Benefits and Ways to Use
Radio Manager 2002
Interactive PC Control of
Scanner with Virtual Key Pad
- Do all you can do with the scanner’s keypad, and
more, more easily!
- Hit List shows recently active channels, and allows
you to double-click on a hit to quickly return to that channel.
- Easier Scan Bank and Scan List Selection than on
the Scanner Itself
- Quickly Switch to a single Scan Bank to zone in
on activity.
- The Special Functions menu offers shortcuts to
functions that are buried in menus on the 780.
- Upload AlphaTags with your full-size keyboard
and easily selectable fields.
- Manage Search Ranges more easily from your
computer.
Easy Maintenance of
Talkgroup Database Records
- Using the Trunk Manager database format you can
quickly add, update, and delete talkgroup records, which provide enhanced
descriptions of channels in Radio Manager.
Unattended Logging (search
for activity or lack of activity)
- Radio Manager 2002 is a stable program and you
can leave it running for days collecting data on channel activity, or
perhaps, you’re looking for inactivity on certain channels. Combine Radio
Manager 2002 with RecAll-Pro from http://www.sagebrush.com/
and RM2002 will stamp your RecAll-Pro .WAV file recordings with channel as
well as time information, so you can play back a file and see what channel
you are hearing.
- AutoContinue can be enabled to continue scanning
or searching after a number of seconds which you can specify. It’s a great
way to make sure the scanner doesn’t get hung on a birdie or open mic.
Unattended Notification by
Email of Activity on Selected Channels
- Radio Manager’s EMail Notification function can
tell you when selected channels are active when you are away from you
scanner. It’s a great tool for news rooms and others who want to know when
there is activity on seldom used channels like SWAT, EOCs, Aviation
emergency channel, and the like. Requires scanner, PC, and internet
connection to all be on. EMail
your regular email, or pager/cell phone email address, or any number of
combinations.
Across the Room Monitoring
of Scanner Activity
- Big Channel Displays make scanning more
enjoyable and usable without tying you to your computer or scanner. You can choose very large fonts for
several key areas of the screen, so that you can see channel descriptions
across a room.
- Use audible .WAV files to announce activity on
selected channels.
Background Monitoring of
Scanner with Always On Top Mini Window
- Radio Manager’s Mini Window can be scaled down
(and even up) and will remain On Top so that you can still see channel
descriptions of scanner activity while you work in other programs.
These are just some of the
great things about and ways to use Radio Manager. Please let me know of any innovative
ways you’re using Radio Manager, so I can share them others.
