The more I think about this the more I think that this can be used for
good and evil. Lets say that someone has a bug with countermeasures.
It attempts to detect common detection gear (or really attentive
listeners). When it goes into 'stealth' mode it masks itself.
The process that this uses could be applied to other frequencies. As
such it could hide from a variety of detection methods (metal detectors,
thermal, physical inspections might all reveal it depending on many
factors).
