Your radio uses an optional Ni-MH rechargeable battery pack (RSU No.
12016481, available through your local RadioShack store) or three alkaline
AA batteries (not supplied) for power.

CAUTIONS:  Use only fresh batteries of the required size and recommended
           type.

           Do not mix old and new batteries, different types of batteries
           (standard, alkaline, or rechargeable) or rechargeable batteries
           of different capacities.

Note:  You need an optional desktop charger (Cat. No. RSU-12016473), to
       charge the battery pack before you can use it.  Follow the
       directions supplied with the optional desktop charger to charge the
       battery pack.

Be sure the radio is off, then remove the belt clip.  Use a coin or a
screwdriver to loosen the screw on the battery compartment cover, then
slide the cover down and off and install the battery pack or batteries.

Note:  If you will not be using the radio for several months, remove the
       batteries.
