Former police dispatcher accused of bugging ex-wife's home
ELIZABETHTOWN, N.Y. A former police and fire dispatcher for an
Adirondack town is accused of hiding a video camera in the residence
of his ex-wife, who's a sheriff's deputy.
Thirty-three-year-old Michael Alteri of Ticonderoga has been indicted
by an Essex County grand jury on a felony eavesdropping charge.
Authorities say Ticonderoga town police obtained a search warrant for
Alteri's home and found videotapes from a hidden video camera he
allegedly installed at the home of his ex-wife, an Essex County
sheriff's deputy.
Alteri, a former Ticonderoga emergency-services dispatcher, is
already facing trial on a sexual misconduct charge involving a
16-year-old girl.
He and another former Ticonderoga dispatcher -- 35-year-old Kenneth
Otley -- were arrested in February. Otley has pleaded guilty to
endangering the welfare of a child and will be sentenced in late November.
