(610-2743) Power Faxback Doc. # 47959
POWERING THE LANTERN
Internal Batteries
You can power your lantern with six D batteries (not supplied). We
recommend alkaline batteries such as RadioShack Cat. No. 23-550.
1. Turn the battery compartment cover counterclockwise and remove the
cover.
2. Insert six D batteries as indicated by the polarity symbols (+ and -)
marked inside the battery compartment.
3. Replace the battery compartment cover by pushing down on it while
turning clockwise.
CAUTIONS: Use only fresh batteries of the required size and type.
Do not mix old and new batteries.
If the lantern will not be used for several days, remove the
batteries.
Never leave dead or weak batteries in the lantern.
Dispose of batteries properly; do not bury or burn them.
Vehicle Battery Power
You can use the supplied power cord to power the lantern from your
vehicle's cigarette-lighter socket if your vehicle has a 12-volt DC,
negative-ground electrical system.
WARNING: Be sure to turn off the lantern and disconnect the lantern from
the cigarette-lighter socket before you change a bulb or the
fluorescent light.
CAUTION: Always connect the power cord to the lantern before you connect
it to the cigarette-lighter socket. Then disconnect the power
cord from the cigarette-lighter socket before you disconnect it
from the lantern.
