Obama Makes Nice With Syria |
Diplomats and Democrats in Washington have
confirmed that Obama wants to persuade the Syrian leader, Bashar
Assad, to cooperate with the West, in the hope that he will loosen his
country's close ties to Iran, forcing Tehran to the negotiating table as
well.
Officials believe it will be more palatable for American
voters for Obama to launch his rogue nation outreach effort with
Damascus rather than Iran. Both countries are accused of
arming and sponsoring the terrorists groups Hamas and Hezbollah,
funneling extremists and weapons into Iraq and attempting to purchase
and develop nuclear technology. A Syrian nuclear plant was
destroyed in an Israeli air attack last year.
One source, who has
discussed foreign policy directly with Obama in the last two weeks, has
revealed that the president "is spending a lot of time thinking about
Syria and how to improve relations." Actually, he's been thinking
about it for a long time..
On February 1st, 2008, Obama,
showed his international naiveté
by
naming, Zbigniew Brzezinski, the architect of the current
situation in the middle east, as his Chief Foreign Policy Advisor.
Two weeks after Obama names
Zbigniew Brzezinski as his Chief Foreign Policy Advisor, Brzezinski
arrives in Damascus,
Syria, to begin talks with the terrorists and political assassins of the
Assad regime.
The visit was not coordinated with America's
embassy and was not covered by the press, although Syrian press accounts
said the delegation would visit Syria's president, Bashar al-Assad; vice
president, Farouq al-Sharaa, and foreign minister, Walid Mouallem.
Rep. Eliot Engel (D-NY) commented, "I remember thinking, 'Why are we
listening to him?' (Brzezinski) He was the national security adviser
for Jimmy Carter 30 years ago. He proceeded to talk to us about Iran,
and I said, 'Let me see, didn't the ayatollahs come to power, didn't we
have this problem when you were in the White House?'"
Brzezinski
was also the great
promoter of Islamic fundamentalism, which he celebrated as the
greatest bulwark against Soviet Russian communism. Using the Islamic
fundamentalists, Brzezinski hoped to make the entire region between the
southern border of the USSR and the Indian Ocean into an "arc of
crisis," from which fundamentalist subversion would radiate into Soviet
territory, first and foremost into the five Soviet republics of central
Asia, Azerbaijan, etc. It was in the service of this Islamic
fundamentalist card that Brzezinski first helped overthrow the Shah of
Iran, and then insisted that the replacement could be no one else than
Ayatollah Khomeini.
Brzezinski
views history through the lens of Marxism, which, despite its
atheism, has much in common with Islam. Both Communism and Islam are
universalistic ideologies that reject the idea of the nation-state.
Both do not regard adherence to treaties between nations as obligatory.
Both Communism and Islam are militaristic and expansionist creeds that
do not recognize international borders. Brzezinski’s globalism has
become evident in Jimmy Carter. Under Brzezinski’s influence, Carter
lowered the defense budget and pursued a soft line toward the Soviet
Union. We can expect an Obama White House to pursue a very soft line
toward Islam. |
Muslims Await Obama's Change |
A coalition of the 12-largest Muslim organizations in the US has
issued an open-letter to Obama urging him to break away from
the policies of President George Bush's administration and to engage the
American Muslim community.
"We...wish to see you instruct senior
officials in your administration to reinstate roundtables with Muslim
leadership for all departments, such as State, Justice, Homeland
Security and Health and Human Services," said the American Muslim Task
Force on Civil Rights and Elections (AMT).
Unveiling the
"American Muslims in the American Mainstream,"
open-letter in a press conference on Monday, December 29, AMT
chairman Agha Saeed said the incoming Obama administration needs to take
notice of the American Muslim community.
"Ninety-five percent of
Muslims voted on the day of election," he stressed. "That was the
highest voter turnout of any community in America."
"As you
assume your new duties, there are some areas we hope you will list among
your priorities," read their open-letter.
"This includes
restoring due process, objective justice, repealing manifestly
unconstitutional clauses of the USA PATRIOT ACT, ending COINTELPRO
campaigns against Muslim and Arab American communities, and ensuring
that our nation rejects the use of ex post facto laws."
"We look
forward to your proposals for providing universal healthcare to our
citizens and fixing our nation’s broken immigration system."
"We
demand that our government, the US government, take immediate
steps to end the immoral and illegal Israeli bombardment of Gaza and its
population," said Awad. |
The Shadow Government |
While the media goes through a never ending cycle of adoring adulation
toward Obama, there are many inconvenient stories that they simply
refuse to answer.
One of those stories is the immense number of newly created advisors
and envoys. These advisors appear to have no clear role.
That's because there are already entire cabinets created specifically
for what they are supposed to do. The two latest are George
Mitchell and Richard Holbrooke. Beyond these two envoys, Obama has
named an enormous amount of czars as well as a few other folks simply
called advisors.
Obama is not the first to have czars, advisors,
and certainly not the first to have envoys. What makes the Obama
administration different is first the sheer numbers of these folks, and
second the scope that some of these folks will have. In the case
of both Holbrooke and Mitchell, there are in fact deputy level positions
for each of their roles. In other words, why are Holbrooke and
Mitchell envoys to Afghanistan/Pakistan and the Middle East
respectively, when the State Department specifies deputies to the
Secretary already for those specific roles? In other words, why
did he name them envoys when they should have just been appointed Deputy
Secretaries for these respective areas?
And, don't forget
this stuff. |
The New Age Is Here |
The Oprah Winfrey Show, taped at a Washington restaurant, overflowed
with strange and messianic notions about Obama and how the thrill over
him is unanimous. Actor Forest Whitaker summed it up for Oprah:
"The light of the New Age is here." Oprah pal Gayle King passed
along her agreement with a message that "Not only does he hear us. He
feels us. That when I hear Barack Obama, they said, he talks to my
soul." Whitaker also strangely claimed "we’re not used to seeing" a
president and a First Lady who love each other, but the Obamas have
signaled "it’s okay to love."
Historian Doris Kearns Goodwin
strangely claimed it was "extraordinary" to have a president care about
history, and told the audience Obama said to her in 2007 he’s not
getting the presidency to be Millard Fillmore, but to be great like
Lincoln. Ali Wentworth, the wife of George Stephanopoulos, painted an
incredible picture of a massive gospel choir on the subway system en
route to the festivities: "I took the Metro, and everyone was singing
‘Amazing Grace’ on the Metro."

It Begins |
On January 16, 2008, Obama had an approval rating of 83%, which was
during the transition, a time when Obama didn't actually do anything
(remember "No comment -- there is only one president at a time").
Today, a week later, he is at 68%.
What could account for
this sudden plunge in popularity? Could it be that the guy wants
to spend a trillion dollars of taxpayer money at a time when we actually
need our money just to make ends meet? Call me crazy, but telling
people he is going to take their money and use it to paint bridges ain't
exactly persuasive stuff.
Maybe he is losing support among the
lefties, who might be realizing that The One might be a warmonger, no
better than Bush, for bombing innocent dirt farmers in Nowhereistan?
Whatever the reasons, his numbers are falling. |
America's Lady Diana? |
Michelle Obama’s flair for fashion has captivated Washington and set the
hearts of glossy magazine editors aflutter. She has already eclipsed
Carla Bruni, the super-model chanteuse and wife of Nicolas Sarkozy, the
hyperactive French president. Not since Diana, Princess of Wales, has
there been such a glamorous role model at the apex of society.
In her white, one-shouldered chiffon gown, she boogied to Stevie
Wonder’s Signed, Sealed, Delivered I’m Yours and slow-danced with her
husband at a succession of inaugural balls. Barack Obama held her
lovingly around the waist, clasping two fingers around her back, and
nuzzled her. Women’s Wear Daily, the influential American fashion
magazine, said her ball gown made the Obamas look like newlyweds.
