Obama To Drop Sanctions On Iran This report would probably seem preposterous if it weren't for the fact that Team Obama already waived sanctions on Syria and is considering opening travel to Cuba.

Officials said the new Obama administration has decided to end sanctions against Iranian government agencies or companies that aid Teheran's missile and nuclear program.  The officials said Israel has been informed of the new U.S. policy, and the decision has already been relayed to Iran.

"The administration has abandoned sanctions entirely," the U.S. source said.  "It is a completely new ballgame.  We were told that sanctions do not help the new U.S. policy of dialogue with Iran."

Obama decided to end sanctions against Iran after determining that the U.S. measures had failed to block Teheran's missile or nuclear weapons program.  Under the administration of former President George Bush, the United States accelerated sanctions on Iran in 2008.

Similarly, Obama has decided on a new U.S. ambassador to Syria and is expected to lift sanctions against a nation charged with aiding Al Qaida in Iraq and secretly building a nuclear reactor with North Korean assistance.

Diplomatic sources said Obama, in consultation with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, has asked Frederic Hof to become the first U.S. ambassador to Damascus since 2005.  The sources said Hof, a member of the National Advisory Committee of the Middle East Policy Council, agreed to take the post.

They said Hof would be authorized to facilitate an expansion of U.S. relations with Syria, which deteriorated under President George Bush.

The sources said Obama sent Zbigniew Brzezinski to Syria in September 2008, and pledged that if elected he would reconcile with the regime of President Bashar Assad.  After his election victory, they said, Obama sent another message that promised to appoint an ambassador within the first weeks of his administration.

This is like watching Carter on crystal meth.

Obama's Drug Czar Obama has selected Seattle's police chief to be the nation's next drug czar, an administration official said Thursday.

Gil Kerlikowske will lead the Office of National Drug Control Policy, a position that has been a Cabinet-level post in past administrations, according to an official who would speak only on the condition of anonymity because no official announcement has been made.

Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (CCRKBA) said reports that Kerlikowske has been tapped to become the nation’s next "drug czar" offer more proof of the anti-gun intentions of the Obama administration.

"During his eight-year tenure as Seattle’s police chief, Kerlikowske has established himself as a devoted lobbyist for every restrictive gun law proposal," said CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb.  "That’s pretty hypocritical of a guy whose own gun was stolen out of his department car on a downtown Seattle street.  He may pass an FBI background check for an appointment, but he flunked the responsible gun owner’s test."

Kerlikowske has lobbied for bans on sport-utility rifles that are owned by tens of thousands of law-abiding Washington residents, and millions of their fellow American citizens.  He backed legislation to close the mythical "gun show loophole" with an unsubstantiated theory that private sales put guns in the hands of criminals.

"While he’s been Seattle’s police chief," Gottlieb noted, "he’s become a close ally of the anti-gun Washington CeaseFire, but he’s never bothered to sit down with gun owners to discuss crime problems, gun safety or enforcement efforts that focus on felons rather than firearms.

"Kerlikowske’s reported appointment to a post within the Obama administration reinforces the genuine concerns of American gun owners that the new president is not their friend," he observed.  "The new president has surrounded himself with people who have long anti-gun rights track records, including Joe Biden, Eric Holder, Hillary Clinton and Rahm Emanuel.  By adding Gil Kerlikowske to his inner circle, Obama is simply confirming the adage that "you can tell a lot about someone by the company he keeps."

That last statement brings to mind this bunch.
Obama High School? Ben Raderstorf, president of the Student Worker Club, the 12-member group of students that proposed changing the name of Boulder High School to Barack Obama High School, said the group is backing off the plan.

He had called a news conference for 3:30 today, but he said this afternoon that he plans to announce an end to the effort because of a lack of support.

Earlier today the Boulder High Student Council released a statement saying "the majority of the student body is in favor of keeping the name, Boulder High School."

"We are glad that Boulder High students feel comfortable expressing their opinions," the statement said, "but we are proud of our school and feel that a name change would diminish the lengthy and rich history of our school."

What the hell has happened to Colorado?  Here's a bunch of good-looking American kids that are ALREADY brain-washed into believing communism is the way.  Once Obama starts pouring gazillions into the public school system, you can expect to see a lot more of this.  This country better wake-the-f*ck-up!
Obama License Plates Can't get enough of Barack Obama?  How about an Obama license plate?

Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White today unveiled an "Illinois Salutes Barack Obama" temporary license plate, which can be used for 60 days beginning Tuesday.

The plates feature a smiling President Obama, seemingly gazing towards your temporary numbers. A waving American flag fills the background.

The plates are only good through April 17.  They cost $50 -- with proceeds benefiting Illinois libraries.

The temporary "special event" plates are available at www.ila.org/obama
