Birdie Frequencies

Birdies are frequencies your scanner uses when it operates.  These
operating frequencies might interfere with broadcasts on the same
frequencies.  If you program one of these frequencies, you hear only noise
on that frequency.

If the interference is not severe, you might be able to turn SQUELCH 
counterclockwise to cut out the birdie.  These are the most common birdies
to watch for:

      31.200 MHz    161.895 MHz    446.300 MHz
      41.600 MHz    162.295 MHz    508.700 MHz
      52.000 MHz    168.325 MHz    511.400 MHz
     114.400 MHz    169.530 MHz    511.4125 MHz
     155.870 MHz    173.145 MHz
