| Course Description: This course is for FAA personnel who will be involved in managing, planning design, executing High Energy Radio Frequency (HERF), testing, analysis, and certification. This course will help the individual to know the latest FAA and industry approaches to the HERF certification process; understand the nature and the seriousness of the hazards of electromagnetic radiation; define failure modes and criteria for flight critical systems; understand how electromagnetic radiation penetrates airframes and couples into flight system electronics; recognize valid corrective measures to problems in grounding and bonding; and explore advanced methods of HERF immunity design. |
