Watchman?
If there is a theme to The Littman's book it is this: hackers
are the most serious threat to individual privacy in history. To
press this theme he downplays, or omits entirely, several
instances of corporate eavesdropping and illegal surveillance to
which he was privy. He then paints Kevin as the silent watchman,
always watching, always listening, a man obsessed with spying on
others.

To achieve this goal, Jon uses "facts" gathered from
government agents and allies, including Kurt vonBrauch, the phone
company investigator who was fired by the Oakland Police
Department for lying, and Rob Crowe, the prosecutor who crafted
the discredited espionage indictment. And in some cases, The
Littman appears to have simply invented the facts himself.
Jon did not attempt to verify any of the claims listed below with
Kevin. One of them, however, is actually true. Can you spot
it?
