world justice down on him. And, uh, I think
that I've said this before, that I am not a cheerleader for the death
penalty. I think it has to be reserved for only the most heinous
crimes, but I certainly think that plotting and engineering the death of
3,000 Americans justifies such an approach."
This is what he said on June 18th:
“What would be important would be for us to do it in a way that allows
the entire world to understand the murderous acts that he's engaged in
and not to make him into a martyr, and to assure that the United States
government is abiding by basic conventions that would strengthen our
hand in the broader battle against terrorism."
Food Stamps
Lie
Following Obama's recent dumb comment about small town Americans
clinging to guns and religion, he defended himself by claiming that the
notion of elitist is absurd because of his poor upbringing. He
said that his mother was on food stamps, so how could he be an
elitist in his upbringing?
Here is the Time article written by Joe Klein in 2006, long before
Obama decided to run for president. Back then, he was seen as the
rising star within Democratic Party, and he didn't worry about critics
breathing down his neck.
Here is the key excerpt from the article:
"For example, I was going to a fancy prep school, and my mother was
on food stamps while she was getting her Ph.D."
That is what Obama said. He went to a fancy private school that
today costs $15,000 per -- and his mother was studying for a Ph.D.
What Obama doesn't tell you is that he was in Punahou School in the 70's
and mom studied for her Ph. D. in the early 90's. Here is the
Wikipedia entry:
In 1992 she earned a Ph.D. in anthropology from the University of
Hawai'i with a dissertation titled Peasant blacksmithing in Indonesia:
Surviving and Thriving Against All Odds.
That was thirteen years after Obama graduated from his "fancy prep
school."
Obama consciously conflated these two events to produce a defense he
knows to be untrue.
Ghost Writers
In The Sky
Evidence continues to mount that Barack Obama had
substantial help from Bill Ayers in the creation of his 1995 book,
Dreams From My Father, a book that Time Magazine has called "the
best-written memoir ever produced by an American politician." The
evidence falls into five general categories, here summarized.
The discovery of new matching nautical metaphors from both Ayers and
Obama that almost assuredly came from the same source: Ayers, a former
merchant seaman.
The discovery of a Bill Ayers' essay on memoir writing, whose postmodern
themes and phrases are echoed throughout Dreams.
A newly discovered book chapter from 1990 that shows clearly and
painfully the limits of Obama's prose style the year he received a
contract to write Dreams.
The revelation by radical Islamicist Rashid Khalidi that Ayers made his
"dining room table" available for neighborhood writers who needed help.
A refined timeline that shows Ayers had the means, the motive and the
time to help Obama when he needed it most.
Jack Cashill contends that
this essay, published by the radical Students Agaianst Militarism
(SAM), represents the single best example of Obama's native writing
skills yet unearthed.
Cashill says it should put an end to the
charade that Barack Obama wrote his 1995 memoir "Dreams From My Father"
unaided, but it probably won't. The literary left has committed
itself to Obama's genius.
"He wrote it himself," esteemed British
author Jonathan Raban wrote of Obama's Dreams just last week in The Wall
Street Journal. "Every sentence has its own graceful cadence.
He could just as easily have been a novelist as a politician."
In
"Breaking The War Mentality" every sentence clunks. Obama not only
makes scores of basic grammatical errors -- these, with practice, he
might have learned to correct -- but he also fails to turn one lively or
concise or even interesting phrase in the entire essay.
President-elect Barack Obama vowed on the campaign trail to shut down
the terrorist detention center at Guantanamo Bay. But he never said what
he would do with the prisoners there.
What to do with the 250
alleged foreign terrorists at the Cuba prison is the real question
facing Obama, experts say.
Terrorism experts and two recent
analyses of unclassified information on the prison population indicate
the men who remain there are either committed, highly skilled al-Qaeda
operatives too dangerous to ever free, or Islamists whose native
countries would do little to prevent them from rejoining the jihad.
"The words sounds simple, but it's wrapped in some very complex
issues," Air Force Col. Mo Davis, former chief prosecutor at Guantanamo,
said of shutting down the prison. "Saying it is a lot easier than doing
it."
In a wide-ranging 70-minute
interview with Washington Post reporters and editors, Obama pledged
quick action on the Middle East once he takes office, promised to
support voting rights for D.C. residents, and said he will consider it a
failure if he has not closed the U.S. military prison at Guantanamo Bay,
Cuba, by the end of his first term in office.
What? During
the campaign, Obama often demanded the immediate closure of Gitmo and
promised just that repeatedly. It didn't make much of a splash
during the general election, as John McCain made the same pledge.
In fact, his transition team suggested that Obama would issue an
executive order in the first days of his administration to get the ball
rolling on that task.
And now? Now Obama has decided to set
the expectation that it might take as long as four years to figure out
how to fulfill his campaign promise. This stunning nugget that
dropped into the Post's lap was recognized as so newsworthy that the
Post failed to even ask about the four-year shift in the timeline even
once. Gitmo only gets one more mention in the 34-paragraph story
-- in paragraph 28. And in that paragraph, the Post tells readers
that Obama is "confident" that he can make his new self-imposed deadline
of whenever.
This tends to prove the notion that the throbbingly
warm reception Obama received this week in the Post's office was no
fluke.
Gitmo Lies
The No.2
Republican in the Senate took President Obama to task Sunday for
claiming Guantanamo Bay created more terrorists than it ever detained by
serving as a recruiting tool for Al Qaeda.
Sen. Jon Kyl,
R-Ariz., called the charge "palpably false" and said the White House has
not provided any evidence to back up the claim.
"He meant to say
that 770 people or more became terrorists because we have a prison at
Guantanamo?" Kyl
said on "FOX News Sunday."
"9/11 hijackers
didn't do their deeds because of Gitmo. The people who ... blew up the
(U.S.S.) Cole or the Kolbar Towers or the first World Trade Center
didn't say, 'There's Gitmo down there,' because it didn't exist. And
even after that I don't think you saw guys sitting around in some coffee
shop in Saudi Arabia, saying, 'You know, those Americans have this
prison called Gitmo, I think I'll become a terrorist,'" he said. "I
mean, it's palpably false to suggest that the existence of Gitmo created
terrorism, and yet the president gets away with that."
"We
haven't done anything wrong there," Kyl said. "We haven't lost our
values and Dick Cheney's exactly right in what he said in his speech."
"Whether it's closed or not, we have to have a plan in place that
outlines how we deal with the people who are incarcerated there," he
told "FOX News Sunday."

Goatherd
Myth
In Obama's famous DNC
Convention speech, Obama says, "My father was a foreign student, born and raised in a small village in Kenya. He grew up herding goats, went to school in a tin-roof shack. His father -- my grandfather -- was a cook, a domestic servant to the British."
Kezia, Obama Sr.'s first wife tells a story that puts Obama's account to
lie.
Kezia said:
In 1955 Obama Sr. was 18 and working in an office in Nairobi, when he took Kezia from
her family at the age of 16. Her father was furious.
"He did not like Obama. My father and brothers came to
Nairobi to bring me back. They said I had to go back to school.
"When I wouldn't, they said they would never speak to me again.
"Barack was also worried about what his father would think because I was
so young, but he gave us his approval. Obama's father (often described
as poor) sent my mother and father
14 cows for my dowry.
Just how can a cook, a domestic servant to the British, provide a dowry
of 14 cattle for Senior's first wife? Also, Obama's father
had been working in a Nairobi office since the age 16, not herding
goats.
As an aside, can you imagine if a Republican
was running for president and it came out that his father had bought his
first wife for 14 cows???!!!Just wow!!
Gun Lies
Both the McCain and Clinton campaigns are
accusing Obama of giving a misleading answer to Charlie Gibson about
whether his handwriting was on a questionnaire that reported him as
favoring a complete ban on handguns. The Obama campaign has said
that a staffer "mischaracterized" the senator's views while filling up
answers to the questionnaire without Obama's input. You can see
the questionnaire
here. Obama's handwriting is on the first page, but tonight he
said flatly, "no, my writing was not on that particular questionnaire."
There were, in fact, two versions of the questionnaire, filed under
Obama's name in 1996 when he was running for the Illinois State Senate.
One version has Obama's handwriting on it, one does not. Obama
spokesman Tommy Vietor
subsequently told Politico that the senator scribbled a few notes on
the first page of the questionnaire, but did not read the response to
the question about banning handguns, on a subsequent page.
Either way, it seems a rather lame explanation.
Gun Lies
Another Obama statement reaches its expiration date, this one on
guns.
The Heller decision came down today from the Supreme Court, striking
down the Washington, D.C. gun ban.
With the Supreme Court ruling, the Obama campaign is disavowing what it
calls an "inartful" statement -- Obamese for lie -- to the Chicago
Tribune last year, and are blaming an "unnamed aide" characterized Obama
as believing that the D. C. ban was constitutional.
"That statement was obviously an inartful attempt to explain the
Senator's consistent position," Obama spokesman Bill Burton tells ABC
News.
Obama took a question about the constitutionality of the gun ban from
WJLA's Leon Harris during the Potomac Primary, and didn't dispute the
characterization that he believes the ban is constitutional.
LH: "One other issue that is of great importance to the people of the
district here, is gun control. You said in Idaho here, recently,
that "I have no intention of taking away folks' guns." But you
support the D.C. handgun ban, and you've said that it's constitutional.
How do you reconcile those two positions?"
BO: "Because I think we have two conflicting traditions in this
country. I think it's important for us to recognize that we've got
a tradition of handgun ownership and gun ownership generally. And
a lot of people -- law-abiding citizens use if for hunting, for
sportsmanship, and for protecting their families."
"We also have a violence on the streets that is the result of illegal
handgun usage. And so I think there is nothing wrong with a
community saying we are going to take those illegal handguns off the
streets, we are going to trace more effectively, how these guns are
ending up on the streets, to unscrupulous gun dealers, who often times
are selling to straw purchasers. And cracking down on the various
loopholes that exist in terms of background checks for children, the
mentally ill. Those are all approaches that I think the average
gun owner would actually support. The problem is, that we've got a
position, often times by the NRA that says any regulation whatsoever is
the camel's nose under the tent. And that, I think, is not where
the American people are at. We can have reasonable, thoughtful gun
control measure that I think respect the Second Amendment and people's
traditions."
"When Obama says, "we are going to take those
illegal handguns off the streets," I wonder if it ever occurred to him
to "take the damned criminals off the streets?"
Also, how can Obama claim "I have always believed that the Second
Amendment protects the right of individuals to bear arms" when, as
a director of the Joyce Foundation,
he steered $15 million to the self-described "most aggressive group
in the gun control movement?" That group published a book
entitled, "Every Handgun is Aimed at You: The Case for Banning
Handguns."
And, remember, on April 3rd, in the run-up to a Democratic presidential
debate scheduled on the one-year anniversary of the Virginia Tech
shootings, Obama
said:
"I am not in favor of concealed weapons," Obama told the
Pittsburgh Tribune. "I think that creates a potential atmosphere
where more innocent people could (get shot during) altercations."
Obama's presidential campaign slogan, "the audacity of
hope," should have instead been "the audacity of deceit." After
months of telling the American people that he supports the Second
Amendment, and only hours after being declared the president-elect, the
Obama transition team website announced an agenda taken straight from
the anti-gun lobby --
four
initiatives designed to ban guns and drive law-abiding firearm
manufacturers and dealers out of business.
Gun Lies
CIFTA is the proposed
Organization of American States treaty on firearms trafficking,
known by its Spanish initials as
CIFTA.
Obama is
working to get the CIFTA treaty through the Senate. This
push is a result of his recent trip to Mexico and and his claimed
attempt to halt to flow of guns into Mexico.
The problem is that Obama is using
faulty statistics to push this treaty and infringe upon the right of the
American People to keep and bear arms.
Obama says that 90% of
the guns recovered in Mexico from drug cartels come from the United
States. This isn't true. The fact is, nobody really
knows. Yes, lots of guns seized in Mexico come from the United
States. No question. But that's indicative of a whole
other sort of problem. The fact that drug runners can get guns
doesn't mean that America should end-run the Second Amendment.
That's just poor logic.
Another point is Obama's faulty logic -- that 33
nations in the Western Hemisphere have signed on to this treaty, so
it must be good. This is an incorrect conclusion -- those
nations do not have a Second Amendment to the Constitution.
Beyond that, since when did the United States of America follow
the examples of Venezuela, Chile, Nicaragua, and yes, Mexico?
It is the United States that should be setting the example here --
not the other way around. This is just an encore performance
from Obama's "Hate America Tour, 2009."
Obama has no clue how to help Mexico but sees an
opportunity to help his agenda. It is obvious that Obama's teams
at the Justice Department and the State Department are exploiting the
violence in Mexico to justify more restrictions on gun ownership by
Americans. Obama's hostility
to the Second Amendment has been clear for years. This may be yet another example of Rahm
Emanuel's maxim: "Never let a good crisis go to waste."
In an
article written by Rep. Tom Tancredo on April 30th, Tancredo asks the
question, "Why the Lies About Guns Going to Mexico? "
The Mexican Ambassador to the United
States, Auturo Sarukhan, appeared on a CBS news program recently and
repeated a lie we have heard for many months about the violence in
Mexico. The ambassador says Americans are to blame for the
violence wrecked on his country by the Mexican drug cartels because
"most of the guns confiscated by Mexican police can be traced back to
the United States. That is not true, but the way that claim has
been accepted by American politicians and the mainstream media raises
suspicions about a hidden agenda.
ATFE's Fake Number:
We can almost forgive the Mexican
ambassador for being confused when the United States agency responsible
for enforcing our gun laws, the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco,
Firearms and Explosives (ATFE), has made so many contradictory
statements on the matter. ATFE Assistant Director William Hoover
told Congress last year that 90% of the weapons seized in Mexico crime
scenes can be traced to gun sales in the US.
The problem is that 90% number isn't
true. Yet, that hasn't kept it from being picked up and used by
members of Congress, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and, of course,
Mexican officials like Ambassador Sarukhan who are eager to blame the US
for Mexico's problems.
Real Weapons Source:
The 90% number reported by Hoover came
from a small group of weapons turned over to the U.S. for tracing, but
they were by no means all of the weapons seized by Mexican authorities.
A spokesman for the ATFE, Matt Allen, has now "clarified" the number and
admitted that only 17% of the weapons found at crime scenes in Mexico
have been traced to the U.S. Ironically, while Mexican officials
have freely used the 90% number from the ATFE, they have not themselves
made such a charge based on their own numbers. The truth is, they
know better.
We can easily understand Mexico's reasons for preferring
the 90% number to the more accurate 17%. Mexico does not want to
openly discuss the many other sources of advanced weapons being used by
the drug cartels. Thousands of advanced weapons and tons of
military equipment are stolen from its own military and state police.
Weapons are smuggled across its southern borders from Guatemala and by
boats landing on its 8,000 miles of coastline, weapons that often
originate in Venezuela, Colombia, and Nicaragua, or from purchases in
Eastern Europe. But it is easier for a Mexican politician to blame
the U.S. than to explain his own government's failure to police its
borders, its ports of entry and its military installations.
Did the Mexican
ambassador mention that over 100,000 soldiers have deserted the Mexican
army in the past seven years and that many of them took their weapons
with them and joined the cartels?
Update: Ron Polarik,
PhD,
observes that whether it's drug cartels, the Army, or the local
Politsia, Mexico gets the vast majority of its guns from countries
other than the United States.

I received the following information via
email and awaiting a source/link:
Since the Constitution says
that US treaties are ABOVE the Constitution, Obama can use CIFTA and
other treaties to get a bare majority of the Senators to repeal the
2nd Amendment, without going through the arduous process of getting
the agreement of 2/3rds of each house of Congress and 3/4ths of the
sates; if CIFTA is passed by 51% of the Senate, is the de facto law
of the land and presto, our gun rights are GONE.
The Supreme
Court has already ruled in a case in California (where a gasoline
additive was leaking into the groundwater) that the citizens had no
right to sue under the Constitution, because this case involved
NAFTA (I don't recall the specific facts, I think it's because the
additive was made in Canada).
Gun Lies
The "liar, liar pants on
fire" argument usually isn't the most effective. But when it comes to
guns, Obama is
lying through his teeth.
On Thursday,
while on a visit to Mexico, Obama continued his Blame America
First tour. "This war is being waged with guns purchased not here but in
the United States," he said, referring to the drug wars that are tearing
apart our neighbor to the south. "More than 90 percent of the guns
recovered in Mexico come from the United States, many from gun shops
that lay in our shared border."
It is completely untrue that 90
percent of guns recovered in Mexico are from America. The Mexican
government separates guns it confiscates that were made in the United
States and sends them here to be traced. U.S. weapons are easy to
identify because of clear markings.
Of the ones sent here to be
traced, 90 percent turn out to be from America, but most guns recovered
in Mexico are not sent here so are not included in the count. Fox News
reported that 17 percent is a more accurate number.
The New York
Times, CNN and numerous networks continue to repeat the 90 percent
figure with no reporting to back it up. The hysteria is used to create
the notion that a major problem exists with American guns -- and Obama is anxious to step in to solve that problem with a $400 million
program to stop U.S. guns from going to Mexico. That initiative would
include clampdowns on U.S. gun shops.
It is ridiculous for Mr.
Obama to blame Mexico's lawlessness on Americans as if the longstanding
corruption of Mexican elected officials, judges and law-enforcement
officers has nothing to do with it.
Hamas
Lie
Early yesterday, the London-based Al-Hayat newspaper
published an interview with Hamas political adviser Ahmed Yousef in
which he said that a secret meeting was held in Gaza on November
4th, with members of the Obama campaign.
"We are maintaining contact with them," Yousef said. "We first
made contact on the Internet and then met with some of them here in the
Gaza Strip. They advised us not to reveal this information lest it
influence the elections or become manipulated by McCain's campaign."
With the campaign over, he added, Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh
would be sending a letter of congratulations to Obama.
Yousef also said that he personally had friendly relations with a few of
Obama's advisers whom he had met when he lived in the US.
Obama stressed throughout the campaign that he would not meet with
members of Hamas so long as it didn't accept the international
community's three demands -- that it halt violence against Israel,
recognize Israel and accept previous agreements between the Palestinians
and Israel.
One of Obama's Middle East policy advisers,
Robert Malley, resigned during the Democratic candidate's campaign
once it became known that he had met with Hamas members in the course of
his conflict resolution work with the International Crisis Group.
Surprise, surprise! Now that the election is over, Malley, son of
Simon Malley, a key figure in the Egyptian Communist Party and
confidante of the late PLO leader Yasser Arafat,
is back.
History will record that Barack Obama's first act of diplomacy as
America's president-elect took place two days after his election
victory, when he dispatched his senior foreign-policy adviser, Robert
Malley, to meet with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and Syrian
President Bashar al-Assad, to outline for them the forthcoming
administration's Mideast policy vis-a-vis those nations.
An aide to Malley reports, "The tenor of the messages was that the Obama
administration would take into greater account Egyptian and Syrian
interests" than has President Bush.[...]
Healthcare
Lies
The Hillary Clinton Campaign releases a video that
proves that Obama lied about his position on "single-payer healthcare."
The video compares statements Obama made during the January 21st
Democratic debate with those he made to an AFL-CIO conference in June
2003 while campaigning for the Senate. Contradicting what
Obama said at the debate, the old footage shows the senator saying, "I
happen to be a proponent of single-payer universal healthcare coverage.
That's what I'd like to see."
At the debate, Obama stated: "I never said that we should try to go
ahead and get single-payer (healthcare)."
Single-payer healthcare is an euphemism for socialized medicine.
"I happen to be a proponent of single-payer universal healthcare
coverage. That' what I'd like to see."
In January, 2008, Obama claimed in a nationally televised debate:
"I never said that we should try to go ahead and get single-payer."
Healthcare
Lies
Obama
walked into the Oval Office with a veritable halo over his head.
In the eyes of his backers, he could say or do no wrong because he had
evidently descended directly from heaven to return celestial order to
our fallen world. Oprah declared his tongue to be "dipped in the
unvarnished truth." Newsweek editor Evan Thomas averred that Obama
"stands above the country and above the world as a sort of a God."
But when it comes to health care reform, with every passing day,
Obama seems less God and more demagogue, uttering not transcendental
truths, but bald-faced lies. Here are the top five lies that His
Awesomeness has told -- the first two for no reason other than to get
elected and the next three to sell socialized medicine to a wary nation.
• Lie
One: No one will be compelled to buy coverage. • Lie Two: No new taxes on employer benefits. • Lie Three:
Government can control rising health care costs better than the private
sector. • Lie
Four: A public plan won't be a Trojan horse for a single-payer monopoly. • Lie Five:
Patients don't have to fear rationing.
Barack Obama says
you
won't catch him lighting up a cigarette in the smoke-free White
House.
"There are times where I've fallen off the wagon," the president-elect
said when asked in a broadcast interview whether he has kicked the
habit.
"I've done a terrific job, under the circumstances, of making myself
much healthier," he said. "And I think that you will not see any
violations of these rules in the White House," he said on Sunday's "Meet
the Press" on NBC.
Obama told the magazine Men's Health in an interview for its November
issue that he wished he had more time for staying fit and that he still
occasionally smoked a cigarette.
Obama said in that interview that he had bummed a cigarette a couple of
times during the campaign. "But I figure, seeing as I'm running
for president, I need to cut myself a little slack," he said.
Operative words -- "...you will not see
any violations of these rules in the White House." -- not quite the same
as "I won't smoke..." If only Obama had as much personal character
as his personal arrogance.
I Don't
Take Money
Lie
Last week, Obama aired a
television ad in Pennsylvania called "Nothing's Changed" that
outlines his energy proposals while declaring, "I don't take money from
oil companies or Washington lobbyists, and I won't let them block change
anymore."
The Clinton campaign last week accused Obama of "false advertising."
"Senator Obama says he doesn't take campaign contributions from oil
companies but the reality is that Exxon, Shell, and others are among his
donors," Clinton spokesman Phil Singer said.
THE FACTS: True enough, Obama does not take money from oil companies.
No candidate does. It is illegal for corporations to give money to
politicians. Corporations, however, do have political action
committees that collect voluntary donations from employees and then
donate them to candidates. Obama doesn't take money from PACs.
He also doesn't take money from lobbyists.
But he does accept money from executives and other employees of oil
companies and two of his fundraisers are oil company executives.
As of Feb. 29, Obama's presidential campaign had received nearly
$214,000 from oil and gas industry employees and their families,
according to an analysis by the nonpartisan Center for Responsive
Politics. Clinton had received nearly $307,000 from industry
workers and their families and Republican Sen. John McCain, the likely
GOP presidential nominee, received nearly $394,000, according to the
center's totals.
Two of Obama's fundraisers are Robert Cavnar, the chairman and chief
executive of Houston-based Mission Resources Corp., and George Kaiser,
the president and CEO of Tulsa-based Kaiser-Francis Oil Co.
In January and February alone, Obama received nearly $18,000 from Exxon
Mobil workers, according to Federal Election Commission records.
Most of the donations were of $250 or less; the money came from workers
ranging from executives to engineers to geologists to shift supervisors.
Overall, he has raised about $34,000 from Exxon Mobil workers since the
beginning of his campaign. Exxon Mobil employees have given
Clinton about $16,000 since the beginning of last year.
I Don't
Take Money
Lie
April 14th -- Obama has pledged to end the
influence of lobbyists, but that doesn't keep him from
fundraising at the offices of one of the most notoriously corrupt
lobbyists in years.
Newsday reported over the weekend that Obama took about $125,000 from
Greenberg Traurig employees at their Miami offices last October.
The firm made headlines when its biggest lobbyist, Jack Abramoff,
admitted to several counts of corruption and was sentenced to prison.
I Don't
Take Money
Lie
Barack Obama repeatedly attacks his opponents for taking lobbyists
money or having lobbyists on their campaign staff.
What he doesn't tell you is that he has raised $264,492,301 from 358
bundlers and 14 lobbyist bundlers, himself.
Reader, "JCM," suggests reading this
article (requires login), and please keep in mind that Obama received
the following Presidential contributions -- Exelon employees $236,211
(Source: OpenSecrets,
The Center for responsive Politics) :note, Exelon employees also gave
over $270,000 to Obama's State Senate campaign, total over $500,000.
Mr. Obama scolded Exelon and federal regulators for inaction and
introduced a bill to require all plant owners to notify state and local
authorities immediately of even small leaks. He has boasted of it
on the campaign trail, telling a crowd in Iowa in December (30, 2007)
that it was the only nuclear legislation that I've passed.
"I just did that last year," he said, to murmurs of approval.
But, contrary to Mr. Obama's comments in Iowa, it
ultimately died amid parliamentary wrangling in the full Senate.
The history of the bill shows Mr. Obama navigating a home-state
controversy that pitted two important constituencies against each other
and tested his skills as a legislative infighter. On one side were
neighbors of several nuclear plants upset that low-level radioactive
leaks had gone unreported for years; on the other was Exelon, the
country's largest nuclear plant operator and one of Mr. Obama's largest
sources of campaign money.
IN TRUTH, Mr. Obama told the Iowan's that he PASSED nuclear legislation,
"just last year (2007)."
IN TRUTH, Mr. Obama LIED, LIED, LIED-his nuclear legislation bill NEVER
PASSED!!!
This was a KEY Issue that swayed the Iowa Caucus in his favor, as the
folks of Iowa were facing similar issues in regards to nuclear power
plants, and they mistakenly were "hoodwinked and boondoggled" by a
slick Chicago politician, who was willing to tell them anything to get
there votes, even lying about his legislative record.
Mr. Obama in his 3+ years in the US Senate has sponsored ONLY TWO pieces
of legislation that have become law:
A bill to promote democracy in the Democratic Republic of Congo
A bill to name a post office
I Lied Lie
Obama to
delay repeal of US military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy.
Obama will not move for months, and perhaps not until 2010, to ask
Congress to end the decades-old ban on open homosexuals in the ranks,
two people who have advised the Obama transition team on this issue say.
Repealing the ban was an Obama campaign promise. (heh,
heh! He lies to everybody.)
Obama provided a policy statement to the (deviously
named ) Human Rights Campaign, the largest U.S. homosexual
rights group, pledging to repeal the exclusion and to invite back
service members discharged under the law. He also said that he
wants the Pentagon to school military people on how to treat gays.
Open acceptance would change the atmosphere entirely. If
fraternization is a problem now between men and women, imagine the
conflicts with openly gay officers who no longer have to be reticent.
Immigration
Lies
Obama says that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the
largest investigative arm of the United States Department of Homeland
Security (DHS), are terrorists.
Speaking in front of the racist National Council of La Raza, Obama said,
"When communities are terrorized by ICE immigration raids, when nursing
mothers are torn from their babies, when children come home from school
to find their parents missing, when people are detained without access
to legal counsel, when all that is happening, the system just isn't
working, and we need to change it." (video)
BY the way, this comment beautifully
illustrates the Alinsky facilitation method. Obama agitates the
crowd with emotional language and charges, and then provides the
solution to these perceived wrongs -- himself. It's what he does
all the time and it is the secret to his success.
Immigration Lies
The claim made by Obama that 46 million "Americans" lack health
insurance is false because that number includes almost 10 million people
who are not "Americans" but in fact citizens of foreign countries who
happen to be present in the United States ILLEGALLY, according to data
from the U.S. Census Bureau.
The claim was made repeatedly in a
report published by the White House Council of Economic Advisers (CEA)
on June 2 and again in an op-ed published the same day by Christina
Romer, the chair of CEA.
The claim that there are 46 million
uninsured "Americans" has also been used by members of Congress and news
organizations.
At a townhall meeting in Green Bay, Wis., last
Thursday, President Obama twice referred to "46 million" people who lack
health insurance, although in neither case did he describe those "46
million" as "Americans" -- in one instance referring to them as "46
million people who don't have health insurance" and in another instance
as "46 million uninsured."
On June 2, the White House released
"The Economic Case for Health Care Reform," a report by the president's
Council of Economic Advisers. In making the case for Obama's
health-care reform plan, this report repeatedly asserted that there are
46 million uninsured "Americans."
Obama wants
you to give up your insurance plan so he can insure criminals. He
wants those 10,000,000 voters too -- Democratic Party control
forever.
That's the reason that Rep. José Serrano [D NY] filed,
in the current session of the U. S. Congresss,
H.J.Res. 5.
Serrano's resolution is a Constitutional amendment to remove the
limit on the number of terms one may serve as President. It
effectively would repeal the 22nd Amendment, which was approved by
Congress in 1947 and ratified by the states in 1951. Several
Democratic Party members of Congress have introduced similar
legislation.
Iran Lies
But why tell one lie when you can tell more?
Earlier this year, three-fourths of the Senate voted in favor of the Kyl-Lieberman
Amendment, designating the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC)
as a terrorist organization. Among those who voted for the
resolution were Hillary Clinton, Richard Durbin, Harry Reid, and Chuck
Schumer.
Obama voted against it, effectively standing with the IRGC.
Yesterday at the AIPAC conference, however, Obama
expressly stated that the IRGC was a terrorist organization.
His campaign explained his opposition to the resolution naming the IRGC
a terrorist entity by claiming that the resolution contained language
about military action -- but Joe Lieberman, the
bill's author, said bluntly, "It has none of that."
In his speech Wednesday before the American-Israel Public Affairs
Committee, Obama said the military option is "on the table" for dealing
with Iran's nuclear program in stark contrast to his earlier statements.
During a debate last summer, he said he would be willing to meet with
Iranian leaders and other American adversaries "without preconditions"
during the first year of his presidency.
Now, he says, "[A]s president of the United States, I would be willing
to lead tough and principled diplomacy with the appropriate Iranian
leaders at a time and place of my choosing, if and only if it can
advance the interest of the United States. That is my position.
I want to be absolutely clear."
Yo, Obama, "...if and only if it can advance the
interest of the United States," is a
PRECONDITION.
Obama campaign officials, believing the
electorate is stupid and knowing the press won't question Obama,
insisted the presumptive Democratic nominee has not changed his
position.
Iran Lies
Barack Obama has returned to the
no-preconditions policy for meeting with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad,
according to Obama foreign-policy adviser Anthony Lake. Financial
Times also discovered in its interview with Lake that Obama has reversed
himself on Iraq, now saying that the withdrawal is off. Obama also
now embraces John McCain's call for a League of Democracies, despite his
campaign's rejection of it earlier this week:
Obama and his advisers stress the Democratic candidate's readiness to
sit down with Iranian leaders without conditions.
"Unless you assume that [Iranian negotiators] have IQ's less than those
of eggplants, they are not likely to make major concessions for the
privilege of speaking with us. So the question is: what is your
strategy for the talks?" Mr Lake said.
He stressed that Obama, even after withdrawing troops from Iraq over 16
months as he has promised, would maintain "a residual presence for
clearly defined missions." These would include military training,
and "preparedness to go back in if there are specific acts of genocidal
violence."
Mr. Lake was sympathetic to aspects of Mr McCain's idea of a League of
Democracies, one of the centerpieces of the Republican's foreign policy
plans.
Iraq
Flip Flops
The day after his speech at the Democratic convention
catapulted him into the national spotlight, Barack Obama
told a group of reporters in Boston that the United States had an
"absolute obligation" to remain in Iraq long enough to make it a
success.
"The failure of the Iraqi state would be a disaster," he said at a lunch
sponsored by the Christian Science Monitor, according to an audiotape of
the session. "It would dishonor the 900-plus men and women who
have already died. . . . It would be a betrayal of the promise
that we made to the Iraqi people, and it would be hugely destabilizing
from a national security perspective."
In late winter, 2008, on the campaign trail, Obama says he wants to
bring the troops home yesterday -- you decide -- was he lying then or is
he lying now?
"Obama will immediately begin to remove our troops from Iraq. He
will remove one to two combat brigades each month, and have all of our combat
brigades out of Iraq within 16 months. Obama will make it clear that we
will not build any permanent bases in Iraq. He will keep some troops in
Iraq to protect our embassy and diplomats; if al Qaeda attempts to build a base
within Iraq, he will keep troops in Iraq or elsewhere in the region to carry out
targeted strikes on al Qaeda."
Yo, Obama, removing one to two combat brigades each month, and ... all of our
combat brigades out of Iraq within 16 months, is a timetable.
Iraq Lies
The last frontier of flip-flops approaches for Barack Obama, and
even his surrogates can't seem to guess which way the wind blows on any
given day. In three different appearances over the last two days,
David Axelrod, Susan Rice, and Claire McCaskill all offered competing
visions of Obama's policy on Iraq. (videos)
Iraq Lies
John Hinderaker makes some observations about "Obama's Dishonest
Op-Ed" in yesterday's New York Times on Iraq that presumably
previews his "major speech" on the subject today. Even by Obama's
standards, the piece is breathtakingly dishonest.
Obama admits that he opposed the surge, and the attendant change in
strategy and tactics, that have brought us close to victory. But
he somehow manages to twist his being wrong about the surge -- the major
foreign policy issue that has arisen during his time in Congress -- into
vindication:
"But the same factors that led me to oppose the surge still hold
true. The strain on our military has grown, the situation in
Afghanistan has deteriorated and we've spent nearly $200 billion more in
Iraq than we had budgeted. Iraq's leaders have failed to invest
tens of billions of dollars in oil revenues in rebuilding their own
country, and they have not reached the political accommodation that was
the stated purpose of the surge."
Actually, however, Obama opposed the surge not because of those
"factors" but because he thought it would fail. He said, on
January 10, 2007, on MSNBC:
"I am not persuaded that 20,000 additional troops in Iraq is going to
solve the sectarian violence there. In fact, I think it will do the
reverse."
Barack Obama's campaign
scrubbed his campaign Web site over the weekend to remove criticism
of the U.S. troop "surge" in Iraq, the Daily News has learned.
The presumed Democratic nominee replaced his Iraq issue web page, which
had described the surge as a "problem" that had barely reduced violence.
"The surge is not working," Obama's old plan stated, citing a lack of
Iraqi political cooperation but crediting Sunni sheiks -- not U.S.
military muscle -- for quelling violence in Anbar Province.
The Daily News reported Sunday that insurgent attacks have fallen to the
fewest since March 2004.
Obama's campaign posted a new Iraq plan Sunday night, which cites an
"improved security situation" paid for with the blood of U.S. troops
since the surge began in February 2007.
It praises G.I.s' "hard work, improved counterinsurgency tactics and
enormous sacrifice."
Campaign aide Wendy Morigi said Obama is "not softening his criticism of
the surge. We regularly update the Web site to reflect changes in
current events."
GOP rival John McCain zinged Obama as a flip-flopper. "The major
point here is that Sen. Obama refuses to acknowledge that he was
wrong," said McCain, adding that Obama "refuses to acknowledge that
it [the surge] is succeeding."
Iraq
Lies
While
campaigning in public for a speedy withdrawal of US troops from
Iraq, Obama has tried in private to persuade Iraqi leaders to delay an
agreement on a draw-down of the American military presence.
According to Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari, Obama made his
demand for delay a key theme of his discussions with Iraqi leaders
in Baghdad in July.
"He asked why we were not prepared to delay an agreement until after the
U. S. elections and the formation of a new administration in
Washington," Zebari said in an interview.
Obama insisted that Congress should be involved in negotiations on the
status of US troops -- and that it was in the interests of both sides
not to have an agreement negotiated by the Bush administration in its
"state of weakness and political confusion."
"However, as an Iraqi, I prefer to have a security agreement that
regulates the activities of foreign troops, rather than keeping the
matter open." Zebari says.
Though Obama claims the U. S. presence is "illegal," he suddenly
remembered that Americans troops were in Iraq within the legal framework
of a U. N. mandate. His advice was that, rather than reach an
accord with the "weakened Bush administration," Iraq should seek an
extension of the U. N. mandate.
The amateur and the professional
While in Iraq, Obama also tried to persuade the U. S. commanders,
including Gen. David Petraeus, to suggest a "realistic withdrawal date."
They declined.
Obama has made many contradictory statements with regard to Iraq.
His latest position is that U. S. combat troops should be out by 2010.
Yet his effort to delay an agreement would make that withdrawal deadline
impossible to meet.
Iraq Lies
The Power Line Blog
notes that Obama's campaign is in trouble when even the Associated
Press (AP) notices that it has become something of a joke.
Following up on the blogosphere, the AP noted today that Obama's web
site has airbrushed his former opposition to the "surge" in Iraq.
An Obama spokeswoman explained that the changes in Obama's web site
"were made to reflect current conditions." Which is to say, Obama
fought reality, and reality won.
• An updated Obama quote at the top of the page. The previous quote
stressed how Obama had the judgment to oppose the "rash war" from the
start. This was a popular message among Democratic voters and was meant
to draw distinctions with primary rival Hillary Rodham Clinton, who
initially supported the war. The new quote focuses on how ending the war
will make Americans safer (?)-- a message aimed at general election voters
who are more likely to trust McCain on issues of national security,
according to polling.
• A description of Obama's plan as "a responsible, phased withdrawal"
that will be directed by military commanders (under
the direction of the Obamamessiah, as he has stated) and done
in consultation with the Iraqis. Previously, the site had a
sentence that has since been removed that flatly said, "Obama will
immediately begin to remove our troops from Iraq." Obama's
spokeswoman said that his plan hasn't changed, (another
Obama lie) but they wanted to expand the description.
"There's not an intent to shift language," (whoa
Nelly, there's another whopper!) she said.
• A new sentence that says Obama "would reserve the right to intervene
militarily, with our international partners, to suppress potential
genocidal violence within Iraq." (Obama
reserves the right to flip-flop!)
The AP closes with what appears to be an unprecedented outburst of
sarcasm directed at the Democrat:
Only one of his plan's subheads remains unchanged, the first one --
"Judgment You Can Trust." That's a message the campaign wants Americans
to embrace.
It's fair to say that Obama has now admitted that he was wrong about
the most important national security issue that has arisen during his
brief time in public life.
A little long, but this important video demonstrates that Obama, leftist
defeatist and political opportunist, will adopt any position on Iraq to suit the
moment -- whatever the politics demand.
The New York Times, in a recent poll, asked, "Do you think Barack Obama says
what he believes most of the time, or does he say what he thinks people want to
hear?" -- fifty-one percent of respondents said Obama says "what he thinks
people want to hear."
Fifty-Seven percent said Obama "has changed his position on important issues in
order to get elected" -- something that 41% credited with lowering their opinion
of Obama.
Iraq Lies
Tom Brokaw asked the candidates what their "doctrine"
would be "in situations where there's a humanitarian crisis, but it does
not affect our national security," such as "the Congo, where 4.5 million
people have died since 1998," or Rwanda or Somalia.
In such cases, answered Obama, "we have moral issues at stake." Of
course the United States must act to stop genocide, he said. "When
genocide is happening, when ethnic cleansing is happening . . . and we
stand idly by, that diminishes us."
However, the AP
reported on July 20, 2007, "Democratic presidential hopeful Barack
Obama said Thursday the United States cannot use its military to solve
humanitarian problems and that preventing a potential genocide in Iraq
isn't a good enough reason to keep US forces there."
I just wonder what makes the Congo more deserving than Iraq?
I guess we can expect to see the 101st Airborne in the Congo in the near
future.
Iraq Lies
Avoiding any mention that his promise was made on March 16, 2003,
almost six years ago, incoming White House senior
adviser David Axelrod
said this morning, that Obama will fulfill his campaign promise and
begin on Wednesday the process of withdrawing America forces from Iraq
within 16 months.
"He believes that that is a reasonable
timetable. We've moved a great distance from the time he started
talking about that, and now we're in an area where everyone agrees that
we should be on a path to withdrawing those troops. And he is
going to begin that process, as promised, on that day," Axelrod said in
a "This Week" interview with George Stephanopoulos.
On
Wednesday, Obama will call in his military commanders and ask them to
come back with a plan for withdrawal, knowing full well that there are
already several in place.
A
military withdrawal usually occurs after a war is won -- Well done,
Dubya.
I Will
Not Run
Lie
Responding to questions about his intent to serve out the six year
senate term, Obama says, in
this video,
(link removed),
that he will not run for the presidency in four years.
Notice: The video has disappeared. Using WayBackMachine, I found
two links -- both played empty videos -- a lot of stuff is being
scrubbed from the web.
Here is what he said in the video:
"I think I've been very clear. Ah-ah-mumble-mumble, there's
a presidential election in four years. I'm not running for
president in four years."
Here is a backup story -- during a meeting with reporters at his Illinois
campaign headquarters after his election to the U.S. Senate,
he ridiculed as "a silly question"
whether he would run for president or vice president before his term
ends in 2011. "I've never worked in Washington," he said. "I can
unequivocally say I will not be running for national office in four
years, and my entire focus is making sure that I'm the best possible
senator on behalf of the people of Illinois."
Russert: "When we talked back in November of '04 after your election, I
said, 'There's been enormous speculation about your political future.
Will you serve your six-year term as United States senator from
Illinois?'"
Obama: "I will serve out my full six-year term. You know, Tim, if
you get asked enough, sooner or later you get weary and you start
looking for new ways of saying things. But my thinking has not
changed."
Russert: "So you will not run for president or vice president in 2008?"
Obama: "I will not."
Jobs Lie
In January, 2009, Obama
raised the jobs forecast for his stimulus plan from 3 million to as
many as 4 million on Saturday, upping the ante of his economic blueprint
for the second time in three weeks, when Obama declared a goal of saving
or creating 3 million jobs over two years.
The report, "The Job
Impact of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Plan," was prepared by
Christina Romer, his incoming chairwoman of the Council of Economic
Advisers, and Jared Bernstein, Vice President-elect Biden's chief
economic adviser.
"The report confirms that our plan will likely
save or create 3 to 4 million jobs," Obama said in his weekly radio and
YouTube address. "Ninety percent of these jobs will be created in
the private sector. The remaining 10 percent are mainly public
sector jobs we save, like the teachers, police officers, firefighters
and others who provide vital services in our communities."
Now,
his new report estimates the dividend from his plan would be 3,675,000
by the end of 2010. The president-elect also rebutted conservative
claims that his plans would create new bureaucracies, saying 90 percent
of the new jobs would be in the private sector, up from the "more than
80 percent" he claimed last weekend.
The breakdown is energy,
459,000 jobs; infrastructure, 377,000; health care, 244,000; education,
250,000; temporary programs to "protect the most vulnerable from the
deep recession, including increases in food stamps and expansions of
unemployment insurance," 549,000; state relief, 821,000; the "Making
Work Pay" tax credit for the middle class, 505,000; and business tax
incentives, 470,000.
During the campaign, Obama had promised 1
million new jobs over an unspecified time. He bolstered that to
saving or creating 2.5 million over two years in his radio address just
before Thanksgiving. Then for Sunday papers the weekend before
Christmas, aides said he had raised the target to 3 million, based on
bleak new forecasts from economists.
Judgment
Lie
Obama
indicated that he could indeed disown
his long standing Uncle Wright...even though just a few weeks ago he
said he could never do that.
Even though it stretches credibility to think that after 20+ years and
so much close history together...after all, it was Obama who called
Wright his mentor and spiritual advisor...that Obama could not have
really "known" the real Jeremiah Wright, let's take him at his
word that he did not.
My questions then are simple.
If, after 20+ years of a close relationship where it was clear to
everyone else who Jeremiah Wright was, if after that long you so
terribly misjudged the man...then please tell me Mr. Obama, who else
have you misjudged so completely?
Who on your campaign staff? Who of your contributors? Who
amongst your other close associates and friends?
More telling yet, Mr. Obama, Who will you so wholly misjudge in
the future?
What leaders of nations? What members of your cabinet?
What Judges you nominate?
The list could go on and on -- AND, he STILL remains committed to the
church.
In an
interview that aired Friday on PBS's "Bill Moyers' Journal," Wright
used similar terms to explain why Obama, who has been a member of his
church for two decades, felt compelled to denounce some of Wright's
statements.
"It went down very simply," Wright told Moyers. "He's a
politician, I'm a pastor. We speak to different audiences.
And he (Obama) says what he has to say as a politician. I
say what I have to as a pastor. Those are two different worlds."
"I do what I do. He does what politicians do" -- and that's
why Obama's words don't change anything and this item is archived in
"Obama's Lies."
Kennedy
Myth
Obama went on to tell his audience that the Kennedys -- Jack and
Bobby -- decided to do an airlift. They would bring some young
Africans over so that they could be educated and learn all about
America. His grandfather heard that call and sent his son, Barack
Obama, Sr., to America.
The problem with that
scenario is that, having been born in August 1961, the future
senator was not conceived until sometime in November 1960. So, if
his African grandfather heard words that "sent a shout across oceans,"
inspiring him to send his goat-herder son to America, it was not
Democrat Jack Kennedy he heard, or his brother Bobby, it was Republican
President Dwight D. Eisenhower.
Actually, Senior was
awarded
an American sponsored scholarship in economics to the University of
Hawaii
at Manoa. He was selected by a former Kenyan cabinet minister, the late Tom Mboya, who was earmarked as
the successor to Jomo Kenyatta,
Kenya's first prime minister.
The presumption was that Senior would return to Africa
and use his "Western-honed skills in a new Kenya."
Kennedy
Myth
The Obama campaign has made
political points over Hillary Clinton's dishonest comments about
coming under "sniper fire" in Bosnia, but Obama also has some
opportunistic lies for which to account. The
Washington Post calls it "overstating," but make no mistake; this is
a flat-out lie: Obama Overstates Kennedys' Role in Helping His Father.
Addressing civil rights activists in Selma, Ala., a year ago, Sen.
Barack Obama traced his "very existence" to the generosity of the
Kennedy family, which he said paid for his Kenyan father to travel to
America on a student scholarship and thus meet his Kansan mother.
The Camelot connection has become part of the mythology surrounding
Obama's bid for the Democratic presidential nomination. After
Caroline Kennedy endorsed his candidacy in January, Newsweek commentator
Jonathan Alter reported that she had been struck by the extraordinary
way in which "history replays itself" and by how "two generations of two
families -- separated by distance, culture and wealth -- can intersect
in strange and wonderful ways."
It is a touching story -- but the key details are either untrue or
grossly oversimplified.
Contrary to Obama's claims in speeches in January at American University
and in Selma last year, the Kennedy family did not provide the funding
for a September 1959 airlift of 81 Kenyan students to the United States
that included Obama's father. According to historical records and
interviews with participants, the Kennedys were first approached for
support for the program nearly a year later, in July 1960. The
family responded with a $100,000 donation, most of which went to pay for
a second airlift in September 1960.
Obama spokesman Bill Burton acknowledged yesterday that the senator from
Illinois had erred in crediting the Kennedy family with a role in his
father's arrival in the United States. He said the Kennedy
involvement in the Kenya student program apparently "started 48 years
ago, not 49 years ago as Obama has mistakenly suggested in the past."
Law School
Lie
Obama's new TV ad
says
he "worked his way" through college and law school. His campaign
says he had two summer jobs.
Obama's latest ad repeats an often-stated claim, saying he "worked his
way through college and Harvard Law." We know Obama took out loans
to get himself through school. But the campaign provided
information on just two jobs Obama had in those years, and they were
both in the summer.
The ad begins with the announcer telling us that Obama "worked his way
through college and Harvard Law." Actually, Obama took out loans
to get himself through college, as we heard in a 60-second ad his
campaign began running last month. We don't know how much
assistance his family provided.
But "worked his way" through college and law school? The only
back-up the campaign provided for this claim was a quote from Obama's
book "Dreams from My Father" having to do with a construction job he had
one summer while he was in college, and an article mentioning his job as
a summer associate one year at a big Chicago law firm (where he first
met Bernadine Dohrn, the terrorist). We asked campaign spokesman
Tommy Vietor if Obama held jobs during the school year, or other summer
jobs, but he said only, "He had the two jobs I told you about."
Unless Obama had a good bit more employment than his spokesman was able
to describe for us, it's a real stretch to claim he "worked his way"
through school.
Lighten Up
Myth
In his memoir,
Obama writes of one of the watershed moments of his racial awareness --
time and again in remarkable detail. It is a story about a Life magazine article that influenced him.
The report was about a
black man who tried to bleach his skin white. When Obama was told
no such article could be found in Life, he says "it might have been
Ebony."
He is 9 years old, living in Indonesia, where he and his mother moved
with her new husband, Lolo Soetoro, a few years earlier. One day
while visiting his mother, who was working at the U.S. Embassy in
Jakarta, Obama passed time by looking through several issues of Life
magazine. He came across an article that he later
would
describe as feeling like an "ambush attack."
The article included photos of a black man who had destroyed his skin
with powerful chemical lighteners that promised to make him white.
Instead, the chemicals had peeled off much of his skin, leaving him sad
and scarred, Obama recalled.
"I imagine other black children, then and now, undergoing similar
moments of revelation," Obama wrote of the magazine photos in "Dreams."
Yet
no such photo exists, according to historians at the magazine.
No such photos, no such article. When asked about the discrepancy,
Obama said in a recent interview, "It might have been an Ebony or it
might have been ... who knows what it was?" (At the request of the
Tribune, archivists at Ebony searched their catalogue of past articles,
none of which matched what Obama recalled.)
In fact, it is surprising, based on interviews with more than two dozen
people who knew Obama during his nearly four years in Indonesia, that it
would take a photograph in a magazine to make him conscious of the fact
that some people might treat him differently in part because of the
color of his skin.
Lobbyist
Lies
Obama say he doesn't
take money from DC lobbyists and special interest PACS. This is
the type of double-talk "politics of the past" rhetoric Obama rails
against.
While his claim is technically true, what he does do is
take money from state lobbyists and other big money contributors who
have substantial lobbyist machines in DC, like law firms and
corporations.
In April 2007, the LA Times quoted the Campaign
Finance Institute's Stephen Weissman as pointing out that the
distinction Obama makes on lobbyist money is meaningless: "He gets an
asterisk that says he is trying to be different. But overall,
the same wealthy interests are funding his campaign as are funding other
candidates, whether or not they are lobbyists."
The Capital Eye
reported that "[a]ccording to the Center for Responsive Politics,
14 of Obama's top 20 contributors employed lobbyists this year, spending
a total of $16.2 million to influence the federal government in the
first six months of 2007."
Obama's no stranger to being influenced by
those campaign donations, either.
Lobbyist
Lies
NewsBusters
reports how the leftists of the nutroots went gaga when Barack Obama
claimed that he'd stand against taking money from lobbyists, and so did
the media. He was for a "new era" in politics. He is for
"change." Isn't he special, the nutrooters and media sighed
contentedly.
Well, apparently Obama's standard of a "new age" in politics doesn't
carry too far into his campaign, because the Democratic National
Convention (DNC) is being funded by ... you guessed it ... lobbyists.
As a New York Times report says, "Democrats Look to Lobbyist to Finance
Convention," the man being tapped by the DNC to head the fundraising for
their national convention is well connected lobbyist Steve Farber.
"Mr. Farber's vast contact list could prove crucial in raising the
millions of dollars needed by the Denver host committee to showcase
Senator Barack Obama and the Democratic Party in August in Denver."
Well, so much for getting the influence of lobbyists out of politics, eh
Mr. Obama?
Lobbyist Lies
Despite his solemn promise to the American people to keep
lobbyists out of his administration, two more have
slipped in. The latest waivers were provided for Jocelyn Frye,
director of policy and projects in the Office of First Lady, and Cecilia
Munoz, director of intergovernmental affairs in the executive office of
the president.
Munoz was a senior vice president for the
National Council of La Raza. She was heavily involved in the
immigration battles in Congress in recent years, and is now a principal
liaison to the Hispanic community for the administration.
Not
only has Obama flagrantly violated his pledge to keep lobbyists out of
his administration but only a couple weeks after his inauguration he
began doing this -- probably a record for repudiation of a campaign
promise. Even worse, he's hired an ethnocentric spokesperson for
the non-citizen, pro-amnesty Hispanic special-interest factions.
La Raza ("The Race") is a group adamantly committed to an open-borders,
pro-amnesty, and special privileges policy ('affirmative action') for
Latinos. The choice of Munoz clearly illustrates that amnesty will
be the goal of the Obama administration.
Lyin' At
The Troops
Lie
Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama
knows that to win the
vote of current and former military members and their families, he has
to prove himselflie his ass off.
"Precisely because I have not served in uniform, I am somebody who
strongly believes I have to earn the trust of men and women in uniform."
"I do not presume that from the day I am sworn in, every single service
man or woman suddenly says, 'This guy knows what he is doing.'"
giggle!
"Earning trust means listening to advice from military people, including
top uniformed leaders." giggle!
giggle!
Money Lie
During his 12 years in politics, Obama
has received
nearly three times more campaign cash from indicted businessman, Tony Rezko and his associates, than he has publicly
acknowledged, the Chicago Sun-Times has found.
Seven months ago, Obama told the Sun-Times his "best estimate" was
that Rezko raised "between $50,000 and $60,000" during Obama's political
career.
However,
Obama has collected at least $168,308 from Rezko and his circle.
Additionally, Obama
also has taken in an unknown amount of money from people who attended
fund-raising events hosted by Rezko since the mid-1990s.
Everything you ever wanted to know about Obama and Rezko.
Muslim
Lie
On January 24, 2007, the Obama campaign released a statement, saying, "To be clear, Senator Obama has
never been a
Muslim, was not raised a Muslim, and is a committed
Christian who attends the United
Church of Christ in Chicago.
On March 14th, in a
statement to The Times, the Obama campaign offered this statement to
correct their previous statement, that appears to be a bold-faced lie:
"Obama has never been a practicing Muslim. The statement added
that as a child, Obama had spent time in the neighborhood's Islamic
center."
And, the original statement began, "To be clear ..."
So, in three months, Barrack's campaign has gone from describing the U.S.
presidential hopeful as never having been a Muslim and never having been
raised as a Muslim to now never having been a practicing Muslim.
What's with the semantics? Statements from Obama's campaign appear
to have evolved, to say the least.
In a small-town café in
Pleasantville, Omaha, Obama was asked a
question that typically only circulates on the Internet.
As he sat down to have a slice of pie with a small group of potential
voters and an elderly woman asked him about being Muslim.
"I've always been a Christian," the Illinois Democrat responded. "I
have never practiced [Islam]."
Note: The newspaper editors had to add the word, "Islam."
In his autobiography, "Dreams From My Father," Obama mentions studying
the Quran. He was enrolled in two Jakarta schools as a
Muslim. His teacher Tine Hahiyary said that she remembered that he
had studied "mengaji" (recitation of the Quran)." Classmate Rony
Amiris described Obama as being a very devout Muslim, saying, "Barry was
previously quite religious in Islam." Another classmate, Emirsyah Satar,
now the CEO of Garuda Indonesia, was
quoted as
saying, "He (Obama) was often in the prayer room wearing a 'sarong.'"
(See Obama's Education.)
Yet, on his official campaign website, Obama has posted
this statement, "Barack has never been a Muslim or practiced any
other faith besides Christianity."
Obama's grandfather was a Muslim. Obama's father was a Muslim.
Obama's stepfather was a Muslim. His African relatives are
Muslims. What was he for the 27 years before his alleged
conversion if he wasn't a Muslim?
If Obama has always been a Christian, why was he enrolled in two
Jakarta schools as a Muslim, and why did he study the Quran? He
even writes about his Quranic studies in "Dreams..."
And note his Clintonesque defense, "I have never practiced."
But that's not what Obama's
sister says -- in an
interview with the New York Times, published on April 30th, Maya
Soetoro-Ng, Obama's younger half sister, told the Times, "My whole
family was Muslim, and most of the people I knew were Muslim." (Alternate
link)
I assume Maya thinks of her brother, Obama, as a member of her family?
And, the Jerusalem Post
reports that Barack Obama's half brother Malik said, if
elected, his brother will be a good president for the Jewish people,
despite his Muslim background.
This is Obama's biggest problem -- his dissimulation.
Saying, "I've always been a Christian," is a bold-faced lie.
Especially since he's never been baptized.
NAFTA Lie
The Obama campaign
told Canadian Television (CTV) that no message was passed to the
Canadian government suggesting that Obama does not mean what he says
about opting out of NAFTA if it is not renegotiated.
However, the Obama camp did not respond to repeated questions from CTV
on reports that a conversation on this matter was held between Obama's
senior economic adviser, Austan Goolsbee, and the Canadian Consulate
General in Chicago.
Earlier Thursday, the Obama campaign insisted that no conversations have
taken place with any of its senior ranks and representatives of the
Canadian government on the NAFTA issue. On Thursday night, CTV spoke
with Goolsbee, but he refused to say whether he had such a conversation
with the Canadian government office in Chicago. He also said he has been
told to direct any questions to the campaign headquarters.
CTV didn't stop there. They announced that their sources, at the highest
levels of the Canadian government," reconfirmed the story to CTV
and one of their primary sources provided a timeline of the discussion
to CTV.
NAFTA Lie
In an interview with Fortune to be featured in the magazine's
upcoming issue, the presumptive Democratic nominee
backed off his harshest attacks on the free trade agreement and
indicated he didn't want to unilaterally reopen negotiations on NAFTA.
"Sometimes during campaigns the rhetoric gets overheated and amplified,"
he conceded, after I reminded him that he had called NAFTA "devastating"
and "a big mistake," despite nonpartisan studies concluding that the
trade zone has had a mild, positive effect on the U.S. economy.
Does that mean his rhetoric was overheated and amplified?
"Politicians are always guilty of that, and I don't exempt myself," he
answered.
I suppose it's a positive step when Obama moves
past his denials and admits he lied, but I wouldn't expect him to stop.
Natural Born
Citizen Lie
Upstream
blog reports that the "We The People Foundation" will publicly
challenge Obama, using Obama's hometown newspaper, the Chicago
Tribune, to direct the State of Hawaii to provide
access to his original, "vault copy," birth certificate. The
Foundation's full-page "Open Letter to Barack Obama" will appear in the
Chicago Tribune next Monday and Wednesday.
"Under our Constitution, no one is eligible to assume the Office of the
President unless he or she is a "natural born citizen," said Bob Schulz,
Chairman of the Foundation. "To date, Mr. Obama has refused all
requests to release his original birth certificate or other documents
that would definitively establish his citizenship status and thus his
eligibility."
The Open Letter to Mr. Obama summarizes the evidence against Mr. Obama
and the adverse consequences that would befall the Nation should he
assume the Office of the President as a usurper.
"Should the state members of the Electoral College cast their votes for
Mr. Obama in the face of such overwhelming evidence, and without
verification of Mr. Obama's eligibility, they would be committing
treason to the Constitution," said Schulz.
A copy of the Open Letter can be viewed
here. Check it out. It's dynamite!
If
we do not have the right to know if Obama is a natural born citizen,
then you could argue that we do not have to know if he is 35 years old,
or if he has lived in the USA for 14 years. If so, anyone can run
for President -- anyone -- from anywhere -- at any time.
And, the news blackout is finally
lifted
on Obama's refusal to defend charges he is not a "natural born citizen"
-- the reporting news agency -- PRAVDA, the leading newspaper of the
Soviet Union and an official organ of the Central Committee of the
Communist Party.
Natural Born
Liar
Natural Born Citizen Liar
Obama already caught lying about his contact with Blagojevich.
When asked what contact he'd had with the governor's office about his
replacement in the Senate, President-elect Obama today said "I had no
contact with the governor or his office and so we were not, I was not
aware of what was happening."
On November 23, Obama senior adviser David Axelrod said on Fox News that
Obama had indeed
spoken with Gov. Blagojevich about his successor:
"I know he has talked to the governor and there are a whole range of
names many of which have surfaced, and I think he has a fondness for a
lot of them." (video)
Obama is caught lying so he throws his campaign strategist, Axelrod, who
was Blagojevich's campaign manager, under the bus, lying by saying
Axelrod "misspoke" -- LOL!
And, here's a second sourcebacking up the allegation that
Obama is lying through his teeth. On Wednesday, November 05,
2008, KHQA, Channel 7, produced this
report:
Now that Barack Obama will be moving to the White House, his seat in
the U.S. Senate representing Illinois will have to be filled.
That's one of Obama's first priorities today.
He's meeting with Governor Rod Blagojevich this afternoon in Chicago to
discuss it.
Illinois law states that the governor chooses that replacement.
There's already been speculation about his selection...from Congressman
Jesse Jackson, Jr. of Chicago's south side who co-chaired Obama's
presidential campaign, to recently-retired state senate president Emil
Jones, to the governor himself.
And, a
third source, after the meeting -- "Obama met with
Governor Rod Blagojevich earlier this week to discuss it."
Update: Oh, wait!
KHQA TV, after the two previous stories
above, now
says the meeting never happened? I just love our "independent
press" -- LOL!
KHQA feedback
And another
source -- the venerable(?) Chicago Tribune: "I just don't want
to jinx him and I don't like the karma of me thinking that far ahead,"
Blagojevich said of Obama's prospects in Tuesday's election. The
governor added, "We have had some discussions about a process which
we'll share ... if all goes well."
Everybody around this liar is a communist,
terrorist, American-hater or a crook and the Obamalytes want us to
believe this guy has terrific judgment. If they're correct, then
if follows Obama, himself, is one or more of the above. You are
known by your friends and associates, and Obama's are unbelievable.
100 Years
Lie
Obama
distorts McCain’s
"100 years in Iraq" comment again
Shocking! Not that he'd distort it; that's politics. What's shocking is
the fact that the reporter presses him on it and clarifies what McCain
meant (which Obama already knows, natch), backing him into the very
stupid assertion that Maverick wants a Germany/Japan-type occupation of
Iraq that's somehow going to cost us $150 billion a year for decades and
decades and decades. "It's seldom that you see such a dirty lie," said
Krauthammer of this subject not long ago. Prepare yourselves to see it
again and again and again.
Exit question: He wants to know how Bush and McCain define victory. How
does he define it?
Patriotism
Lie
LAS CRUCES, N.M -- Despite
not having served in the military himself, Barack Obama used his
Memorial Day remarks to speak about his family's service. "My
grandfather marched in Patton's army, but I cannot know what it is to
walk into battle like so many of you," he told a small group of veterans
here.
And speaking of his typical white grandmother, he said -- "My
grandmother worked on a bomber assembly line, but I cannot know what it
is for a family to sacrifice like so many of yours have."
Obama also spoke about his typical white uncle, who was part of the American
brigade that helped to liberate Auschwitz. He said the family
legend is that, upon returning from war, his uncle spent six months in
an attic.
First lie! --
Wow! Very dramatic! The
problem is that
Auschwitz of course is in Poland. It was liberated by the Red Army
on January 27th, 1945. Poland, on most maps is usually placed to
the east of Germany, although we may need to investigate the geography
textbooks the Obamessiah used as a child.
The Allies were wrapping up the battle of the bulge in late January of
1945 -- the Rhine crossings were still well into the future when
Auschwitz was liberated.
Either Obama's uncle served in the Red Army, or he's spinning
Clintonesque lies about Auschwitz to sell his government programs. Hey,
it's for a good cause - but it's not enough for him. It has to be
personal. It has to be all about him.
Second lie!
-- Obama has no uncles.
His mother Anna was an only child, and Obama Sr. had two sisters.
Oh, it's not a lie, his campaign says he made a
mistake -- he just made another gaffe in the growing collection of
documented Obama's gaffes -- it was his great-uncle and it was a
sub-camp of Buchenwald, but who cares about these little details, right?
AGAIN? -- well, it turns out that he's
told this tale before,
in 2002 -- except he identifies his typical white grandfather as the liberator.
"My grandfather signed up for a war the day after Pearl Harbor
was bombed, fought in Patton's army. He saw the dead and dying
across the fields of Europe; he heard the stories of fellow troops who
first entered Auschwitz and Treblinka. He fought in the
name of a larger freedom, part of that arsenal of democracy that
triumphed over evil, and he did not fight in vain."
Third lie!
-- Obama's grandfather enlisted on
June 18, 1942.
Fourth lie! -- In his
autobiography, "Dreams of My Father," Obama states his grandfather never
engaged in combat. "Gramps returned from the war never having seen
real combat, and the family moved to California, where he enrolled at
Berkeley under the GI bill." --
Berkeley??????
Patriotism
Lie
Responding to criticism of his disrespect of the flag of the United
States during the National Anthem, Obama defended himself by saying
"My grandfather taught me how to say the Pledge of Allegiance when I was
2."
He didn't even remember what he was doing on
September 17th, when Obama, Hillary and Bill Richardson attended the
Steak Fry of Sen. Tom Harkin (D-Iowa) in Indianola, IA.
How can he possibly remember what happened when he was two
years old? Do you know anyone that remembers events when they were
two?
Patriotism
Lie
At a town hall meeting in Kokomo, IN, Obama,
responding to a question, referred to the time last October, when a
Cedar Rapids, Iowa, TV reporter asked him why he didn't wear a flag pin.
"Then I was asked about this in Iowa," Obama said. "And
somebody said 'Why don't you wear a flag pin?' I said, well,
sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. I said, although I will say
that sometimes I notice that they're people who wear flag pins but they
don't always act patriotic. And I was specifically referring to
politicians, not individuals who wear flag pins, but politicians who
you see wearing flag pins and then vote against funding for veterans,
saying we can't afford it."
Obama then proceeds, in a magnificent example of hypocritical chutzpah,
to call bloggers who accurately reported his words liars.
"So I make this comment. Suddenly a bunch of these, you know,
TV commentators and bloggers (say) 'Obama is disrespecting people who
wear flag pins.' Well, that's just not true. Also, another way
of saying it is, it's a lie."
Obama's two radically different versions of his reasons for not wearing
the pin are there for you to read. You decide who's telling the truth.
Patriotism
Lie
Obama traveled Monday to Independence, Missouri,
to proclaim his patriotism in an appearance linked to the Fourth of
July holiday. He said: "I will never question the patriotism of
others in this campaign, and I will not stand idly by when I hear others
question mine."
The patriot, Obama, does the crotch salute during the National Anthem. (video)
Obama is a damned, sneaky bastard. He knows he doesn't have to question the patriotism of others,
meaning John McCain, of course, because he has a core group of surrogates that
have been
performing this nasty "artful" work for some time.
On July 8th, George McGovern
argued that John McCain's war experience was not a qualification for
the White House, saying, "But I don't recall ever saying that experience
as a bomber pilot equipped me to be very strong on how to run a war, how
to command the armed forces. Of course, John McCain never said it
was either.
In June,
Wesley Clark
dismissed the import of McCain's military background in the current
race. "I don't think getting in a fighter plane and getting shot down is
a qualification to become president," Clark sniffed. The real
issue, according to Clark, was that McCain was "untested and untried."
Again, John McCain never said it was.
But CNN's, John Roberts,
pointed out the most glaring contradiction in Clark's theory of
military experience: his enthusiastic endorsement of the treacherous
John Kerry, whose strategic command experience was nowhere near
McCain's.
Jim Webb didn't have any problem
using his military service to run against George Allen, but now he
says, "Let's get the politics out of the military, take care of our
military people, or have our political arguments in other areas."
Rand Beers, a former Clinton White House aide, was appearing at the
McCain University, a day-long symposia attacking Senator McCain hosted
by John Podesta's Center for American Progress, and he, too,
went after
Senator McCain for his service with an equally outrageous statement.
Beers attacked Senator McCain, saying that he was isolated during the
Vietnam years, causing him to miss all the social revolutions going on
in the 1960s. Yes, he was isolated. He was in a prison cell
in North Vietnam. And he said because he was captured, his
national security experience in that regard is sadly limited -- pretty
outrageous comments.
In May, Tom Harkin
told reporters on a conference call, "He (McCain) comes from a long
line of just military people, so I think his whole worldview, his life
view has been shaped from a military viewpoint, and he has a hard time
thinking beyond that, and I think he's trapped in that. And I think that
can be pretty dangerous."
On April 7th, Senator Jay Rockefeller, in an interview with The
Charleston Gazette,
said, "McCain was a fighter pilot, who dropped laser-guided missiles
from 35,000 feet. He was long gone when they hit. What happened when
they [the missiles] get to the ground? He doesn't know. You have to care
about the lives of people. McCain never gets into those issues."
The Obama Campaign doesn't want the conversation to be about military
experience, foreign relations or qualification to run our nations
defense -- how convenient, since Obama has no experience with any
of them.
Obama has less than zero military and defense experience, and his foreign relations
experience is limited to being the chairman of the U.S. Senate
Foreign Relations Committee's 11-member Subcommittee on European
Affairs.
The committee's jurisdiction includes the North Atlantic Treaty
Organization, which has been providing military support to Afghanistan
since it assumed authority for the International Security Assistance
Force mission in 2003.
As subcommittee chairman, Obama could have held hearings pertaining to
the role of NATO in the war in Afghanistan, but he has not held a
single hearing.
Last fall during a nationally televised presidential debate,
Obama hesitantly raised his hand and joined with most of his Democratic
rivals to declare that he opposed decriminalizing marijuana. (first
video).
But as a candidate for the U.S. Senate four years ago, Mr. Obama told
Illinois college students that he supported eliminating criminal
penalties for marijuana use or possession, according to a videotape of a
little noticed debate that was obtained by The Washington Times.
"I think we need to rethink and decriminalize our marijuana laws," Mr.
Obama told an audience during a debate at Northwestern University in
2004. "But I'm not somebody who believes in legalization of marijuana."
(second
video).
Asked about the two different answers, Mr. Obama's presidential campaign
said he in fact has "always" supported decriminalizing marijuana as
he answered in 2004, meaning the candidate mistakenly raised his hand
during the presidential debate last fall.
Promises
PolitiFact has compiled about
500 promises
that Obama made during the campaign and is tracking their progress on
their Obamameter. They rate their status as "No Action," "In the Works" or
"Stalled." Once they find action is completed, they will rate them "Promise
Kept," "Compromise" or "Promise Broken."
Puffery
Obama, tells the crowd at fundraiser , "I was a
constitutional law professor, which means unlike the current president I
actually respect the Constitution."
For the record, Obama is a "Senior Lecturer (on leave of absence)" at
the University of Chicago Law School. He has taught Constitutional
Law III: Equal Protection and Substantive Due Process, Current Issues in
Racism & the Law, and Voting Rights & the Democratic Process.
Puffery
The University of Chicago released a
statement Thursday saying Sen. Barack Obama "served as a professor"
in the law school -- but that is a title Obama, who taught courses there
part-time, never held, a spokesman for the school confirmed on Friday.
"He did not hold the title of professor of law," said Marsha Ferziger
Nagorsky, an assistant dean for communications and lecturer in law at
the school.
Another university spokesman, Josh Schonwald, said the Obama campaign
did not request that the statement be issued and that it was posted
because reporters were calling the school with questions about Obama's
status.
The university statement said, "From 1992 until his election to the U.S.
Senate in 2004, Barack Obama served as a professor in the Law School."
The school probably did not mean to imply that Obama became a University
of Chicago professor a year out of law school. But the word
"served" is key -- Nagorsky said Obama carried out, or served, a
function of a professor -- teaching a core curriculum course -- while at
the same time not holding down that rank.
At issue in a Clinton memo was Obama's claims -- most specifically on
several direct mail pieces produced for his 2004 U.S. Senate race --
that said he was a law professor at the university.
Obama graduated from Harvard Law School in 1991. He was a lecturer
at the U. of C. law school between 1992 and 1996. During that
time, he was an attorney at the law firm of Miner, Barnhill & Galland.
In his first years of teaching, he had only one course.
He was promoted to senior lecturer in 1996, and his teaching load
eventually increased to three courses a year, less than the load of a
professor.
Obama won a state Senate seat in 1996. He maintained his senior
lecturer post from 1996 to 2004, when he took a leave to run for the
U.S. Senate.
Nagorsky said there is a major distinction between a lecturer and senior
lecturer, though neither is a full-time position. She said the
status of a senior lecturer is "similar" to the status of a professor
and that Obama did teach core courses usually handled only by
professors. Obama's appointment was not part of an academic search
process, and he did not have any scholarly research obligations.
Puffery
One of the knocks on Barack Obama is that his résumé is,
so to speak, paper-thin. But that is not entirely accurate.
Obama, in fact, has held some major job titles which are noteworthy all
by themselves: United States Senator, Lecturer at the University of
Chicago Law School, Harvard Law Review President-each of these titles
puts him in rarefied company. Tack on a few Illinois State Senate
terms, and his resume actually appears solid. Yet, in spite of
these prestigious positions, Obama has increasingly resorted to making
claims of accomplishment that are so patently inflated that even his
cheerleaders at CNN and the New York Times are taking notice. Why?
It seems that Obama recognizes that while his résumé titles are
impressive, his actual accomplishments are weak. It's as if he
were jockeying to be the next company CEO with little to show for his
prior high-profile management positions. So, he does what anyone
else does who has spent years coasting on charisma without doing any
heavy work: he pads his resume -- stretching the truth here,
stealing credit there, and creating the illusion of achievement during
his lackadaisical, undistinguished tenure in previous jobs.
February -- As Sen. McCain has
pointed out, Obama promised to use public funding in the general
election if the Republican candidate would do so also. Well,
McCain has agreed to it, but now Obama wants to back out of the deal.
After all, when he made the promise, he didn't have a chance of raising
more than the public's $85 million stipend. But now that he can
raise $300 million, well, what's a little untruth between the waited-for
one and his people? Yes, he can.
Public
Financing
Lie
Despite his
previous pledge to enter into the public financing system should he
be the Democratic presidential nominee, Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., has
recently been reluctant to re-commit to entering the system.
This reluctance has coincided with his primary, caucus, and fundraising
successes. For that reluctance, Obama has been hammered as hypocritical
by Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., not to mention impartial observers.
Tonight at a fundraiser in Washington, D.C., at the National Museum of
Women in the Arts -- at a $2,300-per-person event for 200 people held
before a $1,000-per-person reception for 350 people -- Obama previewed
his argument to justify this possible future discarding of a principle.
"We have created a parallel public financing system where the American
people decide if they want to support a campaign they can get on the
Internet and finance it, and they will have as much access and influence
over the course and direction of our campaign that has traditionally
been reserved for the wealthy and the powerful," Obama said.
Do you buy it?
Public
Financing
Lie
Mark Shields
didn't mince words on PBS about Barack Obama's decision to opt out
of public financing. Appearing as the progressive balance with
David Brooks on Judy Woodruff's show, Shields ripped into Obama, calling
him unprincipled and suggesting that his latest video message painted
him as a "hostage" who couldn' pass a polygraph.
Public
Financing
Lies
Terrific set of videos documenting Obama's "all over the place"
positions on public financing!!!
Talk about opponents who become masters at gaming this (broken) system.
Obama now says Rezko played a bigger fundraising role.
Indicted Chicago businessman Antoin "Tony" Rezko was a more significant
fundraiser for presidential candidate Barack Obama's earlier political
campaigns than Obama has previously admitted. Rezko raised as much
as $250,000 for the first three offices Obama sought, the senator told
the Tribune on Friday.
Obama also said for the first time that his private real estate
transactions with Rezko involved repeated lapses of judgment. The
mistake, Obama said, was not simply that Rezko was under grand jury
investigation at the time of their 2005 and 2006 dealings. "The
mistake was he had been a contributor and somebody involved in
politics," he said.
And this from a guy who is running for office based upon his judgment.
Rezko Lie
PROOF POSITIVE THAT
REZKO AND OBAMA ARE BUSINESS PARTNERS.
Examine the Cook County land records:
The deed for the house that the Obama's purchased for $300k less than
the asking price is from Frederic Wondisford and his wife, Sally Radovic,
to the Obama's Northern Trust Company Land Trust #10209 (established as
such for "confidentiality") is dated 15 June 2005 and is recorded 21
June 2005 as Document #0517233010. Declared value is
$1,650,000.00.
The deed for the vacant lot is from Wondisford/Radovic to Rita M. Rezko.
This deed is dated 15 June 2005 and recorded a day earlier, on 20 June
2005 as Document #0517133004. Declared value is $625,000.00.
Examination of the Cook County records very clearly indicates that Rita
M. Rezko conveyed the entire lot to Obama's Northern Trust Company Land
Trust #10209 on 11 January 2006 and recorded 16 February 2006 as
Document #0604733162. Declared value is $104,500.00.
VERY IMPORTANTLY, thorough and careful examination of all Cook County
land records fails to locate a deed back to Rita M. Rezko from the
Obama's Northern Trust Company Land Trust #10209.
There is a "wild deed" indicated from Rita M. Rezko to "5050 S.
Greenwood LLC." This is an Illinois limited liability corporation
with the same address as Rezmar Corporation that is registered to the
indicted Tony Rezko. (This deed is considered "wild" because it is
not supported by any ownership deed from the Obama's Land Trust.)
Furthermore, Tony Rezko's registered corporation, 5050 S. Greenwood LLC,
then pledges the entire vacant lot in favor of a mortgage THAT IS STILL
OPEN with Fifth Third Bank for the amount of $375,000.00. This is
Document #0703357023 recorded 2 February 2007.
THUS, THE ENTIRE VACANT LOT IS TITLED TO SEN. BARACK AND MICHELLE OBAMA
(IN THEIR LAND TRUST FOR CONFIDENTIALITY) AND ALLOWED BY SENATOR BARACK
AND MICHELLE OBAMA TO BE PLEDGED BY A TONY REZKO CORPORATION TO SECURE A
LOAN.
This is contrary to what has been stated by Senator Obama; contrary to
what has been stated by Senator Obama's campaign staff: and contrary to
what has been reported.
It must be noted that a seemingly intelligent Harvard educated attorney
does not make such unknowing errors as stated above. The above is
obvious intent not "oversight".
Secrecy Lie
Despite a pledge
to open government, the Obama administration has endorsed a Bush-era
decision to keep secret key details of an FBI computer database that
allows agents and analysts to search a billion documents with a wealth
of personal information about Americans and foreigners.
Obama's
Justice Department quietly told a federal court in Washington last week
that it would not second-guess the previous administration's decisions
to withhold some information about the bureau's Investigative Data
Warehouse.
The Electronic Frontier Foundation, a digital rights
advocacy group, had sued under the Freedom of Information Act to get
records showing how the FBI protects the privacy of Americans whose
personal information winds up in the vast database.
As a result,
there is no public list of all the databases the FBI sucks into this
computer warehouse; no information on how individuals can correct errors
about them in this FBI database; and no public access to assessments the
bureau did of the warehouse's impact on Americans' privacy.
"In
light of all the fanfare at the highest levels of the administration
about a new transparency policy, it's remarkable that not one word of
additional material has been released as a result of that new policy,"
said David Sobel, the foundation's lawyer in the case.
Responding to the Rezko verdict: Guilty on four of first five
counts; guilty on 16 of 24 counts involving mail/wire fraud, money
laundering, and corrupt solicitation charges, Obama
said,
"This isn't the Tony Rezko I knew."
"I know nothing!
Obama has known Rezko since his Harvard days --
about the same time he began his close relationships with the Revs.
Wright and Pfleger -- and he denies he knew who they are and what they
do -- Obama is a bold-faced liar.
Shame
On Him
Lie
Presidential candidate Barack Obama repudiated
what he called "inflammatory and appalling remarks" made by his Chicago
pastor.
Obama said he had not been present during the sermons in question.
Obama
told MSNBC, "Had I heard them in church I would have expressed that
concern directly to Rev. Wright."
Please note, he says that he would have expressed concern, not
repudiate, the words
Yet, in
this video, "the Rev"
places Obama in the congregation, by saying, "There is a man here,
who can take this country in a new direction" and he points at him.
In the next clip, during Wright's 2007 Christmas services,
Wright rails, "Barack knows what it means to be a black man living
in a country and a process that is controlled by rich white men, Hillary
can never know that, Hillary ain't ever been called a nigger!"
While Wright rails, "Bill did us like he did Monica Lewinsky," Wright's
successor, Otis Moss III, jumps into the picture frame, attempting to
high-five "the Rev."
Barack was
in Chicago for Christmas 2007 and Wright is addressing him from the
pulpit. Will Barack say me didn't attend Christmas services?
When Obama said, "Had I heard them in church ..." Obama lied.
He listened to Wright's sermons for 20 years.
These two men, Obama and Wright, are two peas in the same pod.
And, please notice the congregation in that video. They are going
nuts during Wright's preaching. All of them believe this "evil
white man" crap and eat it up.
The whole bunch of them are the worst kinds of hateful racists -- and
remember, Wright's congregation is composed of successful, educated
African-Americans.
Slander
Obama accused his fellow American citizens of the
indiscriminate murder of Iraqi civilians, saying, "And these private (Blackwater
USA) contractors, they go out and they're spraying bullets and hitting
civilians and that makes it more dangerous for our troops."
Obama lies with the same ease as the Clintons and proves that he will
say anything to win the nomination and election.
The Staff
Did It Lie
Obama's
Inability to Hire Good Help Rears Its Head Again.
Jake Tapper started covering Sen. Barack Obama's inability to hire good
staffers in June 2007, when he blamed staffers for some opposition
research trying to link Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-NY, to outsourcing in
India; for injecting some venom in the David Geffen/Hillary Clinton
fight; and for missing an event with firefighters in New Hampshire.
In December, we noted again that Obama was blaming the answers on a 1996
questionnaire on a staffer; and was blaming his touring with "cured"
ex-gay gospel singer Donnie McClurkin (which antagonized gays and
lesbians) on bad vetting by his staff.
Those five buck-passing incidents were apparently not enough.
All-in-all, Tapper identifies 14 instances of Obama buck-passing.
The Staff
Did It Lie
"I know some say I've been too tough on folks about this
responsibility stuff. But I'm not going to stop talking about it.
Because
I
believe that in the end, it doesn't matter how much money we invest
in our communities, or how many 10-point plans we propose, or how many
government programs we launch -- none of it will make any difference if
we don't seize more responsibility in our own lives."
This comment was made by a man who repeatedly
assigns responsibility for his gaffes on members of his campaign staff
-- Barack Hussein Obama.
Taxes Lie
According to ABC, Obama "would
raise taxes on the wealthy, people who make more than $250,000 a
year, but cut them for most households."
The text on screen, however, stated an impossibility: "Cut taxes on
most households (95%)."
That 95 percent is impossible since one-third of those who file with the
IRS are "non-payers," people who end up paying no tax or get money back
which exceeds their payments. Obama plans to expand the Earned
Income Tax Credit (EITC) and create other credits. For those for
whom the credits surpass their tax obligation, those are not tax cuts,
but spending hikes or federal giveaways akin to welfare.
Obama says he's against reparations, but he's
for "free money." This guy's all about redistribution of wealth.
What a surprise!
10,000
Dead
Lie
Obama, caught up in the fervor of a May 2007 campaign speech, drastically
overstated the Kansas tornadoes death toll, saying 10,000 had died.
"In case you missed it, this week, there was a tragedy in Kansas. Ten
thousand people died -- an entire town destroyed," the Democratic
presidential candidate said in a speech to 500 people packed into a
sweltering Richmond art studio for a fundraiser.
The death toll was 12.
Terrorism
Lie
Obama's
comments
about "legitimate causes" of terror groups and "root problems of causes
and dangers" seems to echo little-noticed remarks the presidential
candidate made eight days after 9/11 in which he said the attacks were
carried out because of a lack of "empathy for others" suffering on the
part of al-Qaeda, whose terrorist ideology "grows out of a climate of
poverty and ignorance, helplessness and despair."
Obama went on to imply the Sept. 11 attacks were, in part, a result of
U.S. policy, lecturing the American military to minimize civilian
casualties in the Middle East and urging action opposing "bigotry or
discrimination directed against neighbors and friends of Middle-Eastern
descent."
"Even as I hope for some measure of peace and comfort to the bereaved
families, I must also hope that we, as a nation, draw some measure of
wisdom from this tragedy," Obama wrote in a piece about 9/11 published
Sept. 19, 2001, in Chicago's Hyde Park Herald.
Obama may not be a Muslim, but he certainly is
sympathetic.
Torture Lies
Obama is
preparing to prohibit the use of waterboarding and other harsh
interrogation techniques by ordering the CIA to follow military rules
for questioning prisoners, according to two U.S. officials familiar with
drafts of the plans. Still under debate is whether to allow
exceptions in extraordinary cases.
The proposal Obama is
considering would require all CIA interrogators to follow conduct
outlined in the U.S. Army Field Manual, the officials said. The
plans would also have the effect of shutting down secret "black site"
prisons around the world where the CIA has questioned terror suspects --
with all future interrogations taking place inside American military
facilities.
However, Obama's changes may not be absolute.
His advisers are considering adding a classified loophole
to the rules that could allow the CIA to use some interrogation methods
not specifically authorized by the Pentagon, the officials said.
They said the intent is not to use that as an opening for possible use
of waterboarding, an interrogation technique that simulates drowning.
In other words, Obama is
retaining George Bush's policy of allowing "exceptions in extraordinary
cases," but he is lying about it. In 8 years, Bush authorized
waterboarding 3 times, in extraordinary cases -- and he saved American
lives.
If it was up to me, I would have

Torture Lies
If you live
in L.A. and didn't die in a terrorist attack, you may owe it to the
CIA's use of the "enhanced interrogation techniques" that are currently
under fire from Obama and his left-wing constituents.
In a compelling
Op-Ed in Tuesday's Washington Post, Marc A. Thiessen
disproves Barack Obama's hollow claim that such techniques "did not make
us safer." Rather than following the MSM lead and merely parroting the
Obots talking points after the release of previously-classified memos
this week, Thiessen actually examined the documents.
Thiessen
concludes that Obama's contention is "patently
false. The proof is in
the memos Obama made public -- in sections that have gone virtually
unreported in the media."
"...that have gone virtually unreported
in the media." No surprise there. The legacy media has proved to be
singularly un-inquisitive when it comes to facts that get in the way of
Obama talking points.
Thiessen specifically refers to a May, 2005
memo regarding two top al Qaeda operatives, Khalid Sheik Mohammed and
Abu Zubaydah:
"the CIA believes 'the intelligence acquired from
these interrogations has been a key reason why al Qaeda has failed to
launch a spectacular attack in the West since 11 September 2001.' . . .
In particular, the CIA believes that it would have been unable to obtain
critical information from numerous detainees, including Khalid Sheik
Mohammed (KSM) and Abu Zubaydah, without these enhanced techniques... Before
the CIA used enhanced techniques ... KSM resisted giving any answers to
questions about future attacks, simply noting, 'Soon you will find out.'"
But once the enhanced techniques were used, "interrogations
have led to specific, actionable intelligence, as well as a general
increase in the amount of intelligence regarding al Qaeda and its
affiliates."
In other words, the techniques worked when previous
interrogation methods had failed.
"as Abu Zubaydah himself
explained with respect to enhanced techniques, 'brothers who are
captured and interrogated are permitted by Allah to provide information
when they believe they have reached the limit of their ability to
withhold it in the face of psychological and physical hardship."
The CIA documents reveal specifically that the enhanced techniques:
"led to the discovery of a KSM plot, the 'Second Wave,' 'to use East
Asian operatives to crash a hijacked airliner into' a building in Los
Angeles... information obtained from KSM also led to the capture of
Riduan bin Isomuddin, better known as Hambali, and the discovery of the
Guraba Cell, a 17-member Jemmah Islamiyah cell tasked with executing the
'Second Wave.'"
Further, the memo states that KSM might never
have been captured, and the information he revealed never learned,
without enhanced interrogation techniques used against Zubaydah.
"...Zubaydah -- again, once enhanced techniques were employed --
furnished detailed information regarding al Qaeda's 'organizational
structure, key operatives, and modus operandi' and identified KSM as the
mastermind of the September 11 attacks."
The 'Second Wave' attack
planned by KSM, thwarted by the use of enhanced interrogation
techniques, would have hijacked a jetliner and crashed it into the
Library Tower in Los Angeles, the tallest building on the West Coast. Thiessen points out, "without enhanced interrogations, there could be a
hole in the ground in Los Angeles to match the one in New York."
But the impact would have been far worse than the physical devastation
to L.A and the resultant thousands of casualties. The nation was reeling
after 9/11, deadly anthrax was being delivered through the mail, the
economy was in trouble. A follow-up attack on the West Coast would have
meant that, potentially, no one was safe. The effect would have been
devastating.
Even Obama's hand-picked CIA Director, has admitted
that he might consent to enhanced interrogation techniques under a
"ticking time bomb" scenario. And that is exactly the scenario in which
the techniques were used during the Bush administration.
Oh, and
one more thing -- Congress, including some of its loudest Democratic
critics, approved of these "enhanced interrogation techniques."
Torture Lies
Britain Did Torture
During
Obama's 100th-day presser, he said he had recently read an article about
Winston Churchill during the London blitz. "Churchill said, 'We
don't torture,' when the entire British -- all of the British people
were being subjected to unimaginable risk and threat," Obama said.
"And then the reason was that Churchill understood, you start taking
short-cuts, over time, that corrodes what's -- what's best in a people.
It corrodes the character of a country."
The anecdote wasn't
true. Churchill may well have said that Britain did not torture,
but British archives show clearly that captured Nazis were subjected to
harsh treatment in order to extract information during World War II.
This morning, Michael Tomasky points to this 2005 story in the Guardian
about a secret World War II detention center called the "London Cage":
The London Cage was used partly as a torture centre, inside
which large numbers of German officers and soldiers were subjected to
systematic ill-treatment. In total 3,573 men passed through the
Cage, and more than 1,000 were persuaded to give statements about war
crimes. The brutality did not end with the war, moreover: a number
of German civilians joined the servicemen who were interrogated there up
to 1948. . . .
"One of my favorite tasks of being a senator is hosting town hall
meetings." (00:50)
Obama knows he would have his head handed to him if he
were to share the stage with John McCain. Without his teleprompter and 4 X
5 cards, Obama is clueless -- check out the video below.

Myth
An e-mail
from a reader said that, while Hillary Clinton tells lies, Barack
Obama is himself a lie.
That is becoming painfully apparent with each new revelation of how
drastically his carefully crafted image this election year contrasts
with what he has actually been saying and doing for many years.
Obama's election year image is that of a man who can bring the
country together, overcoming differences of party or race, as well as
solving our international problems by talking with Iran and other
countries with which we are at odds, and performing other miscellaneous
miracles as needed.
There is, of course, not a speck of evidence that Obama has ever
transcended party differences in the United States Senate. Voting
records analyzed by the National Journal show him to be the furthest
left of anyone in the Senate. Nor has he sponsored any significant
bipartisan legislation -- nor any other significant legislation, for
that matter.
SObama is all talk -- glib talk, exciting talk, confident
talk, but still just talk.
Vetted Lie
Americans have been writing their elected officials,
asking about Obama's vetting process.
Here are a couple of responses, from Connecticut and South Carolina.
Basically, both respondents admit that there was no vetting process and
Obama's candidacy was just accepted.
The Chair of the South Carolina Democratic Party, Carol Fowler,
unequivocally states that all of the Democratic candidates, which would
include Obama, qualify for the office for which they are seeking. The
key statement appears on page 2 of the
document (.pdf).
The South Carolina Secretary of State, Mark Hammond, expressed the
opinion that the vetting process for democratic presidential candidate
Obama is the responsibility of the Democratic party.
The Connecticut Secretary of State, Susan Bysiewicz, uses the
Hawaiian officials press conference as Connecticut's vetting process.
The problem is, this press conference
occurred on November 1st, three months after Obama was declared as
the nominee.
In her
response (.pdf), Bysiewicz defends herself for certifying Obama was
qualified to run for president based on her interpretation of what
Hawaiian officials said via a press conference, and not a court of law
or legitimate vetting process. She claims Hawaiian officials
verified that Obama was born in Hawaii, but the fact is they did not
make any such claim, all Hawaiian officials stated was that they held
his original birth certificate.
These officials are just confirming what every
thoughtful person knows. Obama was never, ever vetted. He
was just accepted as "eligible" because, as Joe Biden said, Obama was
the first "African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a
nice-looking guy. I mean, that's a storybook, man." -- affirmative
action's logical conclusion -- remember, the guy never did anything in
his life that would qualify him for the office -- Obama's
CV -- articulate,
bright, clean and a nice-looking -- oh, Lordy!
Vote Lie
Barack Obama released his first general election
ad on Friday,
which seems aimed above all to answer some early concerns about his
biography and experience. It's a well made ad, but it also offers
an example of the kind of brazen padding of the resume that Obama will
inevitably need to engage in, and which will carry serious risks for
him.
About 46 seconds into the ad, we are told that Obama passed laws that
extended healthcare for wounded troops who'd been neglected, and in the
usual manner of these political commercials we are given a little
citation at the bottom. The citation reads Public Law 110-181
1/28/08. That law is the only federal legislation cited in the ad
the other two items mentioned were from the Illinois legislature and
referred to other issues raised in the ad.
Public Law 110-181 was the 2008 defense authorization bill. It
passed the Senate by 91 to 3 in January, with six Senators not
voting. Among those six absentees was Barack Obama.
So he cites a bill he didn't even vote for. Did he contribute to
it in some way that might be reasonably referred to as extending
healthcare for wounded troops who'd been neglected? It certainly
doesn't seem that way, as even Obama supporters at the
Daily Kos discovered when they tried to answer some of the bloggers
who pointed to Obama's citation of the bill. They found that Obama
had tried to insert an amendment that had to do with screenings for
service members returning from deployments, and one that would ease the
discharge of service members found to have personality disorders, but
neither amendment passed. Another part of the bill, calling for
inspector general reports about hospital facilities, had come from a
different bill Obama had sponsored.
Even under the most generous reading imaginable could any of that count
as passing legislation that extended health care for wounded troops?
The Chicago Tribune
noted the problem on its blog last week but defended Obama by
pointing out that John McCain didn't vote for the bill either.
That would be an interesting piece of information if John McCain had
cited this bill as among his chief legislative accomplishments.
The Obama teams desire to pad the resume is understandable its awfully
slim after all. But this kind of dishonesty will catch up with
them, or at least it should.
Welfare Lie
"Country I Love" TV Ad (01:02)
JCM directs us to
this video, in which Obama says, "That's why I
passed laws moving people from welfare to work(1), cut taxes for
working families(2) and extended health care for wounded troops
who'd been neglected(3)."
(1) State of Illinois, Public
Act 90-0017, as HB0204 6 sponsors (of which Obama was one) and 16
co-sponsors.
First, the law in question wasn't dreamed up out of
thin air by its sponsors, is was to comply with the new Federal law
that had already passed. It was the follow-up to the FEDERAL welfare
reform act, the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity
Act, that President Clinton signed on Aug. 26, 1996. That law gave
states the ability to design their own welfare programs as long as
they met certain federal requirements, including limits on how long
recipients could get benefits.
Second,
Obama was against the 1996 federal legislation which precipitated
the caseload reduction. "I am not a defender of the status quo with
respect to welfare," Obama said on the floor of the Illinois state
Senate on May 31, 1997. "Having said that, I probably would not have
supported the federal legislation, because I think it had some
problems." The bill that Obama cosponsored was Illinois' version.
(2) State of Illinois, Public Act
91-0700, as HB3939 7 sponsors and 41 co-sponsors (of which Obama was
one).
Fact: Obama did not sponsor/co-sponsor
this law, and was
"not present" when it passed, 91-3.

Rev. Wright
Lies
Barack may not have heard Wright's rants, but did he read
them?
In the Trinity United Church of Christ
Bulletin,
January 21, 2007, on pages 9 and 10, "The Pastor's Page," are these
words:
"We have lost over 3,000 boys and girls in an illegal and unjust war,
and the media is on a feeding frenzy about Barack Obama's church.
Where is the outrage about the 3,000 dead American military personnel
and the 600,000 dead Iraqi civilians who are dead for no reason
other than greed and ego? What's goin' on?"
"I use his words today on the third Sunday of a New Year to keep before
you the painful truth of who we are and where it is we are in this
racist United States of America! What's goin' on?"
"The reality, however, is that the entire war in Iraq and the larger
"war on terror" have been based on lies, half-truths and distortions to
serve the agenda of the United States imperialism. Where is the
public outcry? Where is the outrage? What's goin' on?"
He may never have heard Wright actually say the U. S. was racist or some
aspiring empire. But he never read it in his bulletin? Ever?
Will Obama deny he was
in attendance at the controversial Chicago church when the pastor
referred to "white arrogance" and "the United States of White America"
on July 22, 2007, accompanied by his Secret Service detail.
Wright laced into America's establishment, blaming the "white arrogance"
of America's Caucasian majority for the woes of the world, especially
the oppression suffered by blacks. To underscore the point he
refers to the country as the "United States of White America."
Many in the congregation, including Obama,
nodded in apparent agreement as these statements were made.
Rev. Wright
Lies
In one of the biggest lies he ever told -- Obama says he "vehemently
condemns" the words of his pastor and mentor, Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright,
an official member of Obama's campaign, as a
member of Obama's African American Religious Leadership Committee.
What an absolute pile of crap!
Obama says he's never witnessed or heard these statement before.
(video)
Another load of crap!
Obama has! Later, in a cover-his-ass speech, Obama even admits
he heard "the REv's" despicable words.
Obama and his wife Michelle have been listening to this man for 20 years.
Obama is a bold-faced liar to now claim he
had no idea the "the Rev" was such an anti-American, racist,
hate-monger!
OK, OK! Maybe he didn't hear those words. But
what about Reverend White's words that appear in Obama's
very own book, "Dreams of My Father."
"It is this world, a world where cruise ships throw away more food in a
day than most residents of Port-au-Prince see in a year, where white
folks' greed runs a world in need, apartheid in one hemisphere,
apathy in another hemisphere That's the world! On which
hope sits!"
Reverend Wright spoke of Sharpsville and Hiroshima, the callousness of
policy makers in the White House and in the State House. That was 13 years ago, in 1995.
Why hasn't Obama denounced "the Rev" at any time in the past 20 years?
The answer, of course, is because Obama wasn't running for national
office before -- that's one reason.
Another?
Obama and Wright are of the same mind -- now and then!
The Rank Dishonesty Of Obama
Hot Air
reports
that Jim Geraghty first wrote that all of Barack Obama's promises come
with expiration dates, and broken promises from politicians are nothing
new, of course. However, one usually expects politicians --- especially
those running on hope and change -- to either remain true to their
professed core values and the issues that fueled the most passion on the
campaign trail, or at least explain their change in the daylight. Obama
did neither, nor did he apologize to the man he besmirched endlessly on
the campaign trail while adopting the policy that Obama most demonized
as a candidate, George Bush.
This goes beyond the policy, which I think
returns to a rational processing of illegal combatants in wartime. We
don't release POWs until after the conclusion of hostilities, and we
sure as hell shouldn't be releasing illegal combatants any earlier,
incentivizing terrorists for operating outside the rules of war. The
fact that they joined an endless jihad against the US shouldn't get them
any consideration for earlier release dates; when the radical Islamists
either surrender or get destroyed, then we can see about releasing them. Until then, they should stay locked up and away from the fight.
Obama has essentially endorsed the detention policies of George Bush
without the courtesy of apologizing for slandering him over the last two
and a half years. Obama and his allies screeched endlessly about
indefinite detentions, and not just in Gitmo, either. They specifically
railed against the holding of terrorists without access to civil courts
in military detention facilities around the world, specifically Bagram,
but in general as well. Not even six months into his term of office,
Obama realized that Bush had it right all along.
Did he even have
the grace to admit that? No. Instead, the White House took the cowardly
method of a late-Friday leak to let people know that Obama had adopted
the Bush policy all over again. Barack Obama just appeared at a press
conference this last Tuesday to discuss Iran, energy policy, and ObamaCare, where he could have told the national press that he had
changed his mind on indefinite detention. Instead, he kept his mouth
shut, and had his media staff whisper it into phones to a couple of
White House favorites in the press.
It's a shameful performance,
and the measure of the man in charge.
I guess Obama has
finally conceded to Dick Cheney on national security, hasn't he?
