Obama And D Day |
On June 6, 1944, the United
States and its allies launched the largest air and sea armada in world
history. The purpose of this mission was clear: liberate Europe from the
grip of Nazi despotism.
The landings on the Normandy beaches led
to unprecedented death and destruction. American soldiers leaving their
amphibious landing crafts measured their life expectancy in minutes. In
the first hour of battle hundreds lost their lives and in succeeding
waves thousands were killed as the beaches at Omaha and Utah were soaked
with the blood of young men in their teens and early twenties.

Obama
will attend the events on June 6th as George Bush did in 2004 for
the sixtieth memorial service. Here is the rub, as of now Obama’s
State Department has asked (read
demanded) the French government not allow tour guide
services to operate that day. It is a big day for Normandy
tourism. Yet, the Obamamessiah will not allow those not connected
with government to enjoy the day. Obama is very important you
know. This is an unprecedented request. I hope the French
come to their senses and deny it.
For the fallen heroes lying in their graves this ignorance is
lamentable. Perhaps it explains why Obama can apologize and
apologize again and many Americans can applaud, or at the very least,
accept his gesture for foreign consumption. I cannot. I am appalled that
we can ignore, forget or rationalize away American heroism.
I
don't think we should ever apologize for what the United States has done
to extricate millions from the yoke of totalitarian control. It is not
arrogance to recall the limbs that were shattered and the bodies broken
to set history on the course of democracy, imperfect as it is.
Before Obama stands supinely before the G-20 again and engages in a form
of national self-flagellation, I would urge him to stand amid the
crosses and stars in Normandy cemetery and recall the sacrifices made by
those youngsters so that he could stand amongst their graves and
breathe an unadorned version of freedom.

Disrupt, Dismantle And Defeat Al Qaeda |
Obama's stated aim to "disrupt, dismantle and defeat" Al-Qaeda has
already resulted in "serious pressure" being brought to bear on
Al-Qaeda's leaders, believed to be hiding in Pakistan's border regions.
Predator drones run by the CIA are regularly flown covertly in
Pakistan, targeting Al-Qaeda militants. Officials say the US military
does not participate in the armed drones program inside Pakistan.
Pakistani officials say the
drone strikes, which have killed more
than 390 people in about 42 attacks since August 2008, violate its
territorial sovereignty and deepen resentment in the nuclear-armed
nation.
According to CIA director Leon Panetta, US authorities remained alert to
the possibility of Al-Qaeda fleeing Pakistan or Afghanistan for refuge
elsewhere. Panetta said Somalia and Yemen were regarded as possible safe
havens for the group.

Obama Denies Cheney Request |
Readers may recall that in late
April, former Vice President Cheney requested the declassification and
release of CIA memos which showed how effective enhanced interrogations,
including the waterboarding of only THREE terrorists, were in providing
the information that Cheney asserts saved thousands of American lives.
Democrats insisted that the memos proved nothing and Obama insisted
that the information could have been gotten by other means even if it
was "harder" to get the information.
I speculated at the time
that Obama would NOT release the memos, despite the claim that they were
the best source to discredit the former Vice President if the
information showed he was wrong.
On May 14, the CIA officially
declined Cheney’s request stating that the memos were the subject of a
Freedom of Information ACT (FOIA) lawsuit and could not be released.
White House Press Secretary Robert
Gibbs (Gibbels) attempted to spin the issue
stating that "The CIA is the agency that has jurisdiction over this."
Gibbels went on to blame the Bush Administration which modified an
Executive Order limiting release of information in such circumstances.
However, what Gibbels failed to mention was that the documents Obama
previously released that created such a firestorm about so-called "torture" were also the subject of a FOIA lawsuit but Obama declassified
and released them anyway.
There is no legal restriction on
Obama’s power to declassify and release these documents. And yet, his
Administration is taking every effort to block their release.
Former Vice President Cheney has filed an appeal of the CIA decision. But this process could be stopped today if Obama wished it to be. And
for documents which Democrats claim prove Cheney is a liar, one would
think they would be only too happy to expedite matters.
The fact
that Obama is using every bureaucratic tool to block
release of these documents should raise serious questions for people who
desire to learn the truth about how well waterboarding THREE terrorists
worked to save American lives.

Obama's Pollution Standards |
Obama plans to
announce new vehicle
emission standards and pair them with a broader goal of reducing
pollution.
Officials familiar with the administration's
discussions say Obama will unveil the new standards on Tuesday.
The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because the official
announcement had not been made.
The plan would for the first time
link federal emission standards and greenhouse gas limits.
California, 13 other states and the District of Columbia have urged the
federal government to let them enact more stringent standards than the
federal government's requirements. The states' regulations would
cut greenhouse gas emissions by 30 percent in new cars and trucks by
2016. |
Obama Admits his Economic Programs Won’t Work |
Supreme Leader Obama -- who usually appears on television at least
once a day -- recently spoke at a high school to a group of his
adherents in Rio Rancho, NM. Now that he and his minions have
systematically gutted the US Treasury, Obama may have finally uttered a
truth. Of the now close to $2 TRILLION in debt that he has already
instituted against We-the-People Obama said:
"We have to pay
interest on that debt, and that means we are mortgaging our children’s
future with more and more debt." Now that the economy is just about
destroyed, Obama admits the truth of his impotent financial program? Tragically, as usual, his still-fawning mainstream media backs him and
lends their support to his unrelenting march to ruin the USA. Then, in
one of his all too common attempts to deflect negative attention away
from himself, Obama said "Most of what is driving us into debt is health
care, so we have to drive down costs."
Huh? Health care? Not
only does that statement have nothing -- whatsoever -- to do with
Obama’s and his followers’ personal and ongoing attacks against the
economy of the USA but, it’s a patent lie.

I Was Spock |
Obama said in a
report Sunday
that he saw the new "Star Trek" film recently -- and not just because it
was last week's top-grossing movie.
"Everybody was saying I was
Spock," said the US leader, known to have a wonkish command of the
minutiae of policy -- not unlike the dispassionate movie Vulcan to whom
he has been compared.
Newsweek gushed however that Obama's
version of the character would be "Spock with global sex appeal." |
Gun Owners Wary Of Obama |
Thousands of U.S.
gun owners gathering in Phoenix for the National Rifle Association's
convention have one target firmly in their sights: any attempt to curb
gun rights by the new guys in Washington.
"We as an association,
but more importantly America's 80 million gun owners, are very concerned
about what may be coming down the pike through the Obama
administration," Glen Caroline, grassroots director for the NRA's
lobbying arm.
The NRA is one of the most powerful lobbying groups
in the country, with a long record of campaigning hard for gun rights
sheltered by the U.S. Constitution. It has nearly 4 million members,
60,000 of whom were expected to attend the three-day event that began on
Friday.
NRA activists and rank-and-file members say they are
worried that Obama will fulfill promises to seek a
permanent ban on assault weapons -- military style semi-automatic rifles
-- and take other steps to tighten ownership of certain weapons.
"The question right now is not if there's a gathering storm, but when in
fact that legislation is pushed more aggressively," Caroline said as
activists, some in NRA caps and stars-and-stripes shirts, gathered for a
buffet breakfast and workshop in a Phoenix hotel.
The NRA says
Democratic control of both houses of the U.S. Congress make curbs more
likely. It is organizing members to campaign for gun-friendly candidates
-- usually Republicans -- in the mid-term congressional elections next
year.
Many gun owners see curbs looming and are stocking up.

Bill Ayers and Rev. Jeremiah Wright Together Again |
Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr. and Bill Ayers
paired up Sunday to lead
community activists, clergy, and residents in Oak Park on an annual walk
to rally for a solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The two
drew over 400 people to a forum before the walk held at the First United
Church of Oak Park and urged a new perspective on the Mideast conflict
more in line with Obama’s. According to the Tribune, The
Committee for a Just Peace in Israel and Palestine, the organizers of
the event, said Ayers and Wright were invited for their work on the
Israeli-Palestinian conflict, not their political notoriety.
During the 2008 presidential campaign Obama struggled to distance
himself from both Wright and Ayers.
Wright was Obama’s former pastor at
the Trinity United Church of Christ whose controversial sermons became
widely publicized during the campaign; and questions about the closeness
of his relationship with Ayers, a former leader of the radical left
organization the Weather Underground group, raised uncertainty about
Obama’s character and politics. |
