Hussein Comes Out Of The Closet	The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), part of the Muslim Brotherhood's Palestine Committee, welcomed Obama's use of a quote from Islam's Prophet Muhammad in his remarks at Thursday's National Prayer Breakfast. In his prepared remarks, Obama quoted the prophetic tradition, or "hadith," which states: "None of you truly believes until he wishes for his brother what he wishes for himself. There is no religion whose central tenet is hate. There is no God who condones taking the life of an innocent human being." Robert Spencer takes apart this taqiyya, writing: Arguably, that is true: there is no religion whose central tenet is hate: there is no religion that teaches that the most important thing one must do in this world is hate someone or something else. But certainly the religion that comes closest to teaching such a thing is Islam. If the Qur'an doesn't teach that Muslims should hate unbelievers, certainly it teaches that they should be harsh with them, consider them the worst of all created beings, not become friends with them, and, ultimately, wage war against and kill or subjugate them: "O ye who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians for friends. They are friends one to another. He among you who taketh them for friends is (one) of them. Lo! Listen Up, Obama	Obama promised that during his first 100 days in office, he would deliver a major address in a key Islamic capital aimed at improving America’s ties with the Muslim world. Looking ahead to Obama’s address, leading Islamic governments say improving relations between Islam and the West will require a review of anti-terror policies and a recognition of the need to address what they say are the "root causes" of terrorism. At a meeting this week hosted by Pakistan’s Council of Islamic Ideology, ambassadors from Muslim countries put forward recommendations that they said would help to improve relations. Iranian Ambassador Mashaallah Shakeri said, "Now, the U.S. must listen prior to talking." "Bloodshed and suicide attacks have nothing to do with Islam," said Pakistan’s religious affairs minister, Hamid Saeed Kazmi. Syrian envoy Muhammad Raid Ismat called for a distinction between terrorism and what he called a legitimate struggle for a homeland. Participants said Islam was misunderstood in the West, and they took issue with the linking of terrorism and Islam. Two hundred years ago, John Quincy Adams, the sixth American President understood these "root causes," and wrote, "The precept of the Koran is, perpetual war against all who deny, that Mahomet is the prophet of God. The vanquished may purchase their lives, by the payment of tribute; the victorious may be appeased by a false and delusive promise of peace; and the faithful follower of the prophet, may submit to the imperious necessities of defeat: but the command to propagate the Moslem creed by the sword is always obligatory, when it can be made effective. The commands of the prophet may be performed alike, by fraud, or by force."
Spiffy!	Before taking off yesterday on Air Force One for his first trip as president, Obama told reporters traveling with him that the plane is "spiffy" and showed off his new crew jacket with his name stitched on it. "What do you think of this spiffy ride here? It's not bad," he said to reporters sitting in the back on the plane. The helicopter ride from the White House to Andrews Air Force Base also got the nod. "Very smooth, very impressive," Obama said, adding that the view is "spectacular." Obama jetted off to a House Democrats' retreat in Williamsburg, Va., in hopes of pushing his economic rescue package through Congress. MapQuest "Driving" directions estimates the driving distance to be 152 miles -- a two hour ride, with the Virginia State Police clearing the way -- or a thirty-minute ride aboard Marine One. Instead, Obama, who has been critical of corporate executive excesses for their use of private jets, limos with drivers and free trips to posh resorts, and who just capped their salaries at $500,000, decided to spend 68 thousand dollars to use HIS private jumbo jet, Air Force One for the 100-mile trip to Williamsburg; thousands more for the 20-mile helicopter ride to Dulles aboard Marine One; more for the limos with drivers to take the "Dear Leader" from the airport to the posh Kingsmill Resort & Spa in Williamsburg, where he shillled his socialist spending program by scaring the bejeezus out of the American people. The liberal Democrats are having their three-day annual retreat at a cost of $100,000, and that cost does not include the individual cost of travel and rooms for each attendee, of whom Obama said, "have my appreciation and admiration" and more importantly the thanks of the American people -- thanks Barney, for the mortgage meltdown. There may be a financial crisis in America, but not for Obama and his fellow socialists. They could have held this meeting in a "spiffy" Washington hotel and save a million or two. Postscript -- At the beginning of this journey of excesses, Obama strode across the White House lawn towards "Marine One," when Obama reached the foot of the stairs up into the helicopter, he stopped and greeted the Marine standing in full salute, and extended his hand. Pictures later showed that the Marine looked thoroughly shocked by the breach of protocol. Just another sign of Obama's inexperience.
War On Fossil Fuels	Obama has wasted no time in reversing a decision by the Bush White House that let gas and oil companies explore for new resources. Keep this in mind the next time pump prices take off. Interior Secretary Ken Salazar has canceled leases for energy exploration on 77 parcels of federal land in Utah, confirming that this White House is indeed a Small Oil administration. The previous administration, which was not beholden to environmental special interests and seemed to understand the importance of energy, had released 130,000 acres of largely uninhabited -- and uninhabitable -- land for oil and gas exploration. Some of the parcels are in or near the Green River Formation, an oil-rich region in Colorado, Utah and Wyoming that has the largest known oil shale deposits in the world, holding from 1.5 trillion to 1.8 trillion barrels of crude. "Even a moderate estimate," says the Energy Department's Argonne National Laboratory, indicates 800 billion barrels are recoverable. That amount alone makes the Green River Formation stock "three times greater than the proven oil reserves of Saudi Arabia." The now-off-limits parcels not in the Green River Formation also hold "vast amounts of domestic, clean energy," according to the Independent Petroleum Association of Mountain States.
