TRUNK88 4.63 Notes
------------------


As with any TRUNK88 update, you should make backup copies of all of your
.CTL files before installing this version.

You do not need to (nor should you) replace your TRUNK88.CTL file with the
copy contained in this zip archive; it is included for new installs only
and is merely a copy of the author's personal TRUNK88.CTL file.


Hotkeys Summary (some hotkeys are not listed in TRUNK88's help summary):

  Note:

    Some of these hotkeys write data to the background activity display area;
    The more lines you can allocate to the BGA display, the better.


  Ctrl-A: Affiliation Summary

    If you are displaying or editing a talkgroup or patch record with the
    Edit Talkgroup command, this hotkey will write a list of radio ID's that
    are (apparently) currently affiliated to the selected talkgroup or patch
    to the onscreen background activity display area and to the log file (if
    enabled).

    The displayed list is based on affiliations and group calls made by
    subscriber units and consoles.  A '+' preceding a radio name indicates
    that the radio was seen affiliating to the selected talkgroup or patch.
    The '+' characters generally indicate which radio(s) have dragged a
    talkgroup or patch to the currently monitored SmartZone site.

    If you are displaying or editing a radio record with the Edit Radio
    command, this hotkey will write an affiliation/PTT history summary for
    the selected RID to the onscreen background activity display area and
    to the log file (if enabled).  The summary lists all talkgroups that the
    selected RID has affiliated to or keyed up on.  A PTT Count of zero
    indicates that the RID was only seen affiliating to a particular group.
    The summary also includes the radio's current affiliation (if known).


  Ctrl-H: Context-Sensitive Help

    Where enabled, this hotkey writes a context-sensitive help summary to
    the onscreen background activity display area.  Context-sensitive help
    is currently enabled for selected entries in the Edit Defaults and
    Edit Settings commands.


  Ctrl-N: Neighbour List

    This hotkey writes a list of the current site's SmartZone or OmniLink
    neighbours to the onscreen background activity display area and to the
    log file (if enabled).


  Ctrl-P: Patch Summary

    This hotkey writes a list of currently active patches and multiselects
    to the onscreen background activity display area and to the log file (if
    enabled).  Supergroups are tagged with a '+' next to the talkgroup name.


  Ctrl-Q: Quiet Mode

    This hotkey toggles Quiet Mode; when enabled, this mode suppresses all
    audible alerts except keyboard entry error tones.  Quiet Mode is
    automatically cancelled if the current site goes in to site trunking.


  Ctrl-R: Redraw Screen

    Changes made to various display elements (custom colors, background areas,
    field tags, display fields, etc.) generally don't take effect until a
    system control file is reloaded (via the Update command) or a screen redraw
    is requested (Ctrl-R).


  Ctrl-S: Statistics Summary

    This hotkey writes the summary that the "more Numbers" command generates
    to the onscreen background activity display area and to the log file (if
    enabled).


  Ctrl-F2: Autodetect

    This hotkey retriggers TRUNK88's data slicer pin/polarity autodetect
    logic (or if a sound card is being used, the source/polarity autodetect
    logic).


System .CTL file format for SmartZone systems:

  RF channel records are listed in their respective Zone blocks, rather than
  in the single channels group that non-SmartZone system files use.

  Zone blocks hold all zone-specific data:

  	- user-defined zone name
    - system-defined zone alias (six characters max)
    - connect tone used by zone
    - zone's neighbour list (up to seven neighbours)
    - zone's RF channels (repeater outputs)

  Zone blocks and all zone data (except the user-defined zone name)
  are automatically generated by TRUNK88 while monitoring SmartZone sites.
  Zone blocks are located in system control files immediately before
  talkgroup records.

  Currently, you must manually edit system files to add or modify zone names.
  Zone names are created by adding a

    Name = "zone name"

  line to a zone block.  The zone name should be placed ahead of other zone
  data as shown in the following samples:
